Walburn David MD

Dr. Walburn is an amazing Doctor! I love how he takes the time to answer all my questions and explains himself well. He is great with my son and has seen him since the very beginning (3 days old appointment) I never feel rushed and appreciate how he greets me as he passes by the waiting room. Even though his office is a bit farther from my place I don’t mind the drive because he is just that great!

Dr. Walburn is the best pedi in Houston, maybe even Texas. He has seen every child in my family for over 30 years now. He is so sweet to the kids. He had to give my son a shot on his last visit and just he just kept telling him he loved him the whole time. You don’t find doctors like that anymore. He is so hands on with the kids to. He explains all his tools before he uses them, and lets the kids «play» with it so they are comfortable. The little details he remembers about me and my son are what gets me. I’m in my mid 20’s and he still remembers things from when I was 4 yrs old and compares them to my son now. If I have more children, they will only be seen by Dr. Walburn.

I just wanted to give a shout out to Dr. Walburn. He has now been our pediatrician a little over a year, being my daughter is 13 mo old now.
I researched all over the internet for a pediatrician while I was pregnant. Dr. Walburn by far has the best reviews, so I went in to ask him some questions. I had a page filled with questions to ask and he took the time to answer each one. A huge topic for us is vaccinations. We have decided not to do any and while Dr. Walburn’s office administers vaccines, he supported us and did not pressure us to do so. That was such a relief, considering most Houston pediatric clinics require all vaccines recommended by the APA. Im not here to discuss vaccines though! I just wanted everyone to know, Dr. Walburn is open minded and will support your decisions (within reason I’m sure).
Another major plus– he will take calls! Many times I have called in, unsure if I should come in, and asked for his opinion. I will leave a message with his nurse and he will promptly call me back to discuss the situation. It has saved us trips to the office and given us peace of mind. His philosophy is not to bring a healthy child into a place they can get sick.
He came to check on the baby and myself in the hospital, which was nice, I know he has hospital privileges at a few of the major hospitals.
I have seen kids in their teens waiting to be seen my him, so he sees everyone!
AND he usually can squeeze you in the same day if needed!
We highly recommend him and are so happy we found him!
