Great interior! The bar has lots of history, any spirit you like and great music choices

I hate going outside the loop for anything especially alcohol, however this trip was totally worth it. Great service, good music, huge variety of booze!

I gave this place a 2nd chance last night and I am so glad I did. They had live blues band playing and the band was so GOOD! This time, we sat at the bar and had great service and even better drinks. I’m glad I was able to come back and try it again!

I have only been here a handful of times because I always forget about it. My husband and I always ask ourselves why we don’t visit more often, it’s in downtown Hunble. It’s a very small quaint space with many different beers on tap. Great space for relaxing and having an awesome conversation with old friends. We have visited to hear local bands play and that can be a little too loud due to the small space, but otherwise I would recommend checking it out if you want a low key night with great service.

Get’er done! Scared I was gonna be murdered the whole time… pretty sure my dance skills saved my life. Still sport my shirt from this place with pride.

I’ve driven right past the place for years and finally stopped in to check it out one night. I was immediately met and greeted by one of the friendliest bartenders and immediately received a not too bad house cab. and in a nice big glass. I’ve been back many times, always to good music, good conversation and more than anything the best service I’ve had in a while. This is a gem. Do yourself a favor and stop by. But don’t tell too many people. It’s perfect just the way it is.

I found this place on Unilocal and since it had been a long travel day it seemed like it might be just what I was looking for. When I walked in, it was a bit smoky but the smoke eater was doing a pretty good job of handling it. A lady named Angie was tending the bar and she was very personable and the service was excellent! The crowd was a bit older and most were involved shooting the breeze with each other and watching America’s Funniest Home Videos. It’s just that kind of neighborhood bar. There was a very Good selection of Single Malts if you’re a scotch drinker and The décor and ambience were very cool. If you’re looking for a watering hole, this one is a good one!

Oh Downtown Humble, what would I do without you? A good friend of mine, just back after another college semester in Atlanta, decided that we should go to a bar. After a quick Unilocal,we decided on the Twin Oaks Tavern, as neither of us had been there before. «It may be rather hilarious.» This little pub is shaded by two enormous Oak Trees that nearly cover the front of the building, so naturally, I drove right past it the first time around. Got it on the second try though, and unlike visiting many downtown bars, there is actually enough parking here. We were by far the youngest people in the bar, with a margin of at least 20 years, but maybe that was just because on that particular night the live music was a blues band(Blues generally isn’t big with the youngins I guess?) Even though I wasn’t expecting to find live music I was surprised by how good they were! Who expects to find decent music in a tiny bar in Humble???(From now on, I will: D) They even played a few blues-ed up Beatles covers which were very catchy. It’s a shame my companion was not a blues dancer because my toes were itching to join the smattering of couples on the tiny dance floor. Although there were tables open, we sat at the bar, just below the TV showing SNL. An odd channel choice, but at least it wasn’t sports! The bartenders were very friendly, and seemed to know their way around the incredulous number of bottles. Others have mentioned the small number of taps(6 to be exact), but there was plenty of selection if you include bottled beers, ciders, and mixed drinks. Saturday is not a night for Happy Hour, so I have no idea what there specials usually consist of, but they do have $ 2 tequila shots all the time! My fresh-from-Atlanta friend was SOIMPRESSED that the bartender handed out limes and a salt shaker with the tequila shots without us even having to ask for them. It’s good to be in Texas. Afterwords, my hair did smell like cigarette smoke, but the smoking didn’t bother me too much while were were inside. It’s a nice place with a chill and cozy atmosphere. I’ll definitely come back next time I want to visit a bar close to home.

There are two bright, shining stars of hope during this stage of life in which I have found myself residing in Humble, TX. 1. Chez Nous and 2. Twin Oaks Tavern, both walking distance from my home. It’s not often that I can convince people to drive out of the loop, but when I do, these are the 2 places we have to offer. I’ll take it. Yes, the Tavern smells. Badly. Like a smokestack. If you wind up being there on karaōke night… jackpot. Better than reality TV. On our last visit, one of my friends was in town from CA and she kindly drove out for a visit. We decided to walk over to the Tavern and began to catch up over a couple glasses of house Cab. They do have a few wines here, not great ones, but not bottom shelf types either. Usually I have a vodka-soda or sometimes beer, they have all the standards. It was fairly busy(if I recall correctly it was a Friday?) and we sat at the bar. At some point, upon returning from the restroom, a mysterious blue frozen fru fru drink appeared in front of us, compliments of Mystery Patron(see in photos: The Blue Drank). We tried to guess who, but the possibilities were endless. And kind of hilarious. I didn’t know the bar had the capabilities of producing such a beverage(we did not actually drink it so I can’t speak of it’s quality). Two guys came by later and asked if we had ever been to [insert generic tropical island name here], so the mystery was solved, though they seemed displeased we hadn’t been on the hunt to figure it out. I guess that’s what you get for sending a blue frozen fru fru drink to not single women drinking red wine. But I digress. My husband joined us after he was done with work, and although he claims to hate the Tavern, even he had a good time. Despite what he might tell you, we love the Tavern and I will continue to make him go there until we leave Humble.

A nice little dive/pub. Outside is articulated with the two large and sprawling oak trees out front. Really a sight to see. Inside is kind of dark, and low ceiling. The bar snakes along the back wall, and up to the front with exposed brick. A nice pub atmosphere. The bartenders are always friendly and on top of things. Small tap list with the regular macros and Shiner. A bit more extensive bottle list. They will have bands on occasion, but mostly a chill spot to hang out and have a drink. Much better than most the chain/sports bar places around 1960 and 59.

I’ve been coming to this little hole in the wall establishment since I could legally drink(so that would be almost 5 years now). It’s very small and cozy and the bar is incredibly well stocked. While Twin Oaks certainly isn’t a beer house, they have a decent selection of beer(mostly of the bottled variety) for those like me who don’t simply want a Bud Light. They have Guinness and Shiner on tap and they usually have a seasonal selection as well along with the typical beer that most places serve(Bud, Coors, etc). The bartenders I’ve met over the years have all been very friendly and great at making drinks. They have a list with special house martinis and they have lots of wine, though I’ve never ordered any. Twin Oaks doesn’t serve any food unless you count the melt away mints that they usually stock in the bathroom. As I mentioned the place is small inside and the parking lot isn’t much bigger. If you go on a busy night you may have to park down the street and walk, though you can usually find a spot that’s fairly close. A few times I’ve been, there was live music. Mostly it was a small setup(one singer/one person on guitar or similar) and it was usually never the kind of music that I listen to, but it was always enjoyable. This is probably one of my favorite bars in Houston because it’s just a quaint non-stuffy place that you can grab a drink and enjoy your company… or yourself.
