Generally, I love Braum’s and would rate them with five stars — especially since we don’t have them anywhere close to where I live since Braum’s only opens stores within a certain distance from their dairy. I stopped here in Hugo for a burger because I was going to the Busy Bee, but didn’t get there before they closed at 2:00pm. Braum’s burgers don’t come close to Busy Bee, but they are usually pretty good. I’ve had them numerous times over the years. Unfortunately, the Hugo Braum’s failed. This was a 3pm on a Tuesday and it was not very busy. It took a while for them to cook and when I opened it up, the burger had been mutilated and was in numerous pieces. I had a hard time keeping the meat from falling out. The tomato was also smashed. It’s like they beat the thing when they put it together. Hopefully this was an isolated incident, but first impressions are everything, and the Hugo Braum’s didn’t leave a very good one.
