Lakewood Memorial Park

The funeral was on Jan. 13^th and they were amazing. From start to finish they were very helpful and caring like almost dealing with a friend. The pastor provided Michael Douglas was AMAZING, can not say enough wonderful things about him. I was scared when everything started and about all the horrible things I had heard about funeral homes over charging but with Lakewood everything was beyond fair and up front.

We have been to several funerals here. The staff is so warm & compassionate. Both of my in-​laws are buried here too. The grounds are absolutely beautiful & serene. They have recently built a new Chapel & visiting area.

the funeral on August 5^th was excellent. Odd doing a review on a funeral, but it is important to know what to expect when dealing with any provider, so you can count on Lakewood to be a class act.
We opted for the original chapel as it is more cozy and open than the new chapel that is dark, cold and large. If you don’t have a mob attending, go with the original.
Mother-​in-​law looked wonderful. We were stunned at how good and natural she looked. Flowers sent in were arranged nicely and the staff was there to seat us and brief us. We had a toddler with us so they helped us keep him away and occupied in another part of the chapel. Very helpful.
After a viewing and service they asked us to leave so they could take of the jewelery we wanted returned, close the casket and roll it out to the herse. There were gloves and boutiniers for the pall bearers provided.
The grave site was lovely. Canopy up and boards and sides of grave were laid and covered with carpet. There was not a sign of dirt, so they must have put it in a truck and put away for later.
Nice service and we left.
We returned later in the day, near 6pm and the grave had been closed, the casket spray on top of the replaced turf and, again, not a sign of dirt.
We put flowers in her husband’s vase and left satisfied that we had honored my wife’s mother and that the entire process would have pleased her. Overall, the funeral capped that busy week and we were happy that we used Lakewood.
