I really wanted to like this place because of the great ambience and location, however we made the mistake of trying their breakfast. First of all, if you are charging premium prices then I expect simple breakfast items to be perfectly executed. Our server clearly did not understand«soft-scrambled» when I ordered because I received very well-done eggs that were nearly burnt. Over-cooking scrambled eggs should never be tolerated at a good breakfast joint much less an upper-end restaurant. My wife said that the Hollandaise sauce on her Eggs Benedict tasted weird so much so that she couldn’t finish it. On the plus side, the berries in the fruit cup were very fresh and tasty.

Great place, food was good. Attended several meetings and this time the buffet was great both breakfast and lunch. The décor was good, what bothered me the most was the chandeliers hand tons of dust. Think swifter dusting extended poles!!! Glad I wasn’t allergic to dust, what else needed to be deep cleaning???

Great ambiance and Venue but the food is mediocre. I had their calamari that was very greasy. Also had their mahi mahi special that was well over cooked. Overpriced for the quality of food

Service gets a B+(like, they know they are serving bad food but with a smile). Atmosphere is a C+(like cruise ship dining). Food gets a D+. Value is C-. Looked pretty enough on the plate, but this is Oytalian food, not Italian(as in «Oy vey, what is this?»). Don’t get the squid ink pasta — unless you enjoy fish bait on top of black worms(I’ve had the real deal before and this dish fell short, simply put). The bread and wine passed the test, though.

I almost forgot to update this review. I actually got a Facebook message from the general manager and she talked to me, listened to my problem and offered a solution in the form of a gift card and an apology… after researching if it actually happened.(It was a year later when I responded to the msg bc it was in my other folder) I really appreciate the business for reaching out to apologize and for that I give 3.5 stars.

I was kind of underwhelmed at this place. Food is quiet average. I had the crab cake appetizer which was ok, and the salmon entrée was just bland… My friend had the vegetarian pasta and she also said it was bland. Like other reviewers said, you’re paying for the location.

This one is a gem in medical center. What a location to have a perfect professional lunch. It sits right on the top of the Common’s waterwall overlooking the Baylor College of Medicine and the Methodist hospital. They also have a great bar with Happy hour. A nice go to place to release some stress right after work. We ordered their four cheese ravioli, it was flavorful and delicious. They also served their desert on the House for my girlfriend’s birthday! It was a delicious chocolate cake!

The location of this restaurant is hidden away in a building of the medical center on the 6th fl I believe(?) The food was alright, they had a wide selection of wines but not many options for food. I tried the squid ink pasta with calamari which tasted like regular pasta. I asked the waiter to bring me a side of alfredo sauce because the dish tasted too bland to me in just the olive oil. My date got the fried quail and mashed potatoes, still nothing special. The only wow factor about this place would probably just be the view. I don’t think I would return to this place unless it was for another big event.

We found this restaurant while looking for a gluten free menu. They have both a gluten free menu, and a vegetarian menu(not vegan). The service was OK but the food was exceptional. The water fall is beautiful at night but you can’t see it from inside the restaurant.

In midst the medical center you’ll find two water walls. In between, 6th floor you’ll find Trevisio. Trevisio is a region and small town north of Venice. It was always very jealous of Venice’s strength and influence. The weather is decent, people are friendly. A mindset made of the influence of the alps, the Adriatic Sea, very hospital. Pun intended. If the management would thrive for a little bit more quality the food would match the price they ask for. Not much is missing. Good news is: the intelligence level in the main dining room is pretty high. Older folks, lots of doctors, quiet atmosphere. The food, although; between mediocre and underwhelming. We had carpaccio, sliced pretty thick and buried under cresses, capers, tomatoes, rucola, olives and shallots. Oh, and salt. Lots of salt. I ordered Linguine Vongole, al dente. They weren’t. What a pity. The ordered tuna salad revealed itself as being a celery/apple salad with a little fish and condiments. It would be great to use yellow fin and not albacore, the taste is just better. The Cesar salad was a little on the bland side but tasted like a Cesar salad should. Staff is welcoming and helpful. The ambiance is late 80s, a glass front covering the whole outer wall which is nice because you’ll see the poor chaps flown into the hospitals by helicopter and be grateful that you’re just a visitor. If my clams were bad, I wouldn’t have a long walk to the next doctor. But they were good.

Happy Hour 3 – 7 M-F You would never happen upon this hidden gem located on the 6th floor of the Commons building with the beautiful waterfall. Friday at 5pm we were almost the only people there, so it was a laid back ambience where it’s easy to have a conversation accompanied by a pretty view with large windows and lots of natural light. Wish they had beers on tap, but HH prices aren’t bad for how nice the place seems(and beats expensive marriott for HH in walking distance to med center for those who work here). Drinks selection is fairly limited and I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here for HH, but to unwind with coworkers on your way home this place is pretty convenient, had nice atmosphere, and reasonable.

