I would have given 5. The were fast and not terrible prices. When ordering I asked if their spicy food could be extra hot. He said ok. Got home, I didnt have any spice or hot. It was still good but missed the kick. Ill return again, even without spice, food was good

We decided to go back to Howell Kitchen and were pleasantly surprised to see that the nut job that once worked there and tried to charge me an extra dollar for an extra bag of soup noodles is gone. Although the egg rolls are still small and the spare rib combination is short two ribs down from 6 to 4 the food is very tasty and the owners are very nice. I think its the best Chinese take out food around. There are some tables if you want to eat in but I wouldn’t recommend it as the tables are sticky all the time and it is predominantly a take out place so there is constant traffic in and out. I would give it a 5 if the rib combo included 6 ribs and the soup noodle bags were larger along with the tiny egg rolls. Everything is getting smaller but prices.

I guess these guys got a new store manager or they just let this restaurant go. Howell Kitchen used to be, in my opinion, the best Chinese food place in all of Monmouth county. You would go to different Chinese food places, or go to your friends house and have their greasy, fake Chinese takeout and you would be so grateful to know that at least you had an amazing Chinese takeout like Howell Kitchen. I would have company over from New York and I would get this takeout and they would be blown away. Now, the food is incredibly different and not in a good way at all. I would kill to have their original pork fried rice back! I recently had their chicken lo mein, something that I used to devour, and it tasted so strange like almost flour-y! I had to add loads of soy sauce to it just to shovel it down. and the rice used to be so good, but now it’s like this strange texture and color with some raw onion and pork to authenticate it. I could cry knowing how good this food used to be and how it’s suddenly gone. And how could I forget the egg rolls. They used to be golden, crispy, meat and veggie packed, salty but not too overbearing with a hint of sweetness from the pork. Now, if you bite into one, it’s falls apart! God knows what is in them now, I had to spit it out after the first bite, I was disgusted. Who spits out an egg roll??? DONTWASTEYOURTIME, ITSNOTTHESAME!

Probably the best Chinese takeout place in the area. I usually have to go all the way to Crown Palace in Marlboro for good Chinese food(mostly dim sum), but this is great in a pinch and way better than the other places nearby.
