I live in Westbury and drive out to West Oaks To see Grant. He is talented and consistent. Excellent hair cut every time. Highly recommend you pay him a visit.

I went in with dark brown hair and Quentin f*cked my hair now I have to wait 6 weeks to have it fixed by someone else. My hair is green with nasty bronzed tones. I paid the 250 for my hair but I am beyond pissed. He is not a master chemical artist he should just be let go. His demeanor was horrible didn’t even introduced himself and when I tried to talk to him he completely shut me down. Please don’t ever get your hair colored here! So much for wanting balayage.

Scheduled an appointment at 1 pm on a Tuesday, based primarily on the positive reviews. I arrived 10 minutes early just to be considerate of being in time. At 1:25 I was seated. The colorist spent about two minutes with me before he left to continue working on another client and left me sitting at the chair waiting again. The colorist did not introduce himself and did not respond when I greeted him. It was obvious he was upset, not sure at what. I stayed quite the entire time, and left at 1:40. Don’t schedule appointments if you don’t have the necessary staff. The manager could only apologize and state that they didn’t know what the client before them wanted and it’s taking longer than anticipated. Um, don’t you ask us on the phone? Don’t you allow time in between for unexpected requests? Think outside the box, I came in for multiple things, trim my hair while I wait. The reviews posted on here must be from the employees themselves. An established hair salon should already know how to handle scheduling and this place is still in learning mode.

This last time I went(Today) I saw Thu. Avoid her like no other day! «I look at peoples facial, that’s how I recommend hair styles», no no I know what I’m doing. She recommended products and tools and I kept telling her I don’t want what she’s going to give me I don’t want. She did it anyways and I warned her I’m going to end up with a pyramid head but nooo the product she will be using is local they understand the weather. Sure in if after she was done drying it not even outside bam! Pyramid head. I hate hate hate my hair!!! I recommend Richard. There’s a reason he’s always booked

I use to go to the First Colony location until I realized I was being ripped off. I decided to try the West Oaks location and I love it! Let me start by saying that I am African American, with natural hair. I was directed to Grant Yip Choy. Grant is very knowledgeable about the products that he use and knows what will work for your texture of hair. I go to Grant for the express keratin treatment and a regular wash and flat iron. When I leave the salon my hair is full of body, silky with a lot of shine, with no greasy buildup! I recommend Grant if you are natural or not! He handles the frizz!

Very disappointed, went back to keep up with Amy and she was gone… a while back Karen did my hair color as well and she was gone too! They recommended someone else and I wanted Ombré hair. and was a big mistake since I had all over highlights I read other reviews here and it seems the good ones leave from this location :-/… Communication is the key But, I do want to thank the corporate office for fixing the problem(I did had to go dark) … got a dark brown color close to black and blue Ombré hair and it looks awesome now :)

CLASSACT! I have been coming to this salon since I was 12 and I am 35 now. Been getting my haircut by Elham(the best of the best of the best) and color done by Jackie or Naomi if Jackie wasnt there. Called to get my appt. with Elham and then asked about Jackie and was told she left, then asked about Naomi and was told she left as well! I started going through the list of names that have done my color and they were all gone! Feeling completely helpless I ask who will be there and I am told Quinton. I said we’ll sign me up. Nervous to say the least! I walk in and he is a super fashionista! Get the job done and I am in shock by how much I LOVE it! He nailed it and did a better job than any of the ladies that have colored my hair there. He’s helping out from willowbrook and I can honestly say the best hilights I have ever had! Of course my cut is amazing as usual– I go check out and the manager is so nice and asks how quinton was and thanks me for trying someone new and gives me a discount for the whole situation! What a class act! Made me realize why I drive from Rosenberg to go to this location! Great experience! Please keep Quinton there!!!

Unilocal friends. I have an update. The manager was kind enough to contact me direct regarding my experience. I am pleased to say my confidence has been restored. I will visit VC shortly and update on the experience.

My husband has been getting his hair cut here since we’ve moved to Houston just over a year ago and they have done a great job everytime. A little background on me: I am quite neglagent when it comes to my own hair because it always seems so pricy. I’ve resorted to tutorial videos on YouTube on hair cutting, and even bought professional sheers. I finally came around and decided to get my hair cut and colored, unfortunately the day I booked their colorist was all booked up, but I decided to come in and get my hair cut and just set an appointment for the coloring another day. Everyone at the front was friendly, I had master-cutter Tu as my stylist. First, she washed my hair. She did a very thorough job. When she finally starting cutting she was very honest with me with the fact that she could tell that I hadn’t had it cut professionally in a while. The end result was great. My hair feels very healthy and full, and I’m very happy with Tu. I plan on making her my stylist. She also gave me great tips on proper washing. The price was very reasonable for the great job she did to my hair.

