This isn’t just your ordinary Verizon Wireless store, guys. It’s the«destination store» and one of the largest in the country(valid as of this writing). Everything looks really modern and sleek. Makes you want to press all the buttons like a kid again. If I was considering leaving AT&T for Verizon, this is def where I would sign up!

HORRIBLE! do not go to this store if you are busy or elderly. I went in this afternoon at around closing time. There was no parking anywhere and the few spaces that were there are taken up by valet parking. There were only a few customers inside the store yet every single spot outside the shop was taken. I parked off to the side to go talk to one of the people inside to see if there was more accessible parking since I was with my elderly mother, before I could get inside the cop working the verizon store comes out and tells us «you cant park there she needs to move the car» I tried to explain to him that every single parking spot was taken he said«go park in the garage» well my mother is elderly and it is hard for her to be inside those HOT parking garages that is why accessible parking spots are usually outside near the stores… Maybe if the cop was as good at stopping others from parking there and going to restaurants and shops, verizon costumers would have a place to park but not once was he outside telling people to move he was inside the A/C letting all the other spots be taken by people not even shopping there. I think my mother will just need to get a new phone from another provider dont go to this location. parking is a nightmare.

So this isn’t a restaurant or travel review. The Verizon destination store ended up being a random stop after we dined at North Italia in Uptown, so it’s worth mentioning. Savannah(one of my amazing friends who encouraged me to do this) and I were on our way to the Whole Foods in BLVD Place to grab a coffee when I got distracted by the Verizon store. Despite the many times visiting Whole Foods and the surrounding restaurants, I just never made it a priority to go. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the many employees in the store. We walked around with nothing particular in mind when Randy and William approached us. They were extremely informative, and took us on a tour of the store. Randy informed us that the Houston location is one of the three destination stores in the country; the others in Chicago and Mall of America. Fortunately for Houstonians, it is the largest store in the country. We actually both weren’t looking for anything, but they were kind enough to take us to each area of the store to show off their new products. The layout of the two story store is pretty simple. The first floor has all of your products. From cell phones, charges, cases, tablets, GoPros, Fitbits, and speakers; it has something for everybody. The second floor is primarily for businesses to meet their communication needs. We were able to play with the Kevo door lock, which you can control from your phone. We were able to control the Phillips Hue wireless lighting from our phones, easily changing the colors with the touch of a finger. I would have to say my favorite part of the visit was playing with the drones and flying them in the store. The most recent episode of Modern Family had drones tied into the story line, so I had to play with this firsthand myself. We both walked away with new toys, and of course, the service was exceptional. Instead of going to the Verizon store by my place and always waiting in line, I will drive the extra five minutes to the destination store. There are plenty of employees to help with no wait. You don’t have to be a Verizon customer to visit, and there is plenty of parking in the retail garage. So, go play!
