Uptown Blow Dry Bar

Fantastic! This was my first ever blow out & I will for sure be back! It’s survived 7 hours in the Houston humidity (and counting)! The products all smelled great– love them! Service itself was very efficient. Everyone I spoke with was polite & made me feel welcome. A definite MUST!

This salon is top notch. Each stylist is immensely talented and puts their own flare on your blow out. I find them to be very affordable as well.

Love this place! So cute! Sweet employees! Fun to talk to and on top of that I’m loving my hair!

About 6 months ago, my husband and I relocated back to the states from living abroad. I stumbled upon Uptown Blow Dry Bar due to its convenient location, and luckily had an appointment with Daniel. Over the last six months, I’ve been to Daniel at least once a week and have never received so many compliments on my hair. In that time, I’ve also seen Ruby & Greg when unable to get in with Daniel– their work has been impeccable as well. You will not regret seeing any of the stylists here!!!

Not very thrilled with this place. I could’ve done the same exact thing to my hair as they did. Employees were very nice but I didn’t leave with the big Houston hair they portrayed it to be. In fact, my hair had no body at all… I forsure won’t be spending $ 50.00 on it again!

Never going again, don’t pay $ 40 bucks to have your hair done if it’s not gonna stay done. Literally as soon as I left the place my curls had fallen. Biggest disappointment. When I went out for my birthday that evening only 4 hours later I had to redo my hair. Not to mention they continuously said how awful shape my hair was to get to sell me product, bad mouthed real salons, guess what at all real salons I’ve gone to my curls held! One star because the décor is beautiful and trendy. Service just sucked!

Greg did an amazing job ! I made an appointment for my grandmother and she absolutely loved her hair. I would recommend anyone needing a blowout to come here

This location does an outstanding job at meeting their client’s needs. Everyone I’ve gone they have executed exactly what I asked for (no matter how intricate it was)
The place itself looks and feels chic. They will most likely have a girly movie playing and you will get offered a drink. What a wonderful way to get a blow out! All the stylists look fashionable which is important for a business such as this one.
I will definitely keep coming back!

I have been here many times. The service is great and affordable. The receptionist is always at the front to greet and find you a stylist. I have had both Greg and Melissa do my hair, they always make it perfect. And I’m not an easy client, I have long extension that tangles, takes a long time to dry and is heavy to style. But I come here at least once a week cause they are that good! Love it and would recommend it to anyone who wants that extra bounce in their hair.

I highly recommend this place. I get greeted and offered something to drink as soon as I walk in. The customer service and the blowouts have always been great. The manager is always super nice and the staff is very friendly. I loved it so much I got the monthly membership!

Always ask for Greg! My hair lasts for days and he always does a great job an attitude!

I have been there twice and the receptionist I believe her name is Imagine she has red hair and tattoos has to the rudest person I have ever encountered while entering a salon. I did not feel welcome and she didnt even greet me both times I was there. I tried to ask questions about products, but it was like she was annoyed to answer them. I will not be coming back! They should not have someone like her working there! I hope they get someone new in there with manners and more class!

I just to take a minute and rave about thus place. I came here because I had back surgery and I’m unable to wash my own hair, and I was greeted by a lovely lady who offered me something to drink and told me it would be just a few minutes! I was the approached by a young man named Daniel, (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) he was so nice, professional and clean. I’m a hair stylist myself so I’m kind of picky of how I like my hair, and he listened and gave me beautiful smooth full hair. I’m super happy, even though I’m gonna be in bed recovering I feel so much better doing so with great hair! Thanks again!

They never answered the phone. How low rent. I called repeatedly. The only time they answered, I asked if they did Black hair and they hung up on me.

This place is awesome! Love that there is a blow dry bar up in this area of town. I live in Sugar Land and the closest one to me would be Galleria but since I’m up north a lot this place is super close by to where I stay and Aruba is amazing. Super friendly and does an awesome job on my hair. I had a wedding to go to and got my hair done at 10 am it lasted until the late evening that day. She was amazing and loved how quick and easy it was for her to do my hair. I have very thick hair and she didn’t even flinch when she got through all the layers. Definitely coming back and you should try her out!

Today was my first time to Uptown. My service/​experience was perfectly fine/​good, but I was very disappointed with the result. My stylist did achieve the overall idea of how I wanted my curls/​shape, but what RUINED the whole thing was the overuse of product. My hair looked flat, greasy, and just dirty… Like as if I hadn’t washed it in three days. I have thin/​flat hair which we talked about prior to the blowout, and it just looked gross at the roots when my stylist was done. I did notice that she massaged conditioner into my scalp. It seemed weird to me as she was doing it, but I figured she knew best so I wasn’t worried. I have no idea which products she used (there was no mention of products during the service), so I can’t pinpoint if a specific one made it look so greasy. I regularly use Moroccan Oil products, and I do not have this issue at home (but I also don’t apply product directly to my roots/​part). Anyway, my hair looked so dirty as I left I had to pin it half up just to get through the rest of the day. I thought the point of a blowout was for it to A. look good when you leave the salon and B. have it last longer than what you could achieve at home. I liked the space and my stylist was very friendly and nice, but leaving with flat dirty hair is deal breaker.

Would not recommend. I have gone to several Blow out Bars in Houston area and this one is just not up to par. Receptionist was very rude. They made you pick from a menu only. I tried to tell her that I like the «houston» option but with an extra curl and she said but «that is not on the menu so therefore that is not an option». They did not clean chair or brush from client before. I have dark hair and the blonde lady before me’s hair was all in my hair and my clothes after my service. The place is very nice and my hair stylist was very nice but I would never come back.

I liked this place. I really did. I think it was Summer that did my hair both times I have gone. Its very open, the place itself is gorgeous! You look at a menu, decide what style you want then get shampooed. The shampoo was probably my favorite part, they massage your scalp and neck and really take their time. I decided to go for a look that had my hair in big, loose curls. Summer did a wonderful job, she explained each product she was using on my hair before she put it on my head. My hair looked gorgeous when I left the salon, 15 minutes later every curl had fallen. Why pay $ 40 to get your hair done if it’s not going to stay? My hair holds curl very well, I just feel like they didn’t use enough hair spray, etc. to ensure my style would hold up. Before going out I had to completely re-​do my hair myself, which annoyed me. Why pay money for something if you’re going to have to do it yourself in the end? I’m sure I will be back, just going to emphasize that my curls/​hairstyle did NOT hold.
