Ya know, people always talk about«authentic Mexican food». What is that? So, is it possible to visit Mexico and NOT eat authentic Mexican food? No mater how bad it is? OK.OK. to me, this place has authentic Mexican food. Just like my mother makes, and she is from Mexico City. How? My mother gets her sauce from a can, thins it out with water to make it last, over cooks her meat, and waters down her cheese sauce. Why? Because flavor is not as important as stretching the food supplies. Authentic Mexican food. I ordered the Beef fajita nachos. Ummmmm… Can you picture it? What arrived was my mother’s beef fajita nachos. A medium plate, with a single layer of chips, a ladle of watery Velveeta cheese sauce(more accurately about two tablespoons), topped with a layer of skirt steak. The beef was over cooked, no marinade or tenderizing, and was tough… REALLYTOUGH! Just like mom makes. Crunching loudly on my gristly beef drowned out what my wife was saying across the table. NO! That’s NOT a good thing. She was staring at me and looked annoyed. OK, stop crunching. My jaw muscles were throbbing a bit. «…I said taste this! I can’t figure out what that flavor is.» «OK…hmmmm… I’m not sure. All of this tastes like my mother’s crappy food but these chicken enchiladas are throwing me for a loop». «The chicken has a funny, microwave, sour, dishwater flavor. but the sauce. the sauce… hmmm, I’ve tasted this sauce before. But where.?» «Hummm,…Ummmm…wait. wait… aAaah… PANCHOS! THAT’S IT! These taste like the enchiladas at Pancho’s Mexican Buffet… Errr. sort of. except for the dishwater chicken.» OK honey, have fun with those enchiladas! No, I cant hear you anymore, my crappy gristle nachos are too crunchy. Authentic Mexican Food… just like mom makes.

One of my favorite lunch break stops. Decent food, great atmosphere and the waitstaff go above and beyond.

Neighborhood classic text mex restaurant. We’ve been coming here for over 16 years. And I’ve always ordered the Señorita. If you have kids you’ll love their kids plates.

This place was disgusting, a rip off, and a waste of my time. I ate her about 1 year ago and it was terrible the place reeked of fabulouso and the tortillas in my enchiladas were so tough and hard I had to use a knife to cut them. I have never had to use a knife to cute enchiladas anywhere else. Anyway I decided to give this place a try AGAIN today thinking maybe I just went on an off day the first time. NOPE the place still smelled like fabulouso. The smell of cleaning supplies is so strong it over powers the food. The enchiladas still required a knife to cut them. I feel like they just stole my 11 dollars if there was a way to get my money back I totally would. Do yourself a favor and go eat somewhere else. If you’re on 290 north of here I would suggest Tio Chuchos off West Road. I’ve eaten there once a week for the past 5 years as I work in the area and the food and service are much better and the prices are actually cheaper for better quality food. Most importantly the only thing you smell when you walk through the door is food.

6pm now(went today for a late lunch a little after 3 but lunch ends at 3pm). Other reviewers have said the margaritas were good — I can’t vouch for the margaritas as I didn’t drink. Here’s what I can say — the chips and salsa are mediocre at best. The salsa is watery with no substance and basically«soaks» the chip. The chips were forgettable(as in I can’t remember if they were thick, thin, salty, etc.) There are a lot of items on the menu offered in many different combinations, but oddly not one that I could find that sounded good and none that were really a good value. Also what I found strange was that the numbered dinners which had no rice and beans were not cheaper than the other combos(they’re usually $ 3 or so cheaper at all other Mexican places). So we just ordered the full order of the beef fajita nachos — how could they screw that up? Apparently very easily. These were supposed to be the upgraded, superior, deluxe or whatever nachos. Far from! Twelve chips with a little dab of refried beans on each with queso poured on top(making them soggy) and low quality beef sliced up and scattered all over the top. If it was fajita meat it was the worst quality I’ve ever seen — there were chunks of fat on top of the chips next to the meat(GROSS)! There was also a small side of jalapeños and a scoop of guacamole(which surprisingly was very good). There was so much fat on the meat that we kept having to spit it out. When we were finished I tried to take a picture of all the fat on the plate but the waiter saw what I was doing and came over and snatched it away. So why two stars you might ask and not one? Because as of right now I haven’t gotten sick yet and the place seemed clean and staff seemed friendly. I’m not from the area but hard to believe they’re aren’t much better choices around…

Went at lunch hour. Fast, friendly service! Frozen margaritas were STRONG and only $ 2.95! I had the cheese enchiladas which were PHENOMENAL! The salsa with the chips was spicy and chunky, unlike other restaurants in the area. Besides the AMAZING food, I will also be back for the EXCELLENT service!

