We stop by here everytime we are in the Catskills visiting my boyfriends family. I live in Los Angeles and you just don’t find these quaint stores with homemade goods. Honey flavors are unique and yummy. I like adding to my tea. They also have soaps and other food items. The gummy bears from there are the best! Soft and loaded with flavor! Great little find on your drive thru the Catskills.

Grew up coming here to get our sweets. A different time when candy bars didn’t rule kids lives and the thought of something sweet was a real treat. From local honey to produced products they have always had a wonderful selection as well as some crafts and home goods to round out a cozy shopping experience. As a kid I loved the fact that it was in a house and we were always treated as family and given samples to try. I look forward to my opportunities to go home and visit!

A wonderful little honey store with all kinds of jams and other delicious food products just outside of Hunter in the Catskills. All the honey here is fantastic – so good that it’s worth driving out of your way for. The linden honey, which has a mild citrus taste, is especially wonderful. I can’t recommend this place highly enough, and hope the owner never retires!

During a weekend getaway to the Catskills, my husband and I stopped by this honey shop-in-a-home-garage after a day of hiking. I was pleasantly surprised to find quite the spread of products and was honestly quite overwhelmed with the selection. Mr. Traphagen was extremely friendly and helpful, allowing us to taste a couple of his honeys so that we could make our choice of which to purchase and he suggested a delicious jam for me, based on a few quick questions of what I like. He also made a recommendation of a restaurant to have dinner at that was close to our B&B in Stamford. Traphagen’s ships all over the country and I plan to order from him in the future. I would definitely stop back in if I’m in the area again.
