I used to really love this park in my younger years when I used to wander the woods for hoodlum reasons. The«rock wall» offers a great thinking spot, and I even stumbled upon a cache up there for all you geo dudes and dudettes. I also used to think this park was so small because I had only experienced the main picnic area and the little bit of trail that sits next to it. That alone offers some nice relaxing times and a great spot for family parties. Wander over(or under) to the other side to get a lot more hiking in. I managed to find a lot more walking when I wandered away from a birthday crowd the was taking over the main area. You can stay within Lorimer, or keep on going towards the Pennypack trail. I’m lucky enough to be able to get to this park on foot since moving to Bryn Athyn, thanks to the PPT.

We loved the park. We’ve only been once, but it was beautiful. Although it wasn’t filled with flowers as it showed in the beginning of the park, it was full of interesting paths and seemed never-ending. There are many paths for different visitors(the path walkers, hikers, adventurers). It was a great trail and there was nice parking for visitors. The location was great and it is definitely worth the visit.

I’ve been to a number of geocaching events at this park. It’s a nice park with a few trails and a picnic area. One downside is the picnic area is about a quarter mile away from parking so you’ll have to walk a bit. However, you can make use of the loading/unloading area nearer the picnic area if you have food and equipment to move.

Lorimer and I go way back to probably before I can remember! I practically grew up in this park. It’s got a really great field area for outdoor sports like football and frisbee, a picnic area with grills and benches, a creek where fishing is allowed seasonally, great trails, and even a small rock face you can sit atop and relax(access is via trail, climbing the face itself is not permitted). My earliest memories of the park are of having picnics in the field with my dad and brother that almost always involved frisbee and water balloon fights. They never really cared about the water balloons, as long as we promised to clean up the peices of balloons after. The park is pretty much the same now as it was back then. The only real difference is a new bridge across the creek, some new benches, and, unfortunately, overpopulation by geese. The geese are the only real downside to the park. If you’re particularly squeamish, you may want to avoid running through the grass here. You’re bound to get a lot of *droppings* in your shoes. Other than that I have no complaints about the park at all. It’s beautiful and quiet and just over the Philadelphia county line. I’ve seen countless wedding parties taking pictures on the grounds, and plenty of family reunions. If you hike through the trails, you’ll probably run across deer and tons of chipmunks! It’s a great place to go and unwind on a lunch break, if you live close, or a lazy summer day with a good book and a snack. I don’t know if it’s one of those«best-kept secret» kind of places, but the park never seems to be crowded. It’s really a nice little pocket of natural beauty and peace just outside of the city. Definitely one of my favorites!
