Visited both the Houston and Santa Fe Galleries and am graetly impressed with both the intimate nature of the gallery spaces and the exceptional artists showing at both galleries. A fresh breath of air for both art scenes.

In a swell concrete building cube lies a few different galleries, so see them all. My friend knows Wade, and he showed us around and was incredibly down to earth and friendly. Beautiful male staff.

A modern gallery with parking and across from Kam’s Chinese Restaurant. Today, the art consisted of drawings of chairs and… gasp…a broom! Came for a fundraising event that had free drinks and light bites. Nice gathering, a bit loud with the DJ, but hey, it’s a party!

This is another one the galleries that shares the same building as Peel, Anya Tish, Barbara Davis, and Wade Wilson. Once again just a small simple gallery.

Wade Wilson is situated in the gallery quintet of this Montrose(Anya Tish, Barbara Davis, Peel, Wade Wilson – sadly the last name escapes me) building which is generally a good outing on opening night. The crowds are present, but I’ve never felt overwhelmed and have always been able to appreciate the artwork at their openings. This particular gallery has always been friendly to its guests. I’ve never been disappointed by the shows it houses. The artwork in my experience has always been powerful and thoughtful, minimizing the wtf? moments that art shows can sometimes have.
