I used Comfort Control for problems with my baseboard heating(which is supplemental) to my main unit. This is only used during the extremely real cold months. They came out on 1÷24÷12 and claimed the knocking in the pipes were due to air in the system and they needed to be purged and also replaced the air valve on one zone. Now it is a two zone unit but they only replaced the air valve on one zone. They charge a diagnostic fee but apply it to the total charge which was $ 320.00. They gave a year warranty on the part and a 60 day warranty on the labor which by that time the unit would be turned off. When we went to start it up again this year there was knocking in the pipes again. I called them around January 29th to tell them that the same thing was happening and I felt that the person who came out did not properly diagnose the problem. I also had done some research(had another company who specializes in baseboard heaters come out) and understood that the part used for the air pressure valve was not the right one to be used on a system like I have, and you do not only take care of one zone. So a year warranty would not make a difference on that item. I felt that a different person should check it and a diagnostic fee should not be charged for the same issue. I was told if I did not hear within a few days assume that they would not do it without charging another diagnostic fee and that is that. I find that to be very unethical. I wanted to see what they came up with this time and if they were going to do something different and change what they did not do right the first time when they were so agreeable to taking my money.
