This is a specialized game store. They do not have most games. Just what they make.
Apparently Game Workshop owns/​makes warhammer, warhammer 40k, and a similar game with tolkien’s middle earth cast. Warhammer is a tad like Warcraft to 40k’s (the year) Starcraft?
These are tabletop games with figurines (that you paint yourself). The game play is a table-​top war method that is crossed between Starcraft and Dungeons & Dragons? I’ve played warhammer 40k a few times. It’s fun but I wouldn’t want to paint my armies. You can buy online custom or pre-​painted stuff but it’s at least twice as expensive. Buying the armies is a little expensive starting out. They do have starter sets around $ 100 if you can pick between all the cool races.
The best thing about this store is that they host games and tournaments all the time. It builds a community of other warhammer players you can play with. It takes a little getting into but if it sounds like any part of this could be your thing, go in and check it out.
I’m sure the workers are better at explaining and selling their own product. They also have stores in the other big cities. Cincinnati, Columbus, and Cleveland have game workshops but regular game stores sometimes sell and host warhammer stuff too.
We went in waiting on a friend at Verizon (they’re the slowest and worst). We expected to browse a game shop but instead found a neat specialized store. Dayton and huber heights are lucky to have one!
