This place is awesome if you like getting terribly burned because they don’t change all the light bulbs at once in the beds. Before a family trip to Puerto Rico, my whole family decided we had better get a little color on our white selves before spending a week at the beach and getting burned so we headed to Elite Tan. They usually have banners out front boasting specials like«Free tanning for a year with purchase of lotion» to draw people in and it worked for us. I had been tanning at Darque Tan on a level two bed to get some color for my friend’s upcoming beach wedding and already had a nice base tan so I paid for one use in a level two bed at Elite. The max time on the bed was 15 minutes so I requested the max. I was using a lotion with just a bronzer in it, no tingle for me, but after about 6 minutes in the bed I felt like I was on fire. I couldn’t stand to be in there anymore so I got out and met my family. They all went for 5 minutes in a level one bed. After a couple of hours at home we were all complaining that we felt hot like we were sunburned. I looked in the mirror and noticed a sunburn in really weird spots — a couple of lines on my back and butt and a weird line on my front side as well. We all had the same weird sunburn and none of us were even in the bed for ten minutes. After we got back from PR my mom went back once more since she had paid for five tans. She only stayed in for ten minutes and somehow her face got so sunburned(in a bed without a facial) that she got blisters and peeled really bad. The places looks really nice and is clean but that’s the only good thing I can say. When one light bulb in a tanning bed goes out, you have to replace all the light bulbs in the bed for an even tan but this place clearly does not do that. I do not recommend this place to anymore. I normally don’t give such harsh reviews but this place is actually damaging to your health. Go to Tan Makers right down the street if you want to tan.
