It was pretty good considering the last experience I had there

We had two of the chef’s specials and were very impressed with both. The scallops and shrimp were perfect! The sauce was so delicious. My boyfriend had salmon and shrimp and really loved his too. The staff was incredible. Our waiter was attentive and had good timing. Not a long wait for drinks. When it came time to pay we had an issue with a gift card and the manager was so nice and understanding. We will definitely be back!

Had a great dining experience here on Saturday night. I was extremely impressed with the wait staff. they were attentive and intuitive to all of my needs while dining. i was also delighted to see team work, folks helping out at other tables. this is a dying culture in many of restaurants these days days. The food was OK, not bad not great, the execution of my dish of baked cod was definitely not worth the $ 24.00 but you win some you lose some. Very happy with the appetizer of fried calamari, just enough spice and a light crisp breading. If the level of service we received is a constant I will most certainly be a frequent diner.

2 stars for service… Went here with my parents on Dec 28 our waitress name was Debbie or Debra something to the affect. I have a photo of her but I think that would be mean to post it. Bad service from her. She took our bread without asking if we were through, she took my mom’s coleslaw without even asking if she was finish. It’s like she was rushing us. Didn’t like that very well at all. It’s not like they where busy. I saw her talking to a manager so hopefully he was correcting her. I know I will not let her serve me again. After all of that I still gave a nice tip.

Today was my first time to dine at this location. The Papas restaurants are well known in Houston for their quality, and service; and for well-earned reason. Admittedly, I normally frequent Papadeaux far more often than Papas, but this location is minutes from my office. I had a tough time deciding what to order, so I settled for crab. I asked for jambalaya in place of French fries because I didn’t want to have to fight off the post-carb Blues after lunch. The service is everything you would expect from any Papas in regards to fit, finish, and polish. The crab, and gumbo were equally fine. The jambalaya was a bit of another story. The ingredients individually were just fine, but they weren’t a happy marriage. The andouille was cut in far too large of pieces, the sauce felt as if they attempted to mask the bland nature by adding more cayenne. I like a little heat, but too much spice over powers the palette, and nothing else can be tasted. It reminded me far more of a cacciatore than a jambalaya. The other concern was the amount of grease. Terribly greasy. I certainly wasn’t impressed with the jambalaya in the least. I’m not likely to order it again.

Husband and I ordered take out yesterday(Sunday) about 1:30pm. I ordered the stuffed crab with a side of a fully loaded baked potato, and he ordered the Atlantic salmon and asked for crawfish étouffée on top. We were extra hungry and also ordered the fried zucchini as an appetizer with garlic bread. My order was perfect and still hot when we got home. Absolutely delicious. However, the rest of the order was beyond a mess. The zucchini did not come with any Parmesan shavings like the menu says and we did not receive garlic bread like we asked. My husband did not get rice with the crawfish etoufee. What? No rice with crawfish etoufee?! The salmon was also dry and over cooked. The crawfish etoufee didn’t amaze us either, as it was extremely bland. We also did not receive utensils even though we asked for them. We called and spoke with a manager, Sarah, who was actually the one to take our order. She was very apologetic and sincere, but it was kind of aggravating that she said the take out people are supposed to go over each item we ordered with us, and that she would make it a point to make sure they did that next time. It was almost like she was partly putting the blame on them. She took our information and we should be receiving a gift card in the mail soon.

This place was wonderful, we went in a little late, 9:00pm. The staff was tired but friendly. Our food came out quickly. The meal was lovely.

The food is always fresh and delicious. Gumbo and the stuffed shrimp are my favs. The hostesses could be a bit more friendly and professional. However overall it is one of the better Pappas in Houston.

Ate here with my wife. I had blackened trout, wife had blackened mahi. The food was good, I would have liked more to eat, though. more sides? something… After spending $ 60 on good food, I was hungry again in a couple of hours. I like the food here, my fish tasted great, but I would like to have more to fill me up.

The food was absolutely AMAZING. I went with all my family for a dinner and had a great time. I had the blackened catfish pasta and enjoyed every bit of it. I don’t recommend the red non alcoholic drink on the menu(very tart) but the watermelon lemonade was great. Great first impression as this location. Look forward to returning.

I stopped by for lunch with my boyfriend today. We were seated immediately, but no one went by to take our drink orders for 10 minutes. A supervisor took care of that for us. Our waitress, who never introduced herself to us had finally taken our orders. Long story short, after we got our food, she never once checked on us. No refills, no extra bread, etc. Business was slow, and we noticed that she was more attentive to her other tables. I guess one has to be middle-aged, Anglo, and look like you have some money to spend to get good service. Needless to say, I wasn’t impressed with the service. Never judge your guests based on appearance because they most likely have the ability to tip you good regardless of their demeanor. Anyway, the food, however, was amazing.

