Absolutely the finest smoked meats! We had a prime rib dinner one evening that was melt in your mouth tasty with amazing flavors. The BBQ dinner was terrific because the meat had a perfect balance of applewood smoked flavoring. I highly recommend OSO for your next amazing dinner.

My wife and I just returned from a 5 day stay at the Historic Tamarack Lodge where we held a class reunion/birthday. One of the difficulties we faced was how we would feed everyone who attended. Oso to the rescue! Eric worked with us to come up with a meal plan that was both flexible and delicious. You could tell that he is the kind of person who loves what he does and and cares deeply that you are happy with everything he serves. Dinners we had included smoked chicken, ribs and pulled pork.(That was all one dinner!) The second night he did a smoked prime rib that is going to make it nearly impossible to eat it anywhere else again.(Thanks Eric.) Another night, he put out a taco buffet that featured his own smoked pork and beef and all the fixings. The Pico and salsas were so good! The breakfasts ranged from traditional eggs and bacon to breakfast burritos and eggs Benedict. Appetizers, brilliant. If you are just a family, or a huge group like us, you should give Oso’s a try.

Wondered if all the five star reviews were accurate or just being overly friendly. So we tried dinner their our first night. Since we are here for three more nights I’m sure we’ll be back. I had the best chicken quesadilla I’ve ever had. Good sized and delicious. My wife’s veggie fajitas were equally as good. Great place.

Delicious Mexican/BBQ; inexpensive, fast, fresh. We traveled to MT for Glacier National Park and resigned our armature foodie hearts to focus on the views and not the food for once– staying in national parks has never proven to be a satisfying culinary experience. But that fact spurred us to Unilocal and take the 15 min drive out of West Apgar to find some decent dinner. We lucked out! Oso’s served up a welcome feast. Kathleen, the friendly, hard-working, one-woman waitstaff worked double time to be sure that every table was attended to, getting some help occasionally from the guys in the kitchen who pitched in any time she got too overwhelmed. And the guys in the kitchen, they’re putting in work too. We ate a spicy, tender, pork dish with tortillas rice and beans… two nights in a row. Also had the avocado Caesar salad, guac, and corn on the cob with a buttery, spicy, cheesy rub. Highly recommend!

We tried 4 different items from the menu and all were very good. Best Mexican I have found in the Valley.

Awesome ribs! Fall off the bone and covered in really delicious BBQ sauce. The pulled pork was really great too, served with tortillas instead of a bun. The Mexican twist on the barbecue dishes was fun. Our only problem was that we had a bit of a hard time finding it(especially with the spotty cell service in the area). It was well worth the trip though.

Ordered some of everything and it was all amazing. The BBQ ribs and chicken were tender and delicious. The spinach salad had lots of good fruit and huckleberry dressing, a local delicacy. The Mexican food was also great. Loved the corn and garlic mashed potato sides. CHCHCH Check it out

We happened upon this cozy restaurant on our visit to Hungry Horse. It was a Friday evening and they were offering a Prime Rib special. The special came with a fresh salad with huckleberry vinaigrette which was delicious. The service was exceptional. When our food arrived, I was delighted to see that the prime rib was topped with sautéed mushrooms and onions. The prime rib was cooked to absolute perfection! No steak knife needed… you could cut it with a butter knife. The smoky flavor of the meat was out of this world! Kudos to Eric, the Chef, on a job well done! I might also add how special it was to have Eric come to our table to see how we liked our food! I would heartily recommend this restaurant!

Fantastic BBQ and Authentic Mexican Food! The Pork Tacos are my favorite and they have Prime Rib on Fridays and they also have great guacamole! You won’t be disappointed!

Wow! So glad we found Oso’s on Unilocal and gave it a shot. Almost missed it as it is located in the Tamarack Lodge and we didn’t see the separate sign. Great setting but even better food. Stuck with the Mexican portion of the menu and didn’t regret it. The BBQ also smelled fantastic.

Decent food for the area. Reasonable prices. They had a mix of bbq and tex-mex, like a restaurant in Texas. Service was a little slow, but the food was good. Tacos came with too much Cole slaw, tho the slaw was good. Pulled pork and chicken were both very good. The Chile Verde was good and spicy, with tender meat. The tortillas, which came with everything, were warm and recently grilled.

A fantastic find that combines both types of food expertly — which is extremely hard to do!

Oso’s at the Tamarack is a great find. The building is awesome– it’s the original Glacier Park visitors lodge that was rebuilt log for log after the visitors center was updates. They have an interesting fusion of BBQ and Mexican that works. I had the pulled pork with corn on the cob tonight and it was fantastic. They have a decent beer selection and can make a mean cocktail. I would definitely recommend it to anyone in the area.

Oso’s is a true surprise on the west side of Glacier National Park. We were so appreciative of the food, we ate there both nights we were in the area. The dishes we had were the spinach salad, caesar salad, chicken quesadilla and chicken fajita. All were excellent! Prices were more than fair. Service was extremely good – even the manager came out delivering food and making sure we were happy with everything. The only difficulty was finding the place as the only sign is a handwritten board leaning against the Tamarack Lodge’s signpost. But our GPS got us here and we were very glad! Also, they have a 2nd shop in an old railcar up the road a bit. We didn’t make it there but our waitress said the food in the other other place was just as good(Oso’s Catering). The Tamarack Lodge building is over 100 years old and made from true logs. It was moved once and they disassembled it log by log and put it back together on this site. Beyond the dining room is a marvelous lounge with a great fireplace. Just a marvelous experience.

The food is AMAZING. The BBQ is so tender and the sauce is the best I have ever had. I am from San Diego and am very particluar about my Mexican food and Oso’s is some of the best Mexican food ever. The service was great and I eat here every opportunity I have.
