The library was completely renovated after being flooded quite a few years ago. I think it was during Tropical Storm Allison. We were the first person back in when they opened their doors. They had a great kids area. We have been going there regularly since so my kids took advantage of the library and programs. They are now in college. It is small and regretfully, the builders have been throwing up subdivisions at record speed and it has become more difficult to use the library. It is just small now for the area. It needs to expand. Many of the new local residents do not drive and as the road has not been enlarged, I feel it is dangerous for the kids walking to and from the library. Aldine Westfield needs sidewalks by the library. It is quite the popular place for the local residents but it would be nice if it was safer. It is right next door to Mercer Arboretum. I always loved to grab a book and head to the Arboretum to read it on one of their wonderful swings. Weekday are best as it is less crowded. I have to say they have the most wonderful genteel librarian, Cindy. I think people ask for her assistance as she has such a warm helpful personality with a beautiful rich southern accent and dresses to match. Enjoy the Harris County Libraries!

I love this library because it’s small and homey. The librarian is an aWeSoMe character! Great activities year round. Crazy hours, so check schedule before showing up. The best part is that it’s right next to the mercer arberitum. Support your local libraries!!!
