Ahh… in an area with one over priced Mexican place in Hudson, and a very average Tex-Mex in Chatham, this place is pretty fun. It feels pretty authentic to me. Maybe I’m just always hungry for Mexican food when I go, but 3 times I’ve been, and 3 times I loved it!

Good takes FOREVER! I have been there when it was super busy and when it was me and one person at the bar, no matter how many people there are it always takes so long for any food to come out! Set aside at least an hour and a half of not more for a super simple meal that you could make at home in less than 10 mins. The only really good thing is their homemade salsa. Also in the winter it is always FREEZING cold in there, and I am ALWAYS hot so this was strange for me to be cold.

Love the food. It’s authentic and delicious. The restaurant is not fancy on the outside or inside, but the food is very good and presentation is nice. We have eaten here many times over the past few years. Service is good. Friendly staff. Sometimes we needed to wait a bit for our server to come back to our table, but that was because it was busy. Don’t forget, good food takes time to prepare! In the summer you can sit outside and eat.

Great little place in the middle of nowhere. Looks like a shack, but read the reviews and decided to go for it. Wait staff was slow, drinks were way too expensive, but did have booze in the, But the food was outrageous! I ordered steak fajitas. She said how I wanted them cooked which surprised me(Definitely not Chili’s) I said medium rare and damned if they weren’t medium rare. Even on the Sterno burner

This was just okay. It’s like their having an identity crisis. It’s sort of authentic Mexican and sort of Americanized Mexican which makes it just kind of weird to me. If your not one who’s truly experienced Mexican then I’m sure this place is wonderful. There was nothing wrong with the food just that it was not really what I was expecting from a nice Mexican place run by Mexican Americans. I left feeling unsatisfied to be honest but for rural New York it’s alright. I’d give it 4 stars except there are several other Mexican places with in 30 minutes that are vastly superior to this and actual authentic Mexican cuisine and at a better price with just as or even more pleasant of an atmosphere. If your local or in the are and hungry I’d eat here. If you have 30 minutes take a trip to Great Barrington and try the Mexican over there.

Yes I am aware I am in Hudson, NY and not my home Jackson Heights, Queens where we have REAL authentic Mexican food. While the food itself is fresh its Americanized. The portions are small and overpriced. $ 12 for 3 tacos? Its $ 7.50 in Jackson Heights… The food selection is limited the only thing I enjoyed was the Flan… so I won’t be back…

Ate there on a Friday night, the parking lot was jammed. It was pretty crowded inside but got a table right away. My bf had a margarita, it was loaded with alcohol! The service was excellent and the waiter was on top of the drinks and food. Our food was tasty, colorful not boring like the usual tex-mex food. I would definitely recommend this place.

Came here with my wife for dinner around 5:30 pm on a Thursday. Place was clean, trendy with good Mexican flair and color. Had a small bar that could fit approx. 20 people around it. I had heard that they made good food here so I wanted to give it a shot because Mexican is one of my favorite foods. The chips and salsa they served were very good, a bit oily but tasty and the salsa was homemade and fresh tasting. they gave us three different styles to taste from mild to hot. The service was definitely a bit slow considering when we arrived the dining room wasn’t close to full with only three other families present. Our waitress was friendly but we had been visited by three staff members so it was confusing as to who our waiter actually was. The young man who took our order wasn’t familiar with the food items. We asked him what Mole was and he was unable to provide an adequate answer. We were not impressed that the staff at a Mexican food restaurant couldn’t explain a menu item. Never-the-less, we placed our order and waited. We enjoyed a couple of cold beers that they serve in iced glasses which was a nice touch. When our food arrived, it was very hot and smelled delicious. We were both impressed with the freshness of the ingredients and the overall taste of the food. It was authentic in the recipe and ingredients and they served decent portions. We would good back and we are hopeful that the staff there can get it together. I think this place would be a 5 star pick if they can bring the staff together to meet the quality of the food.

The food was on point, the service was lacking that personal touch. It was a bit busy though, so I will give them a mulligan for the service.

I found the food freshly made and reasonably priced. Good portion sizes too. Small and intimate in size. I enjoyed myself. Clean with clean bathrooms also.

I’m from NY. I’ve lived in Brooklyn for the last 10 years… I’ve had some of the best Mexican food in Sunset Park and have visited various areas of the Yucatan peninsula over the last 5 years… I just wanted to put that out there as a qualifier for those trying to discount my ability to tell the difference between good and bad food. That said… Coyote Flaco started off with fresh salsas and sauces which I would have a truly difficult time believing that they were not prepared that day in the restaurant. No store bought stuff here. The margaritas were strong and tasty. THey seemed smaller that the usual huge glasses provided at other places, but my date was plastered after two. Food was wonderful. Seafood seemed fresh(had shrimp) and the mole was wonderfully rich. Even the rest of the folks there were engaging. A few regulars provided some nice interaction without being overbearing or rude. A nice change from Brooklyn. I could have opted out of the interaction without offending and had a nice private date. If you are looking for privacy, they have a small separate room with two tables in it. Prices were around $ 18/entrée for dinner. Margaritas were between $ 6 and $ 15 depending on on whether you wanted well or not. Some were just great including the cilantro and jalapeño margarita. Total bill with tip came to $ 100 for two people. Half of the was the booze. Completely worth it.

Typical tex-mex food. If you’ve always lived in columbia county, you wont know the difference, if you haven’t your going to have to get used to the fact that this is ‘as good as it gets’. I don’t know how far you’d have to drive to find a comparable place. If you live near enough to know this place exists, its best to either eat outside or right at the bar. We’re not a fan of the smells coming out of their bathroom. We go there whenever we want ‘mexican’ food.

One of the worst meals of my life, Mexican or otherwise. The service was very sweet and nice, but the food: meh. Don’t bother.

I live in Greene County and for Mexican this is the place to go. The prices are fair, the wait staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is great, and it’s easy to travel to. My friends and I really enjoy this place.

Wow, really enjoyed this place. and luckily I live right down the road :) Really great quality food, had the enchiladas suizas and the chicken was all white meat. They make these neat little dishes out of corn tortillas for the sour cream and beans. They give you chips when you sit down which I think is a necessity for a good mexican restaurant. Had a really nice waiter, but wish they had more seats outdoors, as we came just as the last outdoor table was scoffed up! Will definatly be back!

We’ve had better Mexican food elsewhere, but certainly a decent enough place for middle of nowhere, which is where this restaurant is. But this is not a place you should feel you need to go out of your way to visit. Prices are okay, but the portions are tad too small. Service can get bad, as this is a small place and doesn’t have much help when it gets crowded and parking can also be a problem. We probably will not likely go back there, unless the mood strikes just as I drive by it.

A really great find in an area with few restaurants. Décor is sweet and service is good. Food is excellent – the tamales a real bargain, chicken or cheese with a side salad. A nice spot for a margarita and quick lunch or dinner. We will be back

Been here a bunch of times since they opened. The food is very reasonably priced and the tastes are good. I’m pretty happy about the state of mexican food in the area(although a taqueria would be nice)…awesome burritos in Philmont, good/reasonable and fast sit down Mexican in Claverack, and impress the client Mexican for dinner at Mexican Radio.
