We recently attended the Houston Cat Show at the Humble Civic Center and loved it!!! Of course, getting to see(and sometimes pet) all those gorgeous cats was a huge hit with my whole family. The pricing was affordable($ 8 adults, $ 5 for kids) and the venue is clean. It’s big, but not so enormously large that you(or spacey kids) get lost. Being so centrally located with good parking is another plus for us.

Great venue for a wedding reception, party, or celebration of any kind. The building was clean, comfortable, roomy, and very nice.

I have attended and worked at many different events here and I must say that this venue is great. It has really nice facilities and works well with everyone involved to make sure that folks in attendance have a good time. My ONLY real complaint is that there is absolutely NO cell reception inside. NONE. They have made their wireless network available at some functions, but there were technical issues. I’m not sure if that was our fault or theirs. But the lack of cell coverage is rather annoying, to say the least.

This review is for the Humble Gem and Mineral show 2013 The advertised cost for adults was supposed to be. $ 7 minimum, but instead it was $ 8. The cost of students should’ve been discounted for college students too, though it was only for grade school kids. The show had about 50 dealers(dealers who buy from online gem sources, meaning they don’t do it for a passionate hobby) I noticed a lot of dealers having the same minerals and gems which wasn’t too much of a surprise. A lot of the dealers were selling their rocks for expensive bucks. No reasonable prices! Some of the dealers weren’t too friendly, but it was welcoming to see old faces that were at the Pasadena Gem and Mineral show(which was a good show) It was very crowded at this show with base minimum space to look around. The mystery bags weren’t so much of a new discovery because the dealers showed what you get before you bought it. Too many polished gemstones and minerals; I see not many people value rough stones as much as I do. I believe, polish stones don’t have too much value because when you tumble a stone to create a smooth finishing you have to cut, buff, and scrape off the pure beauty before you get what you want. A lot of jewelry was at the show, which was a okay thing. Although, they all were polished. My overall experience with this show hosted by the Houston Gem and Mineral Society.
