My husband stopped at this sweet little spot en route from New York to Michigan! It is such a unique place with a gift shop in the front and a coffee shop in the back. The gift shop features clothing and jewelry and items from local artists and the young man who was operating the coffee shop and served us was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about coffee. Highly recommended!

These guys deserve some respect. You should probably take your hat off and go give these guys a hundred bucks. Because, I don’t know, they probably deserve it or something. They decided to venture forth into the scary small business world just to provide the somewhat bleak suburb of Hubbard with good coffee. More of this type of thing need to happen in small towns. All Culturehouse consists of is a young couple with some coffee. And their roaster and a pour-over bar and a small espresso machine. It is just a coffee bar, not even a coffee shop, that is located in the back of a store that features locally handmade arts and goods. As Matt C. says, they micro roast coffee in very small batches and only have two single origin offerings at a time. Which is an excessively simple way of doing things. I asked for the Ethiopian and the girl ground it in a simple Baratza Encore(just like the one I use at home) and poured me up a cup of coffee. I was very impressed by their simple ways. And as an added bonus, the coffee tasted good.

Tucked away in a boutique shop on Liberty Street(aptly called«The Shop on Liberty Street»), this is a hidden gem. Owners Stephen and Mary are truly passionate about bringing amazing freshly roasted coffee to their community. They micro-roast the coffee one pound at a time, and they hand pour everything to order. With only two coffee origins at a time, the focus is completely on the coffee that is being featured at the time. This allows complete attention to detail, and an all around fantastic cup of coffee. I look for more than a good flavor in coffee, I look for an entire atmosphere. Culturehouse is where it is at!
