Cheesesteak was bangin. Really good bread. Everything else, standard diner food in a dated space. Some things are $.50 or a buck more than you might expect, portions weren’t huge, but it’s an OK option. Based on what we overheard from the regulars, the dinner specials are worth a try.

Ok, so we were passing through and needed to get some breakfast down our gullets, and being from Jersey… you can’t go wrong with a diner right? While we didn’t go wrong, this joint didn’t rev our motor much… just basics on the menu, crazy eighties ambiance, and light on customers. I had a smoked salmon, toasted bagel, and cream cheese with lettuce, tomato, and yellow onion. It was fine. My partner had a broccoli and cheese omelet with rye toast and a corn muffin. All good. Service was OK, prices were fair for what was being offered.

We sat for probably 5 minutes before being offered a «menu». Menu was non-existent. They had a dirty, stained piece of paper in a sheet protector like you would use for your kid’s school assignment. The food choices on the piece of paper was very few. The kids(5, 7&7) ordered drinks and were brought 3 oz cups that should be offered only to toddlers. Naturally they were still thirsty but, we opted not to refill, as these cups cost 30 cents less than the normal sized 8 oz cups! I ordered a Cranberry juice but, it was horribly tart(and I love Cranberry juice so this is saying something) so I didn’t finish more than 3 sips of it. The environment was very dirty and out-dated. Waitress was less than welcoming, very inattentive and was clearly bothered by my unwillingness to order food from this greasy spoon, hole-in-the-wall dive. I do not recommend wasting your time or money!

Didn’t want our hotel breakfast so we opted for Colonial Diner instead. Breakfast was hot and prepared just as I ordered. Came back second day waitress already remembered our drink selections from day before. Nice people hardworking and priced right. Don’t expect fancy but in my opinion a good breakfast.

My family and I went to the diner on a recent trip to Howe Caverns. The hostess was friendly and sat us immediately. And then we sat there, menus in hand and no waitress. The two older waitresses chatted with«regulars.» Eventually the younger brunette waitress came by and tool our order. The food was nothing to write home about, but fine. The elderly waitresses, that’s another story. If they are only interested in fraternizing with the locals, kindly post a note on the door. We got the message– outsiders not welcome! We ate the rest of our meals at the Howe Caverns Café. They couldn’t have been nicer and the food was great.

I went to this place for lunch, it was good, at least my burger was… The staff serving was pretty good(young brunette waitress) she was polite and accommodating. The burger was cooked right but did not have a lot of flavor, the toppings were fresh, and fries were cooked well. Nothing special, decent food for a decent price… I would go there again, and try something else, I don’t like to paint a restaurant with a brush, after experiencing just one meal. If you are hungry it is worth a try…

Can there be a zero star review? This place would get it. Food was HORRIBLE. Prepared with NO care to taste or presentation, slapped on plates half-cooked and nasty. French fries were pretty much raw in the middle. Burger was unseasoned patty cooked on a flat top so it was soaked in grease. Drinks were fine. They got the order right, which isn’t a big plus when the food is this poor. Run-down surrounding like something out of a 70’s movie complete with painted drop ceiling. Quite pricey too. About $ 50 for five(two children, three adults).
