Agave Azul

We have eaten here a few times and love the family that runs this place. The food is excellent, the service is over the top nice. We even had them cater our wedding and it couldn’t have gone better! They are the best!

Ok, so very very rarely do I gush about a restaurant much less Mexican restaurant. But Holy S#€*%# this place was awesome. Best Mexican we have found in the valley. They Fresh make tortillas both corn and flour. Portions are big. The rice and beans are truly the best I have had. Wow Wow Wow well done Agave Azul can’t wait for the full bar.

Can’t get enough of Agave. The burritos are awesome! 2 thumbs up.

Absolutely terrible service unless you’re known as a local good luck. Food is horrible much better off just going to the truck or down to cocos on hughson st. Way over priced and service sucks. Best of luck. Zero stars had to walk out after seated for an hour and didn’t even get chips or salsa.

Great food, good service. Look forward to the bar being open for sure! The burritos were AMAZING and the guac was to die for. This place is out of the way for me but VERY much worth it.

Great food, great experience, and great customer service! Went to this place 30mins before they closed on a Sunday and stayed a little after they closed and the waitresses there were really nice from the beginning till end. They didn’t seem to be in a rush to get out of there or anything, very helpful with questions I had about certain entrees on the menu and they also suggested different options. I will differently be going back again and I’ve already been recommending this place to friends and coworkers. Hopefully they keep up there great work and customer service.

Great food, just be prepared to wait a while. They’re super nice, but don’t have the quickest service. So, if you’re not in a huge hurry, check them out. They’re a nice family-​owned business in our little town.

Normally I love this restaurant. We had dinner tonight, the food was very good, however the service was awful. So this review was about the service.
The hostess/​busgirl was very nice. But our server could care less. She totally ignored us. The restaurant was not very busy, another table got there about 5 minutes after we did, they got the male server and were taken care of right away. Our server was still nowhere to be found. We had to flag down they guy so we could order drinks, she finally came to deliver them, took our order, brought it then disappeared again. She finally brought our check, then was gone never to be seen again. I paid at the register once again the guy helped me, I told him how bad our service was and he seemed embarrassed.
This female server has been there a long time, I don’t know what her problem is but she made it clear she didn’t want to serve us. As we were leaving another couple got there, she immediately went to them and was so nice to them. Maybe she doesn’t like to serve Mexican people.
How sad that such a great restaurant has someone treating their customers like that.

Called to order agave enchiladas. Asked if they had white meat for the chicken. Lady said I think so. I said ok well if it’s not white meat, I’d like carnita meat instead of dark chicken. She said its shredded so I’m sure it’s white meat… I get my food home and the tortillas taste stale and are chewy… And the chicken is definitely dark meat. $ 16 down the drain because I can’t even eat it. I’m super disappointed!):

Omg delicious chicken wet burrito with green salsa ahhh! I will return very soon. I wonder if they serve micheladas…

I ordered take-​out from here a few weeks back. The service was a little confused, but nice. My enchaladas were good, but was really disappointed when I opened my «side of guacamole». Literally one tablespoon of guac. Certainly was not homemade. What the heck? The container was so small I couldn’t even fit a chip in it. That’s just not right!

Their food is good and unique. No complaints with the food. The service is slow. The servers are nice. Just seem to not be organized or have a good game plan??? Don’t go there if you are crunched for time.

We came in for lunch during a busy hour. Despite being busy we had a great time here. Most importantly our food was delicious. The only con was the time it took to get our food out. But other than that our food and drinks were so good. We will definitely be back!

Great food. Way over priced. I think they raised their prices since last time. $ 13.00 for 2 tacos, rice and beans? Guess I won’t be eating here as often. Bummer.

Their margaritas are AMAZING and the food is good too.

I ordered some carnitas And they were raw.
No one was there to seat us when we arrived. Tables were dirty. One of the owners was dressed like she just got out of the gym. And was in a bad mood making faces at customers. And even worse she went to the front of the restaurant and was hanging out with three guys that were smoking. Our waiter was not attentive. And no one asked if we needed anything and that includes the owner. Also the salsa was terrible. This restaurant needs a complete redo. It’s not just about investing money and expecting it to run itself. You have to put in work. Establish a relationship with your clientele that way they can be return customers.

Let me describe Hughson for you: there is about 5 places to eat IN THE ENTIRE TOWN. Needless to say I frequent this place with my co workers since we all work in this tiny 1 street town known as Hughson.
Every time me and my co workers come here, we say «yeah let’s try agave Azul! Why did we ever stop going there?» and every time we come out and we say «ooohhh yeah… that’s why»
The food is okay. standard taqueria food. I would like to point out that the molcajete is pretty amazing both to look at and to eat!
However the service is slooowww!
So slow that it makes you want to dine and dash! (that would be to eat and not pay if you weren’t aware)
And it’s not even because you want to, it’s because you just wait so long to get the check and you just get frustrated and want to leave!
We go here 3 – 4 times a month. (refer to my first paragraph as to why) and lack of refills is common place. Taco Tuesday is a fun concept. $ 1 taco truck-​style tacos! However why can a taco truck make 8 tacos (two orders of 4 little tacos) in like 5 minutes, but it takes them 20 minutes? What’s going on back there?
The waitresses are nice enough, but they are so focused on serving the newest table, they tend to neglect the other tables. They also usually mess up our order, but not too bad. Typically one of us will say no onions, or no beans, something and they include it and it’s like «ugh,… fine. I’ve waited long enough, I will just eat it».
Staff: nice
Food: not terrible and not amazing (but that’s not a bad thing)
Service: frustrating
