After spending over $ 800 and 3 service calls with another company with the prospect of $ 2k more without a definitive reason for my furnace malfunction I called Schutz. Lena was so helpful and had a tech at my home in Ann Arbor the same day. Ben determined the issue during that service trip and I learned that all of the work previously done by the other company was not at all related to my issue. New furnace installed the next day. Very comfortable with this company highly recommend and they are now getting all my business.

ill start by saying i did not have them provide service. while the man i talked to on the phone seemed very knowledgeable when he quoted a price of 400 – 500 $ dollars i assumed that was the holiday weekend rate as it was 250 $ more than the 2 other estimates i had gotten. when i asked if that was the weekend rate i was told its the standard rate. when i mentioned it was so much higher than other quotes he tried to defend it saying they are professionals and any one else would probably not do the job right… i wont name companies but both of the other companies i called have many good reviews and have been in business 30+years… moral of the review… call around and price check.

I hired Schutz heating and cooling in 2011 to install a new furnace, air purifier, A/C, hot water tank & thermostat based on reviews on Angie’s list. I had 8 different companies come to my home prior to hiring them for estimates for the job and without a doubt I felt they were the most reputable and knowledgeable to our circumstances and needs. We are very pleased with the products, employees and workmanship that took place. Recently we had regular maintenance performed on our furnace and they discovered my older built in humidifier wasn’t working due to a bad sensor. The tech unfortunately wrote down the wrong part so upon returning to fix it(a 5 minute job), he recognized the problem right away. Instead of telling us sorry for the mix up, we’ll have to come back later with the right part, he went to his van and brought in a brand new humidifier and rewired the thermostat spending well over an hour on a Saturday during the busiest time of the season. Who does that? He also checked our furnace thermostat(the high tech digital screen one) to make sure we are getting the most out of the product. He furthermore said we don’t do business like that and made it right.
