I had this Dell computer in my study that was going on 7 years of life… along with this desktop Inspiron system I had this beautiful large monitor that came along with it when I ordered it from Dell many moons ago! Unfortunately when I got this system Windows Vista was the going system and everybody knows how crappy an OS that one is. Needless to say over time I began to realize that I hated the experience I was having with this PC and eventually ended up getting an Apple Macbook Pro in 2008… my first MB Pro and then I followed up with another one in 2011 which I am still currently using. Funny enough it was due to this MB and an issue I was having how I first got connected with Transcend and it’s «Chief Enabling Officer», Peter Tran! To make a long story short Peter didn’t solve my MB issue although he was eager to. I just wanted to run my questions by Applecare again before making any decisions. But because of Peter’s genuine interest in solving my problem I listened to him as he suggested that he could upgrade my study PC to Windows 8.1 and save me from buying a new one. He did his due diligence and checked out my system requirements and then made a trip out to my house and spent several hours here basically installing Windows 8.1 and making sure that everything worked well before he left. And after that he was still able to remote in and make sure all my updates updated successfully! In other words for a non-technical type like me that wants everything to work just right out of the box… Peter exhibited the patience and knowledge to help me with my needs in regards to this study computer! Conclusion: If you need someone with a lot of IT experience and ability to troubleshoot and solve your PC issues… like your OS slowing down because of bloat etc… Peter is your man! I found him very knowledgeable but not in a patronizing way. He seemed genuinely interested in solving your needs for your system and holding your hand throughout the process… in other words being patient and even explaining things in a clear and concise manner without all the«technical» mumbo jumbo! Highly recommended and very reasonable! I told him I was going to write him up on Unilocal as for me it’s a great source when you want to hear other’s insights into various businesses which make a big difference in whether I select it or not! So if you have a PC issue that is eating up your whole day give Peter a call and give him a try! I think you’ll find him very professional and knowledgeable! Best Wishes! :) ANAMENDMENTTO A REVIEW I POSTEDEARLIER… LETMEEXPLAIN: The reason I decided to amend my review is if anyone ever decides to «hire» someone to work on their PC think twice before doing it! One day I decided to google PC repair in Sugar Land to see what popped up and after checking out several sites I guess I must have somehow registered a request on this site called Thumbtack where people can send you«bids» etc to fix your problem. Well I received a bid from this guy, Peter Tran and he sent me a bid and I thought it sounded reasonable so I decided to give him a try. To make a long story short my nightmarish experience started when I allowed him to talk me into«upgrading» the operating system on my 7 year old Dell Desktop. What I found out is that when you trust someone be careful because you can get hurt. Now I have an eleven year old son and he has an eleven year old daughter and it seemed like he would be fair and honest but I found out differently. He seemed nice enough but the bottom line was the issues I had with my «old PC» were not fixed and he decided to keep my money without resolving the problem! Most people guarantee their work if they want happy customers but in this case I felt I was«ripped off». My trust in people also was severely damaged. I definitely will be more careful next time! Bottom Line: I would not recommend this guy period. He seems dishonest and does not guarantee his work! Also be careful about his Thumbtack reviews. I need to find out how to amend mine.
