I cannot say enough about how delicious everything was! I went with several co workers and we shared a variety of things– wonton shrimp, calamari, crabs, oysters, crab cakes and seafood Mac and cheese. All were so delicious and they had such a fun atmosphere. We sat on the patio and had great local beers with wonderful service. I wish I lived here so I could come back sooner!

Love the food and the staff. Reason for low score is because this location is not dog friendly. Was outside on the patio during a slow time of the day and was refused service because of my puppy. Seriously, who hates puppies?

Met a client for lunch here today and we ate light. The oysters were fresh and great! You should really just stick to oysters here. It’s a true raw bar that has some other good menu choices. Selfishly I come here for their raw bar only. Shiny Seas –PEI salty oysters(high salt) were outta this world flavorful. They are only 3.5″ but their power allows your taste buds to experience something much bigger. Made another food choice and had to do a heavy for balance. Ya know YingYang of eating. I chose the split crab soup. That split crab soup choice(half MD vegetable crab & half cream of crab) is something that you have to ask for since it’s not listed on Ryleigh’s menu. It’s MD and if you’re at a place here in MD that doesn’t offer and/or want to accommodate your split soup choice then you need to leave immediately. Back to the point. the split soup was tasty but not as hot(soup temperature) as I’d like it. That’s a bummer for my overall experience but the soup does taste good and you shouldn’t hesitate to order it. Sat outside on their patio with excellent service from an International. I’ll be back!

Best Brussel sprouts! Literally go for the Brussels! Would like to see the menu change from season to season, not much of a selection. The atmosphere is awesome, especially when the weather is nice.

Hubby and I stopped in to grab a little something to eat, so we shared a small cream of crab soup, deviled eggs, and seafood pasta. I am sensitive to seasonings post pregnancy so I’ll say the deviled eggs topped with a piece of bacon, and the cream of crab soup was delish! In my honest opinion the deviled eggs was salty, and the cream of crab was slightly spicy but again I’m sensitive to seasonings however my husband who is not said it was perfectly seasoned. We also ordered the seafood pasta which my husband said was good but needed a little more salt. We haven’t tried most of what’s on the menu, but we will definitely be back for more!

After a horrible experience at the Ryleigh’s in Mount Vernon, I was hesitant to try this location. But, we were in Hunt Valley for a conference and there are very few non-chain choices. Our lunch experience was great. We started with the crab dip, which was fantastic. Then, I had the cream of crab soup and a Rachel sandwich. The soup and sandwich was a part of the lunch special– $ 10. The crab soup was amazing, I would have paid $ 10 just for that!

Ryleigh’s Oyster Bar has great décor and nice atmosphere but I think it’s too overpriced. The portions are also a lot smaller than what I was anticipating; especially compared to most other restaurants. Our service last night was incredibly slow. There was a party of 8 next to us that got treated very well, but our food order was taken five minutes after we were done with our appetizer; we had to ask to order food. We had to ask for more drinks, and a desert option was never given to us, just the check. I felt as though they were rushing us out towards the end. The tap beer and soda tasted flat. After expressing our concern and switching to bottled beer the final bill still included those drinks. I feel like Ryleigh’s would be a fun spot for happy hour, but based on my service and small plates I won’t return again for dinner.

Can you say the best oyster happy hour ever. The food is great, I usually get excellent service and it’s located in a nice little obvious hide a way.

Had dinner on two separate occasions. Scallops were delicious. Crab cakes not so much — not enough lump crab and too much filling for the steep price. Brussel sprouts are tasty but be prepared for a lot of sweetness. We also shared several appetizers. Crab pretzels were really bad… Yet crab dip was delicious. Very hit and miss. Broiled oysters were def not worth the price. Sorry but I don’t think I would return.

Won’t go here again. Waited 10 min to be seated(we arrived promptly for our reservation). We sat outside and it was so dark we couldn’t see our mediocre food. The scallops were the best but for $ 20 I expect more than three or three large scallops. Only two options for desert. We ordered the cheesecake and it came out in an odd shaped mound and had chunks of cream cheese peppered throughout, canned fruit sauce on top. Lastly, where we were seated the people smoking outside send waves of smoke to our table. Overall it was a horrible experience and I won’t be back. Ps. The server was not to blame, she did her best and was very friendly. But even great service can’t make up for disappointing food.