They are located on the top floor of the medical building in the heart of the Houston Medical Center. I came here for a banquet party of about 50 – 60 people. I was very impressed with table presentation and table setting. Very appropriate to be called fine dining. Everything was in place, clean, neat, and service was on point. Despite having a large party, the food came out in a very timely manner. We had a 3 course meal which comprised of a salad, main dish(we had an option of fish, steak, or vegetarian pasta), and chocolate cake dessert. I’m a fish lover so the fish was the obvious choice. And it was not a disappoint. The salmon was cooked perfectly and marinated well, the cut was also great. But dessert on the other hand was sweetness over kill. The chocolate cake was too sweet for me and I could not finish it, and usually I hate wasting food. Service was great as well, the server came by to refill drinks appropriately as well. We were lucky because we got a great view. We saw the fountain view and it was beautiful at night. Overall, great place, good food, but not a 5 star to me. I would not go out of my way to come back here to eat. Also you have to pay for parking as well. I’m not sure if the restaurant will waive it because our banquet party got our parking waived. Since it was a paid banquet dinner, I did not know what the tab was, but it was probably quite high.

I came for HRW(Houston Restaurant Weeks) and stayed for so much more on the regular menu. I had high hopes for this being a great dining experience since I had been given several thumbs up from friends who had previously dined here. The only unfortunate thing was that the fountains were down and currently being repaired. Granted, I would have preferred to see the fountains in working operation, but I will be back for more of what Trevisio serves. This place may not be for those wanting simple spaghetti or steamed mussels; yes, they do have these options, but they won’t be served up the traditional Italian way. This is NEW Italian, meaning that old classics are dressed up with inventive flavors added in to compliment the dishes for an exciting palate experience and the presentation is reminiscent of classic French plating. Unless you know that Trevisio is situated in a medical building, you may miss the turn entirely to get in to the parking garage. Follow the signs and park close to the elevator, which will whisk you straight up to Trevisio. The waterfall that separates the hostess area from the bar is gorgeous and a great use of organic movement to separate space. The dining room is large and each table has very plush chairs, making the dining experience a comfortable one. The tables are dressed in white linens, but the water glasses are a brilliant blue, while the carpet dances with fun bright colors. My waiter was very professional, but he kept apologizing for interrupting or to place things on the table. He was good, but by no means did he need to apologize for simply doing his job, which he did very well. After reading over the menu’s, I decided I wanted a little bit of HRW and a little bit from the regular menu. I dined here with a couple friends, so appetizers were not overwhelming when I had only a couple bites of everything. We started with the fried risotto balls and fried artichoke hearts. Yum. I don’t have enough words to describe how elegantly beautiful these dishes were, mostly in part to the sauces that accompanied them. There was great balance between tart, tangy, savory, fried, and creamy that seemed to compliment each other so well. Dinner was next and the scallops I ordered were perfectly cooked with just the right amount of pan searing so as not to make the scallops overcooked and rubbery. I also got a sample of the four cheese ravioli on the menu which was fantastic. The cheeses were not quite gooey, but they weren’t stiff, it was something just in between to make them a shining star from the dinner menu. I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience here, albeit the fountains not working, but found that the ambiance was enhanced by the big open windows. It was truly a shame that there weren’t more people dining here. I’m not sure if their big crowds are during lunch, but this is a great place to dine for an evening dinner. Trevisio has won me over as a customer, and I will be back to enjoy more of the food and the new fountains.

Working in the Medical Center, I have been to Trevisio many times for candidate interviews, medical society dinners, and the occasional long lunch with a friend. There are few options around here, and Trevisio is really your only upscale option. Located on the top floor of MD Anderson Commons, you have a lovely view over the cascading waterfall wall. I find the food fairly mediocre and overpriced. But, again, I feel that you are paying for the location and service(as well as a lack of local competition). The best time to come is Happy Hour if you want to give it a try, since their drink specials and HH food items are decent. At this time, you will likely find a crowd clad in scrubs and name badges. Pro tips: The banquet rooms are spacious, equipped with AV equipment. The bathroom are always clean. Parking is $ 12.

Trevisio is high cuisine and probably merits four stars based on food alone, but I can’t honestly say that I would go out of my way to go back often because it’s a place you go to make an event out of a meal. So, caveat emptor. The food was excellent(several courses, excellent steak), and the ambiance is great. Glass walls partition various parts of the dining area for sound dampening, and there’s a central bar that’s fairly accessible. The parking tokens are cool too. Service was great – my drinks were topped off regularly, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

My father is being treated in the medical center and he is very excited to have a quality restaurant in the local area. The restaurant is a big function facility for one of the many hospitals in the area. However, the few times that I have been there for dinner I have been rather impressed. As many of the prior reviews state, the restaurant is rather empty on a normal basis for dinner service. I have had the Butternut Squash Risotto and my father has had shrimp. Always consistent, always good. The restaurant has the atmosphere of a very formal restaurant but being that again my father is a patient we were able to go in jeans and sneakers(ultra casual) and nobody seems to mind.
