Planet Fitness – Howell

The trainer made me feel at home. Showed me the set up, asked about my Monroe planet fitness, and I appreciated it. They keep it clean with one worker wearing a ghost busters looking vacuum on his back and the others stocking and wiping. This one is a little smaller with more open rooms instead of like Monroe with bigger separators. I’d recommend this planet fitness. I still don’t understand why jugs of water are intimidating with all p.f. lol

I know these places are frowned upon by gym nerds but they fill a niche and do it well. The place is very clean and comfortable. I’m a bit amused by a gym that serves pizza, bagels and tootsie rolls but and it’s odd that a place that calls itself a judgement free zone has a huge sign on the wall describing «lunks».
My only issues have to do with how busy the place can be and the staff’s unwillingness to enforce the rules. I know they can’t do anything about a crowded gym but they should do a better job keeping people from sitting on workout machines socializing and/​or talking on their cell phones. I don’t mind waiting for a machine if someone is using but it is annoying when someone sits on a machine for 5 – 10 minutes clicking around on their phone.

Smile and be friendly!!! These kids need to quit congregating so much and actually talk to their customers. I have yet to be asked «how are you?» or told «have a nice day». It’s not a positive atmosphere you feel. You Definitely don’t need 4 – 5 people holding up the desk. Speaking of which, put the scanner on the counter so people can check themselves in. I don’t like having to wait for someone to put their conversation on hold, turn around, and look at me like I’m annoying them just to scan my card.
As for equipment, the only thing I would request is Dumbbells that go up to at least 100lbs. A free style bench would be nice as well. The locker rooms are nice and the tanning booths are great. Haven’t tried the massage beds yet.
Promote healthy drinks as well. I saw a sign that said «50% off drinks for black card members» and I didn’t even realize they sold drinks. I finally saw the little drink cooler by the check in counter.
This is my 3^rd PF I’ve been a part of and its my least favorite. I would blame it on the old saying «You get what you pay for» but the other PF’s I was apart of didn’t make me feel unimportant and customers shouldn’t have to pay for common courtesy.

Super clean. Plenty of equipment. People that work there are friendly. Much cleaner, nicer and less $ than Golds in Howell ($ 400 yr.) Can’t beat $ 20 a month for PF Black card. Black Card: Work out at any PF in U.S., free massage beds/​chairs, free tan, discount on Gatorade etc. Can’t stress the clean part. See employees cleaning all the time.
