A local hidden gem, Tom’s is the best local bar in the area. Friendly people, great prices, and never closes before 2 a.m. A must try if you aren’t pretentious and enjoy a great, chill crowd.

This is dive heaven. It’s everything you ever dreamed about biker-style dive bars to be. A couple of really cool bikes out front, a nice cool inside bar with a few TVs, and bunch of great regulars. As soon as we walked in, we obviously stuck out among the regulars, and we were greeted by one who shouted, «We’ve been waiting for you!» We laughed and joked around with one guy who appeared to be the leader in the bar. He noted that we must not be «from around here» and asked where we were from. Despite us clearly sticking out, he was friendly and soon the rest of the regulars made us feel right at home. We sat at the bar and began chatting up the bartender and a few of the regulars, beer was $ 2 a mug and we enjoyed a few of them. One of the regulars(who appeared to be the leader of the group) bought us a round then played a game of pool. Lots of fun stuff to look at on the wall which reminded my husband of his lack of man cave and his own personal collection of wall hanging material. The husband bought me a Toms Tavern patch and it was that gesture where we decided that it’s time to buy leather jackets. The husband’s next observation was the $ 1 jello shot, deviled egg, pickled egg sign. He asked me if I ever had a picked egg before and when I replied No the bartender, and some at the bar said we had to have one. I am sure they were entertained by our initial reaction but the pickled eggs were alright, not good enough for a second one though! Before leaving we bought a shot for the regular who bought our round earlier. It was his call and he chose some kind of Apple liquor, and it was awesome. It’s too bad that Tom’s is so far away. They have plenty of specials, a digital juke box, and an awesome crowd of biker«tough guys». They may look intimidating at first, but if you’re friendly they will be friendly right back. We will return to Tom’s with or without our leather jackets.

Good bar for a quiet night, cash only but you can come in with 20 and have a decent time. Bring quarters for pool and singles for the juke. Pool table is a little beat up but you’ll fall in live with it. Lots of regulars so 90% of the time is a hassle free evening.

Dive Alert: In a good way. My vision quest to belly up to each and every dive in the northeast tristate continues and lands me here in Howell NJ at a place called Tom’s. What do I want in a dive? Funny that the only guy in the suit & tie sits in the middle of this18 seater kinda stubby penis shaped including testes bar poses this question Lol. Well it always starts with cheap drinks & shots. $ 1 ice cold drafts and sub $ 2 shots works for me check. The décor must be completely dated with a musty smell of many beers gone by check. An easy warm feeling that makes you feel your home even if your the only one sporting all your teeth or bandanaless check and if that sounds like your home I apologize next rounds on me. No eye candy and an old ass friendly bikerish crowd(ex biker). No nothing pretentious about this joint and dirt cheap eats available as well as long as you don’t mind the dirt Lol. Pool table & dart board to pass the time while another cold $ 1 draft goes down nicely with the $ 1 jello shots. Yep worthy of a quick pop in during your dive crawl, I know I’ll swing by when in the area for 1 or 2 or…

Nice little out of the way dive/biker bar. Cheep beer and bar snacks. Don’t come here with an attitude or you might just have a hard time making it out the door alive! Pool table and a couple of video games.