Wasn’t able to get hair cut here cause girl up front couldn’t understand me asking if they had a good stylist for women with short hair. Its one thing to get long hair messed up but another on short hair. I was willing to try a new place out but not if someone cause tell say yes or no. All I got is we have different levels of stylist. Which didn’t help me much at all seeing as someone with less experience could be great with short hair unlike someone with many years.

Went in for a quick haircut to trim my ends a little bit. Got a walk-in appointment within 15 minutes. The hairdresser, I think her name was Rizzy or something, was very pleasant. She spent 5 – 10 minutes cutting my hair as I didn’t want any styling. The result was great and it only cost me $ 25! Best bargain in a long time!

You never know what to expect when walking in to a hair salon that you’ve never been too and I was a little nervous as this was to be my haircut for job interviews the following week. I’m not one to pay more than $ 30 for a haircut so I just went with their hair stylist. I was satisfied with my cut when I left the place and went to meet up with my significant other elsewhere in the mall. «They left too much on the top, go back» As embarrassed as I was, I asked if I could take a little more off the top. I came back just in time and my stylist was more than happy to make the quick fix. Instead of rushing thru it,(my hair was already styled since leaving last) she shampooed me again, asked me where I wanted to take more off and made me even more sharp than before. Service like this was not expected as it was New Years Eve and the place was packed. Katie(my stylist) was very sweet and accommodating despite my situation and knowing that I wasn’t going to be a return client.(Not from the area, so this stop was a one time deal) I highly recommend VC and my stylist Katie if you’re looking for a nice cut. I will admit, the décor and atmosphere could use a «visible change» though as it is looking somewhat dated. But, I’m not going to be picky.

First time here, I have long hair and wanted some highlights and possibly some in between color because of «age spots» lol. Maggie was the colorist and I was very pleased with her work and her chatter during the process. RT cut and styled my hair… Love that he listened and didn’t cut too much off the length and added the subtle long layers I requested.

Went back to Thu last Sunday, she never forgets a face, even though I haven’t been to her in over 3 years! Got a great haircut after cutting off more than 8 inches! Brought the kiddo, who is 9 years old &Autistic. She got several inches cut off for summer a little over a week ago but I wasn’t really happy. Thu told me to come back so SHE could fix it. She spent over 20 minutes fixing what someone else in her place messed by spending less than 10 minutes on. Well, my girl’s hair is shorter than I initially wanted but the most important part is it looks cute.

I am not really a fan of «chain» salons such as VC or Toni & Guy especially since you cant color and cut with the same person, but my sister works here and I needed a new stylist so I let her friend cut my hair. Michelle is great. She gives you what you want and will give her opinion on whether you should do it or not. I’ve been going to her for almost a year now. My husband and daughter go to Elia… She works really well with thick hair(and they have a lot!) My husband is very particular and Elia will cater to it… sometimes his cuts take almost an hour just so that its precise! For coloring/perms, go to Jackie. Shes awesome!

I arrived on Memorial Day at about 3:50PM, and the front desk lady told me the earliest available appointment was 4:20PM. We agreed on 4:30PM, since I decided I wanted a pedicure across the hall at Image Nails(awesome job there, by the way — see my Unilocal review). The lady explained it was $ 28 for a haircut and blow dry. I was also assured the place knew how to prepare air for donation purposes. I arrived exactly at 4:30PM and was told to have a seat on the couches. At 4:40PM, the lady told me it’d be another 10 minutes and offered bottled water. I couldn’t figure out what I was waiting for because there were at least 3 – 4 staff members joking around doing nothing(a pet peeve of mine). Finally, I was brought back to have my hair shampooed. Initially I was going to give this location 2 stars based on the wait time, but due to the lengthy wait, I was given a complimentary deep conditioner(with aroma therapy heated towels), so I added a star. I don’t remember my haircut lady’s name, but she’s blonde and perhaps is in her 30s. She lives in Missouri City. She did an excellent job with my hair, especially since I was extremely nervous. I hadn’t had a haircut in 2 – 3 years. She braided it properly for Locks of Love, and Visible Changes takes care of mailing the hair for you. She cut off about 16 inches, still had hair slightly below shoulder length, and managed to incorporate layers into the haircut. Despite my trepidation and denial of some suggestions(such as shorter layers in the back, longer in the front), she was pleasant. For $ 28(American Express not accepted), the washing, cutting, and blow-drying is not a bad buy at all. Most importantly, the haircut I have is low maintenance, doesn’t require blow drying, and needs minimal brushing. This fits my personality, which is what hair’s about, so I’m glad I came here after all!
