Metro Salon

I have very thick, wavy hair that I let grow all the way down my back and cut up to my shoulders (to donate) about every 18 months. I recently moved and needed to find a new salon so I went to metro because it is right near my house now. I wish I had done a little more research because this was the absolute worst haircut I have ever gotten.
First, I waited 25 minutes past my appointment time to be seated in a chair. When I was sent to the sink, the woman that washed my hair asked almost everyone in the salon to come feel my hair because it is so thick. Not only is this embarrassing but to me, but I am a paying customer, not a mannequin head on display. Alyssa Marie then cut my hair and I asked her to cut it in a ponytail so I could take it home and donate it. I have done this multiple times before at other salons and every other time it was no issue. She just went ahead and chopped all of my hair off letting it fall to the floor. I asked for long layers, a little longer than chin length. She questioned my choice many times and told me I shouldn’t do it. Again, I have done this drastic change many times before and have always been pleased with the results because I know what to ask for and my hair grows back quickly. She cut my hair so short that I couldn’t even tuck it behind my ear and she cut layers into it that fell right at my cheek bones and looked horrendous. She didn’t listen to anything I asked for her to do. Thank hid my hair grows quickly or I would be even more mad than I already am. Then it took her over an hour to blow dry what was left of my hair.
To top it off, I was charged extra for this haircut because I have thick hair.
I will never step foot in this salon again, nor could I recommend it to anyone.

I had a coupon and was very nervous about who I might get but I was very pleasantly surprised. Giana did such a great cut and color for me. I will definitely be going back.

Like many others, I used a groupon and walked out paying more. I have dark brown hair and I had showed a picture of what I wanted, which was partial balayage-​esque highlights. I also stated that I didn’t want the highlights too chunky, I didn’t want them too blonde and I wanted them more sparse, almost peek-​a-​booish. What I received was the exact opposite. After the hairdresser put foils in my hair she took a peek and said «oh no, your hair colored much more quicker than I would have thought — we can make it darker but it will cost you an additional $ 20». Being a sucker, I paid it and it didn’t fully even click that I was just paying for the hairdresser’s mistake. When I got home and was able to look at my hair in the natural light I was shocked and embarrassed. I have many hairdresser friends who were horrified that I even bothered to come to this salon, as I guess its known to have a bad rap, but it was a last minute thing and I was in a bind.
I had considered contacting the salon to see if they will fix my hair free of charge, but judging from what others are saying that will not go over smoothly so I’m taking it as a loss.

If I could give this place negative stars I would, that’s how bad the «service» was. The stylist and manager were very unprofessional and EXTREMELY rude. I was told one price and charged another. The stylist didn’t seem to even want to do the cut and highlights from the get go which is why she jacked up the price. Worst experience I’ve had at a hair salon. Left the place before they could damage my hair even more.

I got a groupon for a cut and balayage and was very nervous about going somewhere new. I usually just let a friend cut it (for basic cut). I am so happy I tried this place. Giana did such an amazing job on my color that I will def be returning, even though it is like 45 min away. I am blonde and just wanted to lighten it a bit and have it look natural, I also wanted to get a side bang (I was nervous about this too as i have really long hair). She listened very well and gave her advice, which was great as I only had an idea of what I wanted, and I am so happy with the results! Thank you so much Giana!
I got a gel manicure here as well and its been 2 weeks with no chips :) I also appreciate that they told me how much the fee would have been without the groupon at the front desk so I had a better idea of how much to tip.

Best groupon purchase ever. Giana did such an AMAZING job on my balayage. She was even able to match the clip in extensions I brought in and cut them to look natural in my hair. The salon was cute and clean and the entire staff was very friendly. I was hesitant to use this salon because of other reviews online, but I would absolutely recommend this place. I definitely found a colorist who can finally match my hair to the picture I bring in. Couldn’t be happier with the results and I didn’t have to spend a fortune! Absolutely will be going back to Giana whenever I need pinterest-​worthy hair!

This salon was everything I wanted. I used a groupon and didn’t experience any snob attitude — no issues there. Making my appointment was a breeze, the receptionist was friendly and helpful. I saw Gianna for a balyage and a cut. She was so sweet and gave me exactly what I wanted. I have very long hair and wasn’t slapped with an extra fee for that. Salon was clean and PROFESSIONAL. If other reviews are making you think differently about visiting please don’t hesitate to see for yourself. I will definitely be returning to see Gianna! I love this place! I cannot stress it enough. I’ve been going to Lauren W. at Metro for over 4 years now and in my entire life I’ve never gotten as many compliments on my hair or had as healthy and easy styles as I have had since. The whole staff is really great, but Lauren is my girl. Also, their pricing is better than most. I’ve had numerous intricate color services there and I pay actually less than I have in the past for less work. They aren’t pushy about products and it’s always clean and busy. Great atmosphere, everyone is polite and conversational. I look forward to spending a day there, and feel awesome when I leave.

I have gone to Metro on and off but i finally found a stylist I like… Ask for Lisa. she is awesome… love my new cut :)

Lauren W is a Ouidad-​trained curly-​hair expert, and my hair looks incredible. Her expertise and the Ouidad products have my have looking perfect. I’ve received more compliments and comments in the past week, than I have in the past 5 years!

I just came back from Metro Salon and I had a great experience. I used a groupon for a cut, partial highlights, conditioner treatment & style. After reading some reviews, I booked my appt with Erica who was wonderful. I was greeted immediately, was offered water, coffee or tea and was given a freshly cleaned and warm towel for around my neck. I was very nervous about trying a new place & new stylist, but I’m glad I did because my hair came out gorgeous! I will definitely go back, with or without a groupon.

I came here for the first time after buying a Groupon for a cut, conditioning treatment, and full highlights. I left very happy!
The salon itself is not spa-​quality — very small, some outdated finishes, but I prefer quality hairdressers over salon furnishings, so it was fine with me. I liked that when I was asked if I wanted a drink and I asked for water, they brought me a large cold bottle rather than a small cup. Sometimes it’s the little things.
My stylist was Dana, who was very nice and did a great job on my color. Everyone who worked in the salon was super friendly. I was very happy with the services received. And guess what — they don’t treat you like a criminal for using a Groupon, which is a rarity nowadays!
