Went here for my brother’s 52nd birthday with my folks, my hubby, my daughter and my brother’s wife and stepdaughter. This is the second time I’ve been here and always have a blast! The staff is great. The food is wonderful! The service is superb! What more could you ask for?! The first time we went was for my dad for a retirement dinner with our family. That was about 6 years ago or so. I want to give a shout out to the manager, Han, our chef, Fabio, and our host, Tsoy. Looking forward to going back, even though I think it’s a bit pricey, though well worth it. Thanks for a great job to all staff! Michele Brown

We always go for sushi. The sushi is always fresh, fast, and very good. I recommend the chopped scallop, white tuna and pepper tuna nigiri. The New York roll, Louisiana roll, HBII special roll and red dragon are our favorites. They have the best fried rice I have ever had, make sure you order at least a side of that even if you’re just going for sushi.

Coming from someone who has tried almost every hibachi in Houston. I have to admit this place is my fav restaurant in town. The chicken fried rice is delicious. I have noticed each cook makes the food slightly different but still great tasting. Hibachi steak, chicken and shrimp is what I usually get. They need a bartender !!! Mixed drinks aren’t that great as they should be since people usually go for special occasions.

Came for sushi and it wasn’t bad. The rolls were flavorful and had a decent amount of fish. The ambiance was pretty disappointing though, the place looked a little run down and kind of dead. Regardless, the sushi wasn’t bad and the service was good. I’m not sure if I’d come back for the sushi unless I was out of better choices, but maybe I’ll try the hibachi side.

First I had the Japanese salad. The dressing was gritty, oily, and tasted like old beef broth. I got the 1960 roll which was recommended by the waitress and it wasn’t what I was expecting. First, the whole thing was fried and I didn’t expect it to be. Also my co workers was fried so I dunno if he fried mine just because? Anywho, it tasted not so great. Hardly any unagi on the inside(like barely visible… maybe they just put the skin in there). Gobs of hot cream cheese and a little bit of salmon. Topped with fake crab meat and 5 different kinds of sauces. I will give it another try since this was my first time visiting. but I’ll prob go with the sashimi dinner

First off, this review is specifically for the sushi as I do not eat hibachi… anywhere as I find it useless. Yes, this is not a «fancy» sushi joint, but the sushi is really good and really cheap! Most expensive roll is $ 9.95; you can’t beat that! I am a HUGE sushi eater and eat it a minimum of 3 times a week, so I’m very, very, very picky with the sushi I eat. The sushi is fresh and delicious. My favorites are the 1960 roll and the tiger eye roll. This is the best tiger eye roll I’ve ever had in my life. And the 1960 roll is just WOW. The sashimi is also really good and you get A LOT for only $ 15. Service is mediocre as it is with most Asian restaurants ran by traditional Asians. People should know by now that customer service isn’t really a huge deal in Asia, so any restaurant that is managed by traditional Asians will be the same; just get it in your head already. I’ve been coming here for years so the waiter automatically brings me water, sashimi, and my two rolls. If you like sushi, you must try this place out.

This is the worst hibachi restaurant I’ve ever been to. There are no friendly staff available to greet or say goodbye to you. My husband ordered a filet mignon hibachi and he was given 5 bite size pieces of the steak and at least ½ a pound of sautéed mushrooms to make it look like he was getting a decent amount of steak. I ordered the salmon hibachi and it was dry and very salty. When the waiter brought me the food, he had this thumb on the veggies. I refused to send the plate back because who knows what they will do to it. I just did not eat that portion. This is our first time here and we will NEVER go back. They are over priced, the service sucks, and the food is not even close to being called a decent steakhouse. I would give this place a zero star but that wasn’t an option.

Slightly below average sushi. I stopped by because my friend’s flight was delayed. They did a bit to much of the sauce and cream cheese. The tuna didn’t have texture and it felt like ground tuna. The service was slow and I had to scavenge my sticks from the neighboring table. I wouldn’t come back here even though the sushi chef was nice and have me a bonus roll.

A friend of mine wanted to have a lunch date and she suggested this place. Of course I am all for trying new local places so I went. Of course as usual she was a lil late so upon arriving there I waited at the bar. As soon as I sat down I was assisted. That says a lot right there. So as soon as my friend got there we sat at a booth and she wanted to try sushi. Now at this point I was not a big fan of sushi seeing that I tried it before, but I gave it another shot here since it has been a few years since the last time. So I ordered the Spicy and the Crunchy Rolls. Crunchy was good, yet a lil sweet. The Spicy Roll is what I loved the most! The spicy mayo on top of the shrimp and crab meat roll got me! I found redemption for sushi once again with this place. Next time I do come back I will sit at the grill and try the hot foods since they were smelling wonderful.

I am new to Unilocal and just wanted to give HB a great review. Coming here for years great place for family, kids, friends or date night. The portions are large to me always leave with a Togo box for lunch the next day :) getting drinks is a bit slow unless you remind them constantly but everything is fairly priced totally a fav!!!

Less than one star. First soup had to be made from an old beef bullion cube. Second the slapped on a slab of butter onto the grill. Everything on it turned into a greasy mess. Went home an nuked a lean cuisine. Will never be back it was a waste.

Food was good but they added a tip to our check even though we had three checks. And they ran out of fried rice.

The food is decent. The pure stench of this place is beyond foul. It’s a mix of rotten eggs and sewer gas. The sent is a creeping out of kitchen/bathroom area. The owner was notified by several customers and says«he can’t smell it» rolled his eyes and walked away. My mother had her birthday celebration ice cream here which she promptly pulled out a long disgusting string of some sort from her ice cream. The waiter took the continued ice cream and three away before the owner could see the ice cream for proof so he didn’t believe us and never apologized or anything just rolled his eyes and walked away. I will never come here again. Asian city is way better anyways.

Good food. Great chef — very entertaining. Best fried rice I have ever had(yum). Prompt service. Food looked very fresh. Family had a great time. Good luck eating it all — we took a lot home afterwards. I will return. Thanks for a great visit.

Tonight is not the first time I have been here, though it has been many years. First the service was way below good, our poor waitress was officially elderly, I felt bad for her. The food was ok, nothing special. My rice tasted old and everything was doused is soy sauce, making the sea food too salty. The sushi we ordered was good. The eel was fresh and the drinks were made right, long island ice tea and mojito. If I want hibachi while in Humble I will likely go somewhere else. Though stopping in here for drinks and sushi may happen again.

Sushi was mediocre and small portions. Service took FOREVER; Edemame was cold and unsalted; we never got napkins and my mom had to get up and FIND water for us; they brought us sushi but no chopsticks. Don’t come here if you’re looking for quick and delicious sushi.

If you want hibachi or sushi in the Humble area this is the best place to go for taste and price. In the hibachi area they put on a great show for the kids and so much food you’ll have plenty of leftovers.

Not as cool as Benihana but decent. You can get stir fry anywhere. People usually go to a hibachi place for presentation. I was not completely impressed. Personally, I think they should cook the vegetables with the fried rice. The chef cooked the fried rice first, then the meat, and then the vegetables. It was A LOT of food! By the time we got to the vegetables, everyone was full. Be prepared to eat a lot.

HB is an ok place to go to. Its nothing amazing as in food taste but definitely not at the bottom of the barrel. The chefs put on a good show when they cook the food. Sushi isn’t too bad either. I tend to only go if im in the area and dont wanna wait to eat elsewhere for similar food.
