Torrid

I love Torrids! I have a hard time finding clothes that actually fits! I am plus size and very short (5’2) their clothes fits me! Yay! Of course certain cuts and styles are not for me, but for the most part I always walk out satisfied! They carry not only clothing, but shoes, accessories and intimates! The staff is always friendly! I absolutely love this store. The only draw back of course it that it can be pricey, but in the end, you get what you pay for! I have returned items here without a receipt, and have never had a problem! So, I would highly recommend this store to all the curvy girls out there

I HEART TORRID! This was the largest Torrid I’ve ever been to. The ladies helped me find exactly what I needed to complete an outfit for a Unilocal event. The store and fitting rooms are very clean. I would recommend this store and will definitely be back! (A big plus is it’s location right near the parking garage.)

Okay so I’m surprised not to see a review for this store. Let me start by saying the staff is always friendly, helpful and offer perfect service (not toooo in your face but they make you feel welcome). I love finding clothes that are plus sized and not fit for a grandmother. I am not really a big fan of a lot of their styles as they are a bit out there (hot pink and animal prints aren’t my thing). They do have some more toned down items which is nice.
I tend to prefer shopping online but I can’t do that often with Torrid. The reason being that their sizes seem a bit off. I vary between about 3 sizes in pants and I understand there are different fits but that seems extreme. Also I do not see why a store for plus sized girls sells so many skinny jeans. They just aren’t flattering on some of us. It is a struggle for me to find non-​skinny pants at this location. The clothes are a bit pricey so I refuse to buy full price. That being said, this week marks the third time I have bought pants from them only to notice holes in the crotch shortly after having removed the tags.
The first time I was out shopping and came home to realize a huge (at least 3 inches worth) portion of the seam inside the crotch area was pulled apart… and YES they were the proper size and not skin tight lol. Those were cheap enough that I just tossed them. The second time I brought them back in and was surprised that they let me exchange them. The third time (this past week) I bought a pair on sale ($ 35ish vs $ 58). I didn’t realize the small hole until getting home from work but I did notice a coworker glanced in that general direction and now I will forever wonder if they were mulling over how, or whether, to pull me aside. It was small enough that I just sewed it back together but I will never be comfortable wearing the pants and am sure I’ll be making bihourly trips to the mirror to check on them.
In addition, I keep buying these pants when the fabric isn’t great. It does not wash well (ends up with white spots?) and they wear down really quickly. Also I hate hate hate those hook closures on their dress pants they are poor quality and either come apart too easily or just fall off eventually. One last thing… the pants have an odd shape. They are super big at the waist… almost like they are all made for somebody with a box type shape (you know how at Lane Bryant they do the box, triangle, and circle). They fall down all the time but the legs fit fine (maybe I’m just a weird shape lol). Anyhow it makes it even worse that they usually don’t have belt loops!
Other than the sizing, pricing, and quality issues, I keep going back because there are few other options and I like supporting a store that is at least trying to do something positive for plus sized women. I have been going in a lot lately because I just started a new job and need some business casual styles (pants, button downs, blouses). They’ve had some good sales lately but I just wish they offered more of those styles as I can’t wear a lot of this stuff to work. I know that’s not their style but just saying it would be nice! Anyway after this last trip I might have to go for the grandma styles elsewhere so I at least don’t flash anybody at the office!
