Four of us came for lunch on Sunday. No host/hostess in sight, though entrance sign said we should wait for him/her to seat us. Once a waiter sat us, we were on our way to a series of waitstaff mishaps. He didn’t give us his name(shorter, redhead, with a hat). He took forever to get us waters – and refills for our drinks were AWOL. He brought our food 40 – 45 minutes after ordering it – and only after I reminded him to go check in with the kitchen for us. Because of his inattention for us, I had to stand up at least 4 times to go fetch him and request him something standard he should have brought for us or at least offered(e.g., napkins, ketchup for a burger, refills). Food itself was hit or miss. My seafood boxty was plain. My friends’ salads and burger were fine, though. I’m not sure I’d come back to eat here. To drink, however, that’s a different story. Waitstaff was super attentive and prompt with those tables ordering alcoholic beverages. Even with this bad experience, we left him an OK tip to «return an insult with a blessing.»

Stopped in on a Saturday night, pretty busy as it seems to get, not sure why they were short staffed, needed 2 bartenders and more servers, bartender had to keep leaving bar, 4 ladies next to us sat forever without being asked if they wanted another! We bought them a round feeling bad for them, they were very appreciative, if husbands were not next door they would of left, our food was ok, Salmon was tasty but the bacon needs to be crispy, it was fatty and undercooked, his Ribeye was over cooked, but not hard to do, it was the thinnest I’ve ever seen! And fried Red onions on the steak? Little strange, seen the staff drinking, not suprising when you let servers get their own drinks, one server poured a glass of wine for customer, then she poured wine into a red plastic cup which i thought was strange, then she guzzled it down! WOW! Bartender was enjoying a beer while working too, they all seemed very stressed! You need more staff on busy nights!

A true hidden gem. The best Irish pub I’ve been to in the Midwest. Thus far, I’ve tried 3 types of Boxty, Boiled Bacon and Seafood Chowder. I have yet to be disappointed. The wait staff is super friendly and even pretends to speak with an Irish accent. I think it’s cute and funny. This has become a must stop when I go through the Hudson area. P. s. This is the first 5 stars I’ve given a restaurant, and my boyfriend usually yells at me for being a tough food critic, if that says something.

Look for TA Truck Stop exit to find in baby strip mall on N side of 94. The food is awesome, unbelievable to find in a field E of Hudson — Cheese Country. The Corned Beef & Medallions, in the Boxty, are so tender and lean they melt in your mouth. If they have the Irish Boiling Bacon Do order it — this is not your Mama’s bacon.(Closer to Canadian bacon) Plan some extra time for a few brews, next door, at Pitchfork Brewing.

I have been here a few times and the food and atmosphere has been okay. This week a party of 6 were treated very rudely by the British accented waitress. Two of the party were from Denmark and France. They were talking about a work related issue. Apparently this waitress overheard the conversation and construed that we were«bigots» and«if we wanted better serve we should act nice». We were all dumbfounded and asked her for clarification and tried to explain who we were she only responded that we were typical Wisconsinites. She said she was the Owner so we paid and left without tip. One person forgot his cell phone on bar and went to retrieve it and it was gone. He asked if she had seen it and she said no. While questioning further another waitress came over and found it next to the cash register. The first waitress handed it over and said«if your friends F… me over and not tip I will F… you over». We were not driving together and found out about this at The Postmark Grille where we had a very nice dinner while deciding we had done nothing wrong and will never attend Paddy Ryan’s again.

Our family stopped here for a quick bite to eat on the way home from a long road trip. I found this place on Unilocal & after checking out the menu, we decided we’d try it. It didn’t disappoint! The waiter was nice, funny and the food was great! We ordered chips(Poutine style), onion rings, calamari & cheese curds. We left nothing on our plates. We would stop here again anytime we pass through. They have a good beer selection too & a great root beer!

Started with Rueben dip — this was good. Group of 3– one had Irish steak sandwich — this was good Cuban sandwich– ok– too much bread not enough meat Dub liner Chicken-Chicken was grilled — small Amount of cabbage– bacon was under cooked. Chef said it was cooked in the cider. It would be much better if bacon was cooked crisp. Tried it — won’t be our first choice to return.

