If I could give negative stars I would! BUYERSBEWARE… I don’t often write this much detail but feel compelled so that others can avoid the problems and stress we encountered. In May of 2015 we contracted West Coast Pools & Pavers to redo our entire pool area including the tiles, pool surface, spa, coping and pavers. They committed to a 10 day completion although that was never in writing so shame on me for not making sure that was documented. We were asked to look through catalogues and find tiles, colors, pool surfaces etc. that we liked and they would have samples in their office for us to review. When we arrived they had none of the items in house. Lisa the owner’s wife did not even remember me sending them to her and apparently had not called because when she called the rep. while we were there he commented on the phone(as it was on speaker) that he needed some lead time to get samples to her. We had given the sample request 3 weeks prior. Right then we should have known they did not have their act together but we found some we really liked so we moved forward. The start date was May 27th when they vigorously began the demolishing of the pool surface and tiles. After that time we were given dates when they would return but rarely did they show up or call us to let us know what was going on. We would call, text, and email with few to no responses. We went full weeks with no one showing up at all. When they did come they did a shoddy job of resurfacing the pool with many major divots and areas of sharp corners. When I brought it to their attention they said they would correct it but never did. We upgraded to a jewelscapes® pool surface and it looked nothing like what we had chosen. There are so many areas where there are hardly any of the stones at all and the application is so inconsistent it looks horrible. There are 9 copings that are a completely different color than the rest of the pool and they refused to remove them and said that is how they came. Wouldn’t someone notice the colors are much darker and only 7 out of about 100 are a different color? Shoddy work with no pride in what they do. The blue surface was all over the tiles and inlaid areas on steps and I spent hours scraping it off as they left it without cleaning it up. They brought the granite spillover which did not fit correctly so when they came back they brought the wrong one. I was able to catch it before it was installed and then took another 8 days before the correct one got installed. They left the jets covered in blue bonding material and had to call them back to clean them up. There is unbelievable sloppiness in all of their work. The pavers on our deck was another nightmare as we had told them that the area near our patio slider was sloped downward and needed to be built up with sand to allow the water not to pool. When finished the supervisor Jim told us that they could not put any more sand under the pavers and of course after the first rain the water pooled terribly. The paving guy came back and said it was unacceptable and he dug up the entire section and brought in about 6 wheel barrels of sand and did it correctly with no further pooling of water, so much for the advice from the project supervisor who supposedly was overseeing this project. The pavers all have sand which has settled and was never sealed so now the sand has gotten wet and green mold is growing and when it rains hard we are having sand go into our pool because of lack of sealant on the pavers. We called them 2 weeks ago to correct it and they told me they would be by and everything would be taken care of in 10 days. Well 10 days 14 days came and went and finally Jim the supervisor showed up and said he was only doing the section Wayne(the owner) had told him to do and nothing else. How can you fix that when you haven’t even come by to see where the issue is. My husband had him leave. Beside the shoddy unprofessional and unacceptable work the following issues also occurred. They broke our screen door, left large amount of concrete all over our columns in the pool area, ruined part of our lawn as it was all dug up and had concrete left on it, left large pile of sand in the road, cigarette butts all over our property, broke our hose nozzle and did not say anything and cleaned out their equipment spraying blue bonding material all over our neighbors house and sand all over their car. They proceeded to wipe off the sand with a dry cloth. Luckily they did not damage the surface of our neighbor’s car. The actual job was completed July 29th, 9 weeks after being started. I can understand some delays but 7 weeks really? I strongly urge you to stay away from this pool company and if you are unfortunate to have already signed a contract, keep good notes, take pictures and don’t pay the final bill until everything is taken care of or you will regret it as we are doing. I am providing pictures to support much of what I have written. BUYERSBEWARE!!!
