Booked a room around 8pm so we came pretty late, there was a sign where you can dial 500& they’ll check you in. Martin was kind and a great help he checked us in quickly and was very informative about our stay there. The rooms are pretty convenient there’s a mini kitchen the comes with a refrigerator, microwave, & a stove, so if your in between moving and looking for apartments you can stay here for a week or two for a decent price. They’re vending machines but they only accept cash, no credit card or ATMS which was a bummer. There’s also laundry facility too but pretty pricey, it’s two dollars to wash. But overall I give for four stars for Martin who helped us out!

If it were possible to give a negative star rating I would. After making reservations for a non-smoking room, upon arrival the first time(note I had to try to check in twice) on a Thursday evening after regular lobby hours with a reservation, you have to dial 500 from the lobby phone to check in… I was told that they didn’t have vacancy… strange I was just on the phone and you did. Called them back and they still said you did. weird, but possible glitch so no biggy errors happen. That was a Thurs. evening… then on Saturday after calling 800-valueplace and providing card information and told we would be charged if we left early for the whole week my thought was we are a captive audience new to the area needing an affordable weekly rate(as their error for booking cost us an additional $ 300 to stay at another hotel since we were turned away the first time we tried to get in)… I think the lady simply did not want to come down and let us in… but it gets worse. On the second attempt, we arrive with the reservation number etc. and when we go to check in, the lady at the front desk says she does not have a non smoking only smoking. That she has double occupancy available but she would have to charge us for the double occupancy… an additional $ 100+… insert your choice of explicative here… so I call the 800 number again and am told we would be charged no matter what. umm you are charging me for a room that you don’t have available. They said the computer shows availability… I said your manager on property says you don’t. Needless to say I spent another 30 minutes going back and forth with them on the 800 corporate line to finally get someone to call the location direct to see what’s up. I personally think someone is renting rooms and putting cash in their pocket while corporate knows nothing and books business people only for a nightmare like this. Many know when you reserve a room a «pending» charge is placed just to make reservations… well back track to called 800 and reserved room previously… plus having to stay at another hotel a bit pricier but doable for what I thought was only 1 day then it was 2 so that eats up cash… now I am stuck at Red Roof Inn where there are serious undesirable things going on but atleast the staff is accommodating and they are trying. NIGHTMARENIGHTMARENIGHTMARE. This whole nightmare started because of VALUEPLACE. The lady at the desk at VALUEPLACE is rude. The customer service line has no idea what’s going on, because obviously someone renting rooms and not telling. I could have booked the extended stay and been money ahead for what this debacle has cost me. I am so very disappointed as my previous experiences with Valueplace have been positive. This particular location… well until they get new management I would stay away. They say $ 299 per week the final cost is $ 375 for taxes and fees. ARRGH If you reserve it, they charge you. If you reserve and show up and get told no vacancies they try and charge you… be ready to fight for your money. WORDOFADVISEDON’T STAYHEREDON’T STAYHERE

Ok, I’m a fish out of water in Houston, still. I am staying here as a Houston newbie, while looking for an apartment/room to rent. I don’t feel unsafe in my room, but going outside to smoke a cigarette after 11pm is a different story. I’ve smelled weed, seen hookers, and felt like I was in danger on a couple of occasions. Perhaps I’m just not accustomed to the«big city life,» and I’m a giant wussy, but nonetheless… the accommodations are okay, but I don’t recommend for a single female to stay here alone.