The Greek salad is the best. All the dishes are great. And their portions are large. Husband and I usually share a dish and have some left over. Service has always been great.

The best garlic bread I’ve ever had. It’s the same bread that is served at the table but they’ve added garlic and cheese. It’s served with the spinach artichoke dip. I had a moment with it and it was a very blissful moment. We arrived and they sat us really quickly, but the server didn’t realize that we were in his section. I had to flag down the manager to come and get our drink order. She comp’ed our appetizers which was super nice. What made it worse than being forgotten for the first 10 minutes was that the server kept repeating how sorry he was and that he didn’t mean to forget us. Then it got even more awkward when he told us that it was a fireable offense to ignore a table and he had kids at home. We were over the initial bump but he kept bringing it up. Soured our experience. If I was reading the food I probably give it a 4. If I was reading the experience, mainly the service, I’d give it a 2

Wife and I found this place a year ago after a layover in Houston. We loved it and we ate there last night and we still love it. Here is how much we love it… We chose to stay the night in Houston after an international flight from Belize instead of connecting to a flight to LA. Why? Because we wanted to eat here. It’s that good. Great selection of local tap beers. Fresh oysters, fish, crawfish, lobster, and crab. A savory menu. Great service. Excellent food preparation. Excellent atmosphere. Great vibe. And, it’s so much cheaper than LA. We spent $ 130. If this place was in LA, the bill would have been around $ 250. It so good, like I said, we make vacation plans around this restaurant when we travel east or to the Caribbean.

One thing that stands out about almost every Pappa’s(it’s a short a, not an ä) is their customer service. This restaurant is no different. Admittedly, I have never dined-in here. I have ordered«to-go» several times. They have always prepared my order correctly and it is ready on time. I typically order the Value Packs when I order to-go items as I am feeding anywhere from 10 – 40 people. When you are ordering food in the value pack and order gallon(s) of tea also, the cost averages out to around $ 13-$ 15 per person. From a seafood perspective, that is a fair price. You will spend more than than if you were dining in at this restaurant. On a personal note, I would like to apologize the poor woman who was in the restroom when I accidentally walked and ANDUSED the women’s room prior to realizing my mistake. Oops. For the record, the men’s room is down the hall and on the left. I guess I was too busy checking in on Unilocal and forgot to pay attention to which room I was walking into.

I went here for the first time and the food was a lot like Pappadeaux’s but not seasoned as well. My food got served to me cold twice and a manager came and was really nice. I got free dessert which was awesome(Seasonal Pumpkin Cheesecake). My server was great and I would try it again because of that. ***Update*** The Seafood Cobb is yummy! So is the Greek Salad, must try!

I can never be displeased with this place. Although this is a chain, it’s a chain that I will always go to! Their oysters on the half shell never fail. They always have a nice taste, and the cocktail sauce and horseradish add a nice kick to them. Their bread is always nice and crisp, but super soft on the inside. I ordered their new shrimp and scallop orecchiette pasta with vodka sauce! ABSOLUTELYDELICIOUS! My husband was not particularly crazy about the type of pasta, while for me it was just fine. The sauce is what makes it so amazing. There is a nice taste on the shrimp and scallops, but without the sauce, might be viewed as overly salty. It is like a lighter version of Alfredo sauce. Surprisingly my husband ordered a salad, but not just any salad, the seafood Cobb salad! Man, what a meal of a salad! Everything on that salad is super fresh, but you might want to consider just ordering a half-size if it’s just one person. but I truly appreciate the nice portions of crab and shrimp. My husband and I were super full by the time this dessert menu came around, but we ordered anyway! We decided to get the dessert trio, which was a half slice of pecan pie, A half slice of Keylime pie, and a half slice of cheesecake. Well let me tell you, we scored! We ended up not only getting full sizes of both the awesomely pecan pie and the perfectly tart key lime pie, but we got two slices of cheesecake as well! This particular Pappa’s seafood does not fail! Who knows, maybe if you come towards closing time, they may reward you with full-sizes on a dessert trio also!

I’d never been here before but my server, a cute young lady named Sam, was awesome. I hope her manager gets to see this and tells her. She definitely makes the hustle and bustle of dinner out on a busy Thursday better. Thanks Sam! My grandmother lives close to here and decided that was going to be our dinner plan for the evening so my sister and I hopped in the car and we headed to Pappas. This place was packed. I guess Thursday is the new Saturday in Humble??? Geez Louise. Anyways. They have the most awesome fruit infused lemonade(yes, I know, lemon is a fruit but you get it…). Sam was the most polite and sweet server I’ve had in a loooooooong time. Our food was awesome but my sisters shrimp gumbo had shrimp with the casings still on it. That was a little weird as I’ve never had shrimp that was cleaned in a soup before??? She was pretty irritated about it but everyone else’s meals were A+. I would love to give you 5 stars but I cant do it with the shrimp being such a hassle :(But…I will return for sure!
