I took the family here on Mother’s Day for Lunch. We ordered an appetizer with our drinks. I hate it when they bring the appetizer out with our main order so you have to make a choice on which plate you want to let get cold. The waitress who I assume was new took our lunch order. I listened to the specials and ordered the Trout with Penne Pasta. She asked if that was the first special she read and I said yes. Not good. I then asked if our appetizers were ready and she said she would check. Fast forward to our lunch and appetizers arriving at the same time. Fail. My biggest gripe however was that my grilled Trout was swimming underneath a soup like pool of cheese sauce. When the waitress came by to ask how we were doing I pointed out the fact that my fish was under cheese water. She said oh and left. Fail. Later she returned with my bill and the Trout turned out to be $ 20. Usually I will give a place a couple of chances but not at $ 20 a pop. If you are going to charge those prices then your food and service needs to be on point because not too many people will return for a second try.

Horrible take on traditional Italian food. The meatballs on the spaghetti were tasteless and the sauce had no flavor other than tomato. The lasagna they tried to feed my kid was nasty. I wouldn’t feed that to a starving stray dog. We had a free coupon from my kids school or we would have never gone there. Will never go again.

Convenient location for those of us that live in Humble/Atascocita … it’s nice having a non-chain restaurant to go to considering that’s pretty much all we have on this side of town. My wife absolutely loves the signature hasta la pasta dish(she usually orders no meat, just the pasta). I’ve had a good sample of the menu over the years and they do a good job with just about everything. I can say I’ve never had anything bad(but at the same time, they don’t have a dish that brings me back here either). The dessert selection is well above average for the area. The waitstaff is generally the younger/college student types and the service is usually decent but maybe on the slow side.

Another place I’ve been visiting for the last about 8 years. Their food is good, location is fine, staff is very considerate and hospitable. Chicken Florentine is Wonderful, when they serve it. It’s a good place to go with family and friends, can have a very intimate setting and can reserve a room privately. There is take out, and a bar area. Really love what this place has to offer all around on their menu.

I really enjoyed my first visit! They have the BEST tomato basil soup I have eaten in a while. The service was good and the prices are affordable. I will go back again. The Death by Chocolate dessert was really yummy.

I read the other reviews and decided to give it a try. Yes, it’s in a non-traditional location, but once inside it was a very nice place. We(luckily) beat the Friday crowd. It seems to be divided into two different ‘areas’, one more intimate and the other… well… ‘busy’. I requested the tables with less people and noise. I chose one of their ‘specialties’ and discovered we were there for happy hour. Nice. I’m not sure what it was and it did not seem traditional Italian. I believe it said chicken but it tasted and felt like Salmon. I could not put my finger on it, how it tasted or felt like in my mouth. They won some award for it and it was actually very good. I’m glad I got it. I skipped the rolls spoken about in the reviews I read. I suspect they were good but I had a few too many happy hour things to explore. The place was nice, it filled up and did a brisk business. I was happy and will return.

Goo food overall. Lasagna with meat sauce is very good. Great service is hit or miss.

I went here during lent and ordered pasta with marina sauce only, along with their hot out of the oven bread rolls, the dinner was very enjoyable, and filling, even without any meat. I’d love to try it again soon, it a surprisingly fancy place although it’s located in a strip mall lol. Nice service and if you get MoneyMailer coupons in your mailbox, you can save $ 5. They also have happy hour which is always very nice.

I’ve given this place three chances. The first time there a waiter dropped an overloaded tray of dirty dishes next to our table and shattered glass got in our food. We’d barely started eating so it ruined our meal. The food had been so slow coming out that we didn’t bother asking for new food. The manager apologized and sent us a coupon for a free meal to get us to return. That would lead us to the second time. This time the food was ok, but the service was even slower than the first time. It’s too expensive for the barely mediocre quality. The third time I was brought here by a coworker who loves the place. They have a decent Mediterranean salad, but no better than Panera bead so just go there and save yourself some money. Plus Panera has wifi.

Hasta La Pasta is one of my favorite restaurants in the Humble/Atascocita area. It’s been around practically forever, though it’s been through a move and a few face lifts over the years. I don’t like the current location as much as the previous one because when the place is crowded there’s no good parking spots so you have to park over by Kroger and walk all the way down to the restaurant. It’s not a deal breaker, just inconvenient. I don’t come here for the restaurant itself though, I come for the food. To start the meal off you get hot, fresh, and crusty french rolls and this delicious stuff to dip them in. Every time I eat there I ask what the stuff is called but I can never remember the name. It’s olive oil with fresh garlic and basil in it and I like to add some of the grated Parmesan cheese that they have sitting on the table into mine as well. It’s what heaven would taste like if you could eat it. Make sure and order a side salad with the House dressing. The salad is freshly chopped romaine lettuce with tomato, red onion, pepperoncinis, and kalamata olives. The dressing is a creamy pesto and is to die for! I practically want to lick it off the empty plate when I’ve eaten all the salad. Sometimes the waiters go a little skimpy on it though so you may need to ask for additional dressing if you like a lot. Everything on the menu is good, with some dishes being better than others of course, and here are a few of my favs: The Lasagna. The best lasagna I’ve ever had came from an Italian restaurant in Germany, but this is probably the second best. It’s cheap and they give you a huge portion filled with beef, sausage, and creamy ricotta cheese and it’s covered in either the marinara or meat sauce and topped with fresh basil. I recommend the meat sauce. This dish easily feeds two people. The Hasta La Pasta. You can get it with grilled chicken, shrimp, and beef I think and it’s linguine noodles with a spicy cilantro cream sauce and roasted red and yellow bell peppers. This is one of the best Italian dishes I’ve had because it’s so unique. The Pizza. I admit that I’ve had some good pizza over the years but Hasta La Pasta definitely has a good wood-fired, thin but not to crispy, pizza. Try the one with pesto and grilled chicken. As for desserts, you have to try to tiramisu. They make it fresh and it’s the perfect amount of soaked lady fingers and mascarpone. Order it with some coffee to finish off a delicious meal.

The name of this place is kind of cheesy. I mean really, are we eating spanish or italian? And even then, «Until the Pasta». until what? Well anyway, if you can get over the name, you might like this place. The sauces are rich, but good. The serving sizes are about average(I can’t ever finish). I usually get the half/half spaghetti with meatballs & italian sausage and always leave full and happy. They make a good alfredo & their salads are very generous as well. This is a good place to bring clients, family, or a date because it’s not loud inside like so many other restaurants in the area and they are pretty good about seating you promptly. *FYI*: The map is incorrect. The address is right, but this place is not near Highway 59, it’s closer to Atacoscita. It’s actually just past Westlake Houston Parkway @ 1960 in the Kroger shopping center on your left(heading east about 8 miles, toward Huffman).