The scallops were just okay, but the fish and chips and the oysters were good. I’d give more stars if everyone didn’t gawk and stare at you on Saturday nights like you’re giraffes outside the zoo. It made for an uncomfortable experience. Black people come to Padonia too. It’s not the end of the world.

Ryleigh’s happens to be close to where my dad works, so meeting him and my family for dinner here seemed like a convenient plan. What’s great about this location is that there is tons of parking behind and alongside the building. We were greeted by the hostess and promptly seated at a table(maybe about 20 or so feet from the lower bar). The first thing I noticed was just how dark and loud the place is. The bar area was completely full, which is fine but the loud talking/borderline shouting of some people made our family dining experience a little uneasy. I could hardly hear what the person next to me was saying for almost all of the meal. For three people, we ordered some raw oysters, the crab cake sandwich, fish and chips, and the oyster po’ boy. The food was solid– the crab cake was well done and the fish and chips were light and not too greasy. The only thing I noticed were that the fried oysters in the po’ boy were definitely on the smaller end. I would say if you’re with family or want something a little more intimate, skip Ryleigh’s for dinner. Give it a go for lunch or brunch instead. Just a side note: the first time I ever came to Ryleigh’s, there was an AMAZING Rockfish entrée and sauteed oyster mushroom side offered. Very sad to see they’re no longer on the menu. What happened to them?

I went here last night for dinner on NYE and I had a really great experience! We sat in the bar area at a high top which had a really nice and low key feel, even on NYE. Food: I ordered the fried oysters as an appetizer and they were perfect! Topped with a little sriracha, which is perfect and on top of a very small spinach salad in the shell. It was great! My friends ordered just appetizers and they got the grilled calamari and grilled oysters which they seemed to enjoy. Main meal, my boyfriend and I both ordered the Ryleigh’s House Burger cooked medium and with old bay fries instead of the chips. My burger was cooked perfectly and my boyfriend said that his was also great. The fries were amazing too, but you can’t really go wrong with old bay fries! Drinks: Drink menu was pretty good and extensive. I started off with the spicy apple martini which had a cinnamon rim and it was delicious. I also ordered Fordham Oyster Stout with my meal which I figured was appropriate and it was awesome(can’t go wrong with craft beer). They had several draft beer selections and a few craft beer choices which was nice and also had a good selection of liquor, which my boyfriend enjoyed. Our friends also ordered drinks and they seemed to enjoy their drinks also. Service: Our server was awesome! I wish I would’ve gotten her name. Friendly, personable, and was very enthusiastic. She was very quick with our orders and was always checking to make sure that our food and drinks turned out well. Overall, I would absolutely return to Ryleigh’s Oyster again! The location is great and the food and service was amazing.

Came here for a Christmas party and can’t wait to visit again. Great atmosphere and oyster bar. The food was delicious and the staff friendly. This location has lots of parking and space for private parties and many spaces for a great time. The fire pit outside is a great touch, check this place out!

I ended up at Ryleigh’s for a kind of silly reason: I was going out with a group of people who all refuse to parallel park, so that eliminated most of downtown and a lot of Towson, too. Ryleigh’s seemed like a good central location for everyone and the menu seemed to have a wide range. Though the choice was kind of as a default, we ended up having a great time. They texted me right before the reservation as a reminder and we were seated right away. Our waitress was very prompt and checked back frequently. All of the food arrived quickly and was tasty. There were options for meat-eaters, pescatarians, and vegetarians too! I had a lovely kale salad, something I didn’t think I would find at a place like Ryleigh’s. It’s a very different atmosphere from the downtown location, but not in a bad way… just in a not-as-young way. It certainly wasn’t truly unique or out of this world, and our waitress seemed to want us to hurry out, but I would definitely be back soon, especially to try out their happy hour!

Come for the oysters and drinks, stay for… NOTHING. It’s that bad. Dinner was off to a good start with the raw oysters. The place is obnoxiously loud and dark, but I overlooked that at first. Then the rest of our food came. Disappointment. The batter on the onion rings was still wet and doughy. I sent them back. The second order was zero improvement, so I gave up on them altogether. The steamed crabs were undercooked and mushy. The corn on the cobs had good flavor but came out cold. The braised clams were ok but lacked seasoning. My mom’s burger came out cold too. It was so incredibly loud in there that the server misheard a few things about our order. She was very nice though and fixed those errors as they occurred. I can’t blame her for any faults. The cooks in the back though, oh boy, they’ve got some major issues. The icing on the cake was when an off-duty server sat down at the table next to us, and started badmouthing customers to the on-duty server who was bringing her food and drinks. We were blessed with overhearing such delightful comments as, «Oh my God, look at all these people [as her eyes scanned the room in disgust]. What are they even wearing?» It was so awkward and embarrassing that after that snooty girl left, our server apologized for her behavior. I’m assigning the one lonely, extra star for the oysters and our excellent server.

