I had the pork trio ‚. Great choice ! Cucumber salad and fries as sides, like the spicy bbq sauce over the regular one Brought the family(5 adults) all liked their choices, there was a over change in our bill which they promptly corrected, Like the their fixings bar, and ice crew tops this good meal !

I am NOT a bbq person, but I love the staff and manager. The food and atmosphere is outstanding. Come by and give it a try.

Not sure why I thought things would be different. Like every pappa’s location, bland and fatty. Sides, drinks and condiments were in need of attendance as well. Not coming back.

Thanks for making it right, I appreciate the gesture. It’s good to see establishments extend themselves on behalf of the customer. Thanks.

Stopped this morning to get a breakfast sandwich. I love the jalapeño bun(as well as their regular jalapeño bread)…but the eggs were bland. BLAND… you all need to add a bit more salt to your eggs when you cook them, or maybe put a chive or two in them or something… because they tasted like… nothing.

I may not have the taste for BBQ but I do feel I didn’t get my money’s worth in the place. The ordering process seems rushed. I was grabbing food during lunch, and I had a in training badge, and the cashier asked how much I was paid which I do not mind personally, but her reaction makes it seems like she’s not happy with how much she’s getting paid here. Not quite the impression you want to give to the customer. Anyway onto the food, the meal I ordered was a ½ Chicken, with Linked Sausage, Ranch Beans and Mac n Cheese for the sides. the BBQ sauce was warm but however watery which doesn’t work. The beans were undercooked and still hard and needed a few more minutes and seemed rushed. The Mac n Cheese had too much milk and the Chicken was small and strongest flavor I tasted was black pepper. for 15 dollars, I expected more since I can get something more enjoyable in Popeyes or Boston Market since the main and sides were underwhelming. The reason why I didn’t feel I have my money’s worth is because Southern BBQ should be cooked slowly and thus should be more tender from the beans, to the meat, the mac n cheese needed to thicken. I had fantastic BBQ in Texas, Tennessee, and the Carolina’s, this is just meh. To me, being a chain is not an excuse. The pork was great but my stomach just didn’t agree with it a few hours later.

You’re typical Pappa’s BBQ, serving up the traditional meats and sides. They do a solid job and I might have given them a higher score if they hadn’t forgotten to include BBQ sauce with our large carryout order. The brisket and sausage we had just weren’t succulent and flavorful enough that they didn’t need the accompaniment of some sauce IMHO. The sides we ordered(potato salad and ranch style beans) were both tasty. Pappa’s isn’t in the top tier of BBQ joints and I wouldn’t call them«gourmet» but they’re solid for a chain restaurant.

Pappas was not impressive at all. My potato was ok, they were out of the meat I wanted(it was close to closing though). So I had to get the chopped brisket which was good but no flavor. The service was eh. I don’t see a need to come back anytime soon when there are other BBQ options that are much better in my area!

The meat was really good & it is really cool that you can watch them cooking/smoking the meat but the sauce is lousy & the fries that my daughter got tasted sour. I don’t know if it was from the oil they fried them in or from the actual potatoes. The other sides we got were pretty good though.

I have ordered large«value packs» from here on a few occasions. Typically, when I order from here, I am feeding 20 – 40 people. I have had more than on person tell me how much they enjoy their sliced turkey. I typically don’t like pork sausage regardless of where I order it. I don’t think their pork sausage is bad, it’s just not my preference. The staff at this location is friendly and accommodating. The last time I ordered here, I needed the food quickly. Chris was very helpful and had food for 40 people ready in about 75 – 80 minutes. To be fair, I have only ordered food in bulk. I have never dined-in at this particular location. If you find this review helpful, please let me know.

WORST pappas I’ve ever been to. The food was bad. Sour. Rotten! I ordered my usual 3 beef ribs with cucumber salad, and a side of fries. I was excited for my meal I was really hungry. My hubby starts to pay an as I taste my fry. Disgusting. Sour. Old oil taste but tasted soo sour like a rotten fish! I immediately told her to take it back. I start to eat my cucumber salad that was bad too. Bad cucumbers. My ribs were fine except when I got to the 2nd one it smelled so foul. I couldn’t eat it. I came with an appetite an left with a sour stomach. So disappointed

Order their burgers. Best in the city legit. Everything else is average I think but for $ 6 you’ll be satisfied

Craving a rib sandwich! Stopped by PAPPA’S BBQ to my surprise the drive thru line is long! I thought to myself I wonder what kind of special they were having. NAH There’s a young lady outside taking orders because their drive-thru order machine is broken. Dang– no special just a long line today for me for a well cooked rib sandwich, pickles, and pickled carrots. }:{

The BBQ was cooked nicely. I ate the sliced beef amd ribs and my father had a bowl of chili. I am not a big fan of Papa’s bbq sauces but i prefer the origional to the sweet spicy option(there was a flavor that was kind of gross).

Great sliced beef plate and real cut fries. Excellent meal. Line flow went quick for a Sunday lunch meal. Place is packed, people vote with their money and their presence.

This particular location is kind of quirky, the drive-through attendant is a bit«speedy» if you will; but as per usual the food is always excellent. The pork sausage is where it’s at though you can’t go wrong ordering just about anything off the menu. Freaking PRICEY though, for barbecue especially. If you want something that is amazing and fairly priced, go to Gatlin’s in the Heights.

Ate here for the first time to celebrate the start of summer vacation and definitely think it’s one of the better BBQ spots in the area. I was impressed with the food, prices and ambiance. I ordered the baked potato. It was a little greasier than I prefer, but it sure was delicious. My kids split the rib combo because their kids offerings were kind of lame and they loved it! We finished it off with a giant piece of cheese cake and a few coronas(for us big kids). We’ll be back next time we’re in the mood for some BBQ.

One of the best BBQ places in Houston. U always get the ribs and they are consistently good. A side salad is also my favorite. Just because it lets me eat greens with my ribs. The staff is also very nice. I come often & shall return.

So disappointed in this location. My husband and I went through the drive thru knowing we only had a little time for lunch but bar-b-que sounded good. We haven’t been here in a while and I was reminded why. My husband got the special of the day which was ½ chicken and a rib with 2 sides. His chicken is the only reason I gave 2 stars! The rub had the perfect pepper sweet taste and the chicken was so moist and had the perfect amount of smoke too. The rib piece he got was so overcooked that he couldn’t bite it apart let alone pull it apart so it just got tossed. I ordered the Texas two-step po-boy which was sausage and pulled pork. I must have mis-read the menu as I thought it was supposed to be chopped beef and pork :(. The very little pulled pork that was on the sandwich was so over-dry that it was like chewing leather. Did I mention the couple of thin sausage slices? This was suppose to be a po-boy but less than half the bun was filled and the bread was so stale and chewy too. Oh, you better ask for pickles, onions and sauce on the side if you want any at all! My sandwich was bare and nothing included. To spend $ 8 + on just a sandwich that had very little over-cooked meat served on a stale bun is ridiculous. Forgot to mention the sauce, for the little bit that was on the sandwich it had way too much vinegar almost a sour bite to it. Not good and very runny. I thought the Pappas chain had higher standards than this. I truly can’t understand how their location downtown has such amazing flavors and is always cooked to perfection and their sauce is thick goodness. How does this Humble location have the same name? This place is such a disappointment. I was so upset by the food I forgot to mention the lousy rushed service at the drive thru/window. Don’t ask the girl a question as she might charge you for that! No onion straws/loaf anymore and no homemade lemonade either. Well, at least you got 2 stars.