We were here on a Friday night. Restaurant was very busy. Ordered the fish special. Food was very hot. Their famous fries were just ok as was the fish. Service out of the kitchen was slow but as I said they were very busy. Don’t order the house red… not great. Though I think the server tried to warn me when she said it was a blend.

We have eaten here a few times in the last six months but last night’s meal was by far the best so far! The salmon was delicious and I was pleased that it was served with a tasty potato pancake & buttered green beans – lots to eat! The service is always friendly and attentive – one of our favorite restaurants in the area… a must try!

Had a great meal hear. This is walking distance from the TA truck stop. To all the truckers this is well worth the walk it .4 of a mile and the price is about the same about the TA.

Bar pasty, cheese curds and the seafood boxty were all amazing!!! Head over to Pitchfork to try their latest beers and then you can have food delivered! I was told that their brunch is heavenly as well as St Parties day is super crazy and fun!

Dinner was great. Ordered two prime ribs which came with real mashed potatoes and green beans. The steaks were very tender, juicy and tasty. Next order was the Lasagna Bolognas. Huge portion and served with fresh green beans. The lamb stew was the best!!! Very tender meat. You could taste the greatness of the meal with the first bite! Will be stopping by here again

Wouldn’t know how to rate the food because once we got our Sunday brunch menus, we didn’t see the wait staff again. They were overwhelmed, most tables had no food and were waiting, so we took that as a clue to split.

I’ve never had a bad meal here, and the servers are all super nice, attentive, and helpful. Real, authentic Irish food, large quantities, and a great beer selection. It’s worth the drive! My favorites are the fried green beans and the soda bread. Definitely try a boxty! This is also an awesome place if you have a large group and/or lots of little kids — just avoid the prime hours when they are super busy and you’ll have a great experience. A better location or a nice patio would make this place perfect but either way, don’t change a thing inside because I love everything about the style and décor.

Aside from it being off the beaten path this place is so great. Very clean and roomy. Awesome servers. A huge variety of beer and scotch. I got the sausage and potatoes and it was amazing. My husband got the fish and chips and it was also awesome. Not drown in grease and breading like some fish and chips. We also tried the pretzels and ale mustard. Best. Mustard. Ever. I wish we lived closer to there more often.

I give this place 4 stars just from having the Belfast seafood Chowder. It was one of the best seafood chowders I’ve had and I’ve been all over the country and in the Deep South, it rivals Savannah, GA’s She-Crab soup! It was loaded with very fresh seafood! Baby octopus, mussels YOUNAMEIT!!! I had the seafood Boxty and it was also delicious. Our server was perfect. I have no clue why I haven’t been here before and I live in Hudson! There are about 10 Other menu items id like to give a whirl so I’ll definititely return. They could do a much better job making the atmosphere more«pub-like» on the downside.

They now serve weekend brunch and I was excited to give it a try. We had excellent service as the place was empty, which is disappointing as the food is generally quite good. The irish cream pancakes are a must try, and their breakfast boxty is fantastic(as are the dinner boxtys). The price is also very good. I would have given 5 stars but I also tried the corned beef hash, which should have been amazing considering that this is an Irish pub, but unfortunately, it was terrible! My recommendation is to go for brunch, just avoid the corned beef hash, everything else is worth the trip.

The bar side of this establishment if okay… I personally don’t care for the looks of the dining side as it was just a big room that looked more like a supper club with no flair or décor and it did appear that a lot of people take the kids and I am not into sitting by little ones when I’m out for the night. My bartender was professional and I had a chance to watch him with some of his regulars and could see that he is just a calm cool collected bartender that is taking care of business. I like that they have a good selection of liquor and excellent beers in my opinion on tap. My food was just okay nothing to complain about but nothing that made me yearn to get back either. I had the potato boxty with beef medallions – the husband had a fish sandwich. He was not very impressed. There does seem to be a strong following of locals here that all know each other. I will go back and see what it is like on a different day and time.