Pluses– Oyster Happy Hour, Service, Physical space, Free Extra Oysters! Deltas– A few of the oysters had shells in them, difficult to order anything at outside bar I’d been to Ryleigh’s in Federal Hill years ago, and was excited to learn they had a location near my work. The space itself is amazing. They have a huge outdoor patio, which on a summer day I could see being an incredible place to drink the day away. The drinks were also very delicious, and even though the place was packed, service was consistent and on point. For food, I only ordered a plate of oysters, which for the happy hour was only a dollar per local oyster(which is an amazing deal). What arrived at my table was a massive platter of oysters(which somehow also included an extra 6 free oysters). They looked amazing, in their briny glory. While they were very fresh, clean tasting, briny, and delicious; my only complaint was that in a number of the oysters there were a lot of loose shell pieces. This didn’t stop me from devouring all of them(which I regretted later as my only sustenance that evening was oysters and bourbon, which while tasty, was not a great combination) but something that I noticed and had to work around. Some of the other options on their menu looked very good, and thanks to the outdoor space, I would likely check this place out again, though until I sample the place again, I’m not sure I’ll be putting it into my regular rotation just yet.

We ventured out to this Ryleigh’s on Friday night because we had a gift card. We were greeted(if that’s what it can be called) by a hostess who was texting or social networking on her phone, who barely looked up at us. We sat in the loud bar area, and I mean LOUD! We had to repeat everything multiple times and almost yell, to the point where I pointed out I was glad this wasn’t our first date or we would have never got to know each other. We ordered cream of crab soup(delicious!), onion rings(too greasy), salmon with a side of cole slaw(salmon was good, cole slaw was not great. Almost like they’re trying to hard and screwed it up), the blackened chicken sandwich(good sandwich, terrible, really terrrible, chips). The food left a huge amount to be desired. The only saving grace to our meal had to be our waitress, who was super attentive, friendly, and helpful.

Went for lunch on a quiet Friday afternoon, just before the O’s home opener. Was surprised to see the place so empty, as I’d been there a couple times previously and lunch hours were usually busy. My buddy and I opted for seats at the bar, and had prompt attention. The beer selection is decent enough, with a fair number of crafts available on draught. Nothing sensational or even surprising, however, but fine for a place that emphasizes its food. Speaking of food, I went with the blackened chicken sammich, which came with their special homemade chips. The sandwich was good, with the jalapeños lending a good kick. The chips were pretty crappy(chips, crappy… get it?!), with some being properly crisp and others rather chewy, as if they were in oil that wasn’t hot enough, and just soaked it in. Add it to the growing list of places that insist on doing house chips, but do it rather poorly. My buddy went with the Old Bay wings, which he rated about average. Size-wise, they were medium at best. Final verdict? An okay option in Cockeysville, on par with the majority of Cockeysville restaurants.

Really great atmosphere, service was very friendly and helpful, and the décor was trendy new and upbeat. Unfortunately the food didn’t live up to everything else. We had crab pretzels, wings, crab dip, and Brussel sprouts to start. The Brussel sprouts were fantastic we really liked these but having a subpar crab dip in Maryland isn’t going to get you any bonus points. They also had super small pretzels so they weren’t able to capture a great doughy pretzel taste to go with the crab on top. The wings were average –didn’t have much of a flavor to them and also didn’t have a crisp skin. I had the fish tacos that came with a watery white rice that overwhelmed the tacos. Every bite leaked water out of the flavorless rice. I suspect they ran out of their typical rice and we’re making due with this because there’s no way this would make a menu. The fish tasted okay but the pieces were very small. At about 5 $ a taco(3 for 14 $ I think) these were tiny. They had a pretty good beer selection, I think if I’m in the area I’d come back here for drinks and cool vibe, but I’d have a hard time being convinced by a friend to eat dinner here again.
