Stay True Barbershop

I first met Corey while he was working at another barbershop in early 2014. The first time he cut my hair, it was perfect. Before then, I had struggled to find a decent barber or cosmetologist who could make my hair look good. I since returned to that barbershop almost every time I needed a cut, and would wait until Corey had an open spot. Unfortunately, that establishment only accepted walk-​ins, which meant I had to wait a couple hours on busy days before I got in the hot seat. Since then, Corey and that barbershop have parted ways, and he has opened his own place — Stay True Barbershop! I apologize for the lengthy review — but it’s well worth your time!
Corey is not only a master barber, he is a LICENSED master barber. I know this is iterated throughout his reviews, and I would like to add to those. He is a perfectionist. He pays close attention to what you want in a haircut, and he delivers exactly that. Every time I’ve gone to him, I’ve left a happy customer. It’s all about the details with Corey. As a medical professional, one thing I’ve noticed is how accurate he is with his free-​hand technique. He also keeps his hands steadily rested on your head when cutting hair in particularly tough areas. This use of reference points and skills results in a cut unmatched by any other barber or cosmetologist. One of the great things about his shop is that it also takes appointments, which you can schedule online! It’s a great system, and takes the waiting out of getting a haircut.
Corey also takes great pride in what he does. He works hard, his positive attitude is infectious, and his knowledge of pop culture, taste in music, and news makes it fun to carry a conversation with him. Furthermore, his hard work is readily apparent in his barbershop. First of all, it is clean! All the instruments and brushes are kept clean and in aseptic germicide fluid. During the haircut Corey washes his hands multiple times, which I greatly appreciate. He also has a great playlist or vinyl record playing at most times. Finally, toward the end of the haircut, he details any lines and touches areas up with a straight razor (with warm shaving cream). The warm towel at the end makes the experience better than ever. Not only is the experience great, but since Corey tapers the cut and pays close attention to detail, your hair remains looking great even after it grows in. That is a true test of a superb barber.
A haircut is like any part of your wardrobe — and Corey is like your personal tailor. He will make you look sharp, confident, and ready for anything. I highly recommend him to anyone and everyone who wants his hair looking great!

Been getting cuts from Corey for about two years now. There really is no one else that can match his level of consistency for the caliber haircut you’ll get from him. I’d definitely recommend calling ahead to see when appointments are available — in the two years I’ve been going to him I’ve only been able to get a cut just on a walk-​in maybe once or twice. That said, he definitely respects the time his customers give him, and has never given me anything short of a spectacular cut.

Excellent new shop. Easy location to get to. I can’t say enough about the owner, Corey. Excellent barber, super personable. I’ve been going to him now for about 2 years and it’s awesome to see him with his own shop finally. You will not be disappointed!

Corey’s the best! Every time he cuts our sons hair he gets so many compliments! I’m always impressed by his amazing cuts. He’s great with kids and a very talented barber.
