McCabe’s Garage Door

We used McCabes to replace our 2 garage doors. Not only was their estimate significantly cheaper than another company’s, but they also offered a $ 150 discount for senior citizens! The installer showed up on time, and the whole job was done in less than 4 hours. The installer was polite and well-​spoken. All in all, I would highly recommend this company.

I had McCabe’s Garage door come out to change the 2 springs and add 2 safety wires to my garage. He came within the window of time he’d offered. The work seemed done well and efficiently but too expensive for what it is. He worked about 45 minutes and this cost $ 330. I asked about this pricing and he noted his hourly rate is $ 75 plus parts — wish I’d bought my own parts at Home Depot first!, they would have been about $ 20 for each sping. I asked about making sure everything was tuned up and in good shape, but was told that would cost an additional $ 49. He put his service contact sticker on my garage without asking my permission. In summary, I think the service is good, but about twice as expensive as what it should cost. Icing on the cake, my garage door stopped working the next day, because the electric eyes weren’t properly aligned after I asked him to look at them — it would have been part of the $ 49 service, I guess.

When I was gathering estimates for the replacement of my garage system, I noticed that Duane McCabe was the most attentive to detail and asked me to do some work before he came to ensure everything went smoothly. I appreciated his honesty and got a good feeling from him.
We picked a date and he took about five hours to finish the job. He is clean and professional and respected the property. He is very knowledgeable of everything that has to do with garages. I found out through Duane that it is standard for new systems to come with a wireless keypad entry system. I thought it funny that another company that was quoting me for a similar setup acted as though they were throwing in the wireless keypad entry system for free. I would highly recommend McCabe’s Garage company.
