The flow of the tournament was great. All the volunteers were so friendly! Even then volunteers serving food had a great attitude, despite it being the 4th day out there and raining! I recommend parking at the airport @ eco park and taking the shuttle. It’s on $ 5 and it drops you off at the entrance! We didn’t have a line to wait in to get there or to leave!

Not the best way to start the day’s experience!!! After arrival for Sunday’s final round, we make our way to the gate. Where the bag inspector informs me that I cannot bring my camera onto the grounds!!! Now, my cell phone, with a 5MP camera is ok, and the thousands of other cell phone cameras are all ok. But, my small digital camera, that I brought because my cell phone camera seems to make some little fake shutter noise no matter what you have the volume or sounds settings at, can be made to remain completely silent in order to not be a distraction to the players while taking pictures, is not allowed!!! The bag inspector informs me that no one will be allowed to use their phones during play, for any purpose, calls, texts and most specifically PHOTOS!!! Well then why are they allowed to be brought in??? And the answer was that calls could be made from specific areas. LMFAO really!!! Are we on the same planet? Does the PGA really think before they make these decisions??? So, because the fans are advised not to use their phones, it’s actually going to happen??? It was and is RIDICULOUS at best. Thousands of people were taking photos, texting and talking on their phones throughout the tournament from all kinds of «unauthorized» areas. Every once in a while, someone would get a reprimand to put their phone away or it would be confiscated! What a JOKE! The golf was good. The course was in great shape. The weather was great. We left as we saw the storm coming in after Mickelson’s group finished 18, and saw the end at home after the weather delay. PGA — Perfunctory Gargantuan Arseholes!!! PGA — Probably Go Again = not likely!!!

I had such a great time at the Shell Houston Open this year. I attended both Friday and Saturday. It’s so cool to see all these awesome PGA players here in Houston. I’m hoping Phil Mickelson’s win this year brings more notoriety and even better players next year. So glad to see Anthony Kim, Freddie Couples, Jhonattan Vegas, Molinari, Kuchar, etc. Pros: — The grounds are in great condition(Redstone over Woodlands) — You are so close to the action — Volunteers and staff members were awesome and ready to help — Shuttle buses from the airport parking lots ran quickly and efficiently — Good cause/charity Cons: — Houston heat(although we did have a nice breeze this year) If you love golf, this is THEPGA event to attend in Texas.

What a thrill! You are literally just a few feet away from some of the brightest PGA stars on tour. We dodged Anthony Kim’s errant tee shots, watched in wonder at some the shots he pulled off, and also observed his banana eating habits(split the peel in half, then munched away, like a monkey). For anyone who is a fan of the game, walking along side the pros is a must-add to any bucket list. Its April in Texas, so be prepared to sweat. Regardless of the weather, it was a wonderfully organized tournament. So THATS how you play the game.