We needed a place to meet with family before leaving out of town. It’s ok. Decent food and clean. I had the combination plate and the ground beef was on the greasy side. Cheese was good, the chicken was ok, but the sauce not so much.

The food is really good. Close to the same prices of a Arandas or a Cancun. I say food quality is better. Micholada was pretty good as well. Great place to eat and drink. Specially if stuck on 290 traffic.

Uncarbonated soft drinks. Cold chips. Broken English service. Smelly, unstocked bathroom. Left before the order came out. Thus place needs to relocate to a border town.

This place is more on the tex-mexy side, however it’s pretty good! It’s a nice quiet spot that usually doesn’t get overly crowded. I’m a huge fan of their chicken chimichangas. Their sopapillas are some of the best i’ve ever had. You can also find a decent margarita here.

I’m giving five stars because for the standard Mexican I think they are going for it’s dead on. Usually when I sit down somewhere if my fountain diet coke is flat and syrupy I lose my appetite because the food to follow is likely not gonna be good either! I swear by it:). The family that owns and runs it seems very friendly. I try not to prejudge places based on location but I was hesitant… when we walked in it didn’t reek of fabuloso which always turns my stomach! I loved every bite! I wasn’t looking for the best Mexican food on the planet but just something good and satisfying that didn’t make me feel like I’m wasting my hard earned money!

Tony is a great waiter. Food is always excellent. Anything you order is good, tasty and to order. Gina the receptionist is always smiling and welcoming. They get to know you and your names. I would recommend Two Amigos to anyone who wants good Mexican food. Great atmosphere.

Just an average Mexican restaurant. The chips were really bland compared to other places I’ve been to and there was only one sauce and no green sauce that I love. I got a taco and burrito, the taco was just meh. The burrito was actually really good. The service is friendly and fast, got my food in ten minutes during lunch time. The décor is typical and they have a spacious outdoor patio but it’s right by the highway so even on a nice day no one was out there. The pricing was average, most items 9 – 15 range. Nothing really jumped out at me making me want to return but it’s not a horrible place either. A return is to be determined…

The food reminds me of Los Tios in Houston. The wait staff is friendly and the food is very reasonably priced. I had the queso which is good but nothing super special. Either way, it will satisfy your hankering for cheesy goodness and comes with a bowl of pickled jalepeños. I had the Mexican plate which came out piping hot and stayed hot until I finished the last bite. The chicken fajitas were also delicious. The décor is and atmosphere are just ok — so I wouldn’t go on any first dates here, but for a casual meal with friends this is perfect. Enjoy!

Came here for Cinco de Mayo and their $ 2.95 margarita special, not realizing it’s no «special» but something they have Mon-Fri. I’ll keep this short and sweet: the enchiladas were horrible(no flavor) but the margaritas were awesome! I will return, only for Hapy Hour tho.

I went here today for lunch and it was pretty good. Not great and not horrible, but okay. I like the chips they bring out. They are nice, thin and crispy, but I as not a fan of the salsa. It was cold and pretty watery. It did not have any texture hardly and the flavor was just okay. I did not like that it was ice cold. For my meal, I ordered the Lunch Special #4: Guacamole Salad, Crispy Beef Taco, Two Cheese Enchiladas $ 7.75 I thought for sure it would come with rice and beans, but it did not state that and none were served with the meal. I was still a little hungry after finishing the plate. I may return in the future and try one of the other items. One good thing, they are super fast with the food so if you are in a hurry, you will be able to get in and out in no time at all.

The food is good but average. Not bad by any means, just standard Tex Mex that’s not overly flavorful. The chips seem to be the common out of the bag brand and are rarely warm. What shines here is the staff. Always closeby, on top of your every need. Stop by for a margarita and dinner you will enjoy

I would question the food before consuming here. I had a bad feeling about how sanitary the kitchen was after I went to wash my hands here. It smelled horrible and it was not clean. From what I see, if the business doesn’t care about keeping the restaurant clean, they don’t care about your food. Basically, I ordered the«lunch» fajitas and it seemed alright. Came home that evening and I started getting cold sweats and my body was locking up – come to find out, I got food poisoning from the food at Two Amigos. It was so bad that I had to take off a few days and found out another team out got food poisoning too. I tried to inform the manager by calling him and telling him to try and get rid of the meat/from that Monday if he still had it in the restaurant. I didn’t want any of their customer’s getting sick. I wasn’t complaning but rather concerned about the food they were serving. Unfortunately, the manager wasn’t nice about it and said I was wrong and that I was making it up. It’s been a while since I’ve written a low rating review but I believe this one was needed. Tip: Stick to just the margaritas and booze here…
