On the recommendation from the desk clerk at our hotel we headed to Inn on the Gulf for a grouper dinner and boy was she right. Best grouper at very reasonable prices. Since we had been on the road all day we went for the early dinner — a bargain if you can get there before 5:00. I had the broiled grouper dinner which included soup or salad, rolls, baked potato or other choices and a very large well cooked piece of grouper. My husband had fish and chips which is also grouper and comes with coleslaw as well. If that was not enough we topped off dinner with peanut butter pie. Definitely highly recommend Inn on the Gulf.

After a long hiatus, my Sunday dinner group returned to find the restaurant renovated beautifully and a new menu which had so many new dishes, it was difficult to choose one. The staff was delightful! Can’t wait to go back this Sunday.

Always a favorite family dining spot near Hudson Bay, when we come to visit. Consistently good seafood. The broiled Mahi Mahi($ 19) was delicious, although it was drowning in oil and butter. Mom and Dad had large portions of fish and chips($ 10), fried in what looked to be quite old frying oil. Portions are large. I’d like to see grilled seafoods offered, as there are only fried or broiled options. More greens on the menu rather than buttered green beans, broccoli and iceberg lettuce salad would be welcomed. Service was very friendly and efficient.

Best happy hour special on the Gulf coast. Great wait staff, the Owner/Manager, Mike is the best. You won’t find a more accommodating and friendly guy in the restaurant business. And you get a beautiful view for a sunset on the Gulf !!!

I honestly don’t know how anyone could post a bad reviews about this restaurant. I have literally never had a bad experience nor a bad meal at this restaurant I frequent it often. The people that did not give it 5 stars or people that you can never satisfy! I know for a fact that at least two to three of the owners are always there so they are always watching over everything that goes on in that restaurant. The quality of the food is stellar!

Visited again and food was good but service was non exhistant. Waited over an hour to be served after orders were placed. Tables all around us received their food but we just sat. No apologies, we were just ignored like we were not there. So we walked. Probably weren’t even missed. Probably forgot to hand in order. Did not see waitress again. Maybe shift was over. Good by.

Great location & beautiful views. The rooms were very nice and clean. We had a blast at Sam’s across the street. This was our first time staying here… but it won’t be our last.

Came in here for a late lunch and was greeted by a expert server Mandy. We began ordering outside but were surprised to find out that smoking was permitted on the patio. No worries, we moved tables and had a lunch inside. The grouper came highly recommended and I’m happy to report this was the best fish and chips I’ve ever had! So fresh, succulent, well prepared, batter tasty and not heavily breaded. Yum! Would definitely return!

Tried their famous grouper sandwich. Not sure how it became famous. For the price you would think the sandwich would consist of more than a piece of grouper and a bun. Gave me three little slices of dill pickle and a tiny bit of coleslaw. The service was just ok. Won’t be visiting the Inn on the Gulf again!

After finding this hotel on Unilocal,we decided to give it a try since it had been recently remodeled. We were very pleased with the room. The bed was very comfortable, as were the pillows. The bedroom and bathroom(which is a little small) is separated from the sitting area and kitchette area. That adds to the look and feel of the room. One disappointment was you couldn’t get a wake up call. The other was their alarm clock wasn’t the easiest thing to figure out how to set. Good thing we had phones. No one at the office to check you out in the morning to let you tell them about the good or the bad. The manager was kind enough to get us into the restaurant on a busy night. It happened to be February 14th and we had not made dinner reservations. The food was wounderful! We both had the trio of grouper, shrimp, and scallops. Crab cakes were had as an appetizer. The server was pleasant and our glasses were never empty. The only complaint about the restaurant was the restrooms. They definitely need an upgrade.

Great location and fast service. The stuffed grouper was very good and the crab legs were delicious. My wife loved her lobster and fried shrimp. Big portions too!

We were desperate for something to eat! The Inn on the Gulf popped up on Unilocal & we decided to try it. It was a fun place right across the street from the Gulf. We got seated right away & offered happy hour. The waitress came right away & was very helpful. I had the Manhattan Clam chowder. It was delicious! My husband ordered the clam strip basket which were fresh & cooked perfectly. I ordered fish & chips(grouper). It was fantastic! So happy we drove down! Definitely a local & snowbird favorite!

Great view, low key, casual place with good seafood dishes. Calamari and coconut shrimp were delicious. Oysters, so-so. I got a combination broiled seafood dinner that was good but had the same heavy salt seasoning on each peace — could have been a little lighter but still enjoyable.

I recently took a trip to visit family in Hudson, and they took me here for lunch telling me it was pretty decent. Let me state — I am giving it a 1 star, but I do think there is some potential here, but it was without a doubt the worst dining experience I had on my trip. The service was good enough, our waitress accommodated our requests, however she committed one fatal flaw for me — criticizing the menu choices of the place where she works. I don’t care how gross or how strange you find menu choices where you work — that’s not how you sell a dish… tell me how much you love it, even if its gross — or give me another option that you think is good if its that appalling. Anyways, the food — the true disaster here. I started with a baked potato soup — it was as if it wasn’t stirred in a while or never finished or I don’t even know — maybe watered down — it was too thick in spots and too thin in others… if the texture was consistent it might have been good. But the watery down taste really flooded out any flavor that might have been there. Next we had calamari and the crab stuffed mushrooms for apps. The calamari was tough and tasteless — we ate about 2 and then my dining companion had it wrapped cause he didn’t want to see it go to waste. The mushroom was too tough — it should have cooked a little longer, the crab was overly fishy tasting — almost like it had gone bad. And I don’t know if mozzarella was the right choice of cheese but also should have been heated longer, maybe even with a little bubbly crusting? The bigger foul in this dish was there was absolutely no seasoning. This will be a running theme here. I ordered their seafood Alfredo for my lunch dish — the good points — the fish were cooked wonderfully(so there is potential). It had scallops, and shrimp. The reason this dish was awful — no seasoning. While some might find cheese and seafood to be a faux pas — I enjoy a good alfredo, but it needs seasoning — at the very least, salt and pepper, maybe go a little crazy and throw in some parsley! If the folks here can learn to pick up the salt and pepper once in a while, I think they could solve a lot of their problems — but until then, there is no hope.

Great seafood + waterview = AWESOMENESS! the menu offers a comprehensive selection for water lovers and land lovers. The restaurant had several rowdy parties when we went on a Monday night, but hey, it fits in with the restaurant’s atmosphere. I got the grouper. Native white fish to Florida. It came with 2 sides: Manhattan clam chowder and steamed veggies. The portion is HUGE! 2 people can definitely share a plate. The chowder was good. I wish they gave more steamed veggies because eating a big fish gets overwhelming after awhile without veggies to break up the monotony. Our group also got the seafood combination. The scallops were cooked right! Not chewy. Perfect consistency.
