Cheap and yummy hotdogs. Be prepared to wait a couple minutes though, they are always packed. The guys behind the counter work their butts off to get everything out fast.

The value choice is definitely 3 «WW» (with the works) dogs for $ 1.89 with a side of cole slaw (66 cents when you buy 3). It’s also the best meal in the house so why stray from it?

A go to for lunch for sure. good dogs… good price… how can you beat the price and service… in and out with 3 dogs with the works. my kind of lunch… no room for more than 3 people inside ordering at the counter though

$ 1.89 for 3 dogs. And they are delicious. Enough said !! Takeout only as inside is big enough for about 3 people. They offer numerous fried foods which are also great tasting and very reasonably priced. Don’t let the outside fool you on how great the food is. Best deal, and dogs within miles.

Best hot dogs around. I love that the place hasn’t changed much since I was a kid. The fries and milkshakes are great too!

I would love to be able to give this place 5 stars, but I’ll explain why I don’t below.
Overall, this is a great little place to get some dogs and fries. Currently, three dogs will set you back $ 1.89, and you can get curly fries and a 20oz soda with it for about $ 5.50 total.
One of the perks of this place is that they grill the buns. This adds a while me dimension to the dogs, and sets them above the rest.
My one complaint is the quality of the hot dogs used. They’re kinda cheapy. This could be countered by slicing the dogs lengthwise and grilling them also, but as is, I can’t recommend the hot dog itself. If you don’t like buns and only want the dog, skip it.
Other than that, the fries are great, the prices right, and it’s an overall great place to get a bite.

Fast, good hot dogs at a good price. Curly fries are great. Get the works on the hotdogs. Cash only! The prices has gone up over the years $ 1.89 for 3 now, but they are still a great deal.

This is a great hot dog place. Located just down the street from me, it has become a staple in this house hold. The prices have gone up over the years, but so has everything else. The only place I know that locally offers minced onion rings, just ask for them, they are my favorite! Always busy and very little parking so be prepared.

Great food for cheap prices! It’s in a small shack which can make for a tight squeeze if there is a lot of people in line. Otherwise it’s a great hidden place to get good food!

I had decided to check out the Dog Shack during my travels when I was looking for a nice, inexpensive snack to have. If you’re looking for a few hot dogs to split amongst friends, you can’t go wrong with the Dog Shack’s 3 hot dogs for $ 1.79 special (the price went up a little bit) This is a small establishment with limited parking. Their main specialty is the hot dog, with some complimentary toppings such as ketchup or mustard. Some toppings do cost a little extra, but the price is certainly reasonable.
While I wasn’t a huge fan of the taste of their hot dogs, I certainly won’t discourage others from going here, especially when the Dog Shack offers excellent value (and was the deciding factor to give 4 stars instead of 3).

I wouldn’t mind if there was a dog shack in heaven. It wouldn’t be mandatory like Mr Bs but I grew up at this place. Ever since the days of 3-​for-​99 and hanging out with uncle louie at OTB you gotta love this joint. Order yourself 3 with the works and get some fries or fried mushrooms on the side. Don’t dare look behind the counter b/​c you’ll get scared and lose your appetite; not too mention you’ll smell like your clothes were used to mop the floor at KFC. Regardless, the Dog Shack is an institution and I applaud the efforts of the owners through all these years. Recession resistant and still pleasing to the palate. The dude gives his seal of approval. I’ll put the «shackers» up against dirt dogs any day and win. The only better dog around is Mandys. Here’s to you Uncle Louie, Rest in Peace.

Great place, good food! I think Dog Shack has the best hot dog sauce around. The prices are great, and I never leave feeling hungry or dissatisfied. The place is a little run-​down and cramped, but don’t judge a book by its cover with this place.

I’m amused (and vaguely traumatized) by the complaints about the prices going up here – my goodness, could the food be any cheaper without putting these nice people out of business? (We live near a place in Brooklyn where the hot dogs taste half as good and cost $ 5 apiece!)
After finding the competition down the road closed, we used our nifty Unilocal app to navigate our way to this place, and are so glad we found it.
The folks behind the counter were super-​friendly, the dogs rocked (we went «old-​school» with sauerkraut and mustard instead of the more «advanced» options like chili dogs, etc.), and the onion rings were the best I’ve had. The buns were lightly toasted – and sublime.
Our order was bagged up and we sat in our car in the Dog Shack parking lot devouring our meal, watching the rain, and feeling joy in the knowledge that unadulterated bliss can still be found in the most unexpected places.

I have to admit that i have not been to the dog shack in years (i think it was still a buck for 3 dogs with the works) but i highly recommend getting the horse radish sauce. I used to drive by this this place and scrape up the change on the floor of my car just to get some. It is a must have, but get um to go there is no place to sit inside so move along.

The price keeps going up… now they are 3 for $ 1.69! Still awesome though.
