Perfect weather this year. Great lawn seating under a tree. Bring your own food or buy food. Sound system is off the hook and the DJ is so good. It aint nothing but a big ass outdoor party /concert. My 3rd year and the lineup gets better every year. Anthony David, Eric Benet, Faith, and Sisqo were all great performers.

Betty called me the morning of(July 25th2015) to talk about my Unilocal Review from 7÷31÷2014. Betty was as nice as I knew her to always be and willing to listen to my concerns. What I took back from our conversation last month is that the BB’s Jazz organization, especially Betty herself is committed to their patrons satisfaction. Betty and I had a follow up call that I asked her staff to setup(September 28th2015). The issue is closed and we are very humbled to that she took the time to work with me. Ronnie Scates

bbjazz is a hidden gem! Betty Bennish does an amazing job of booking great artists in a small and intimate venue with a personal touch. I have seen Eric Roberson, Algebra Blesset, Rahsaan Patterson, and Jon B in the 300? Seat HB library theater. The stage is so close, the artist can engage the audience(Eric Roberson was so funny, making songs up from words the audience threw out). Every seat is great. Parking is great. I prefer the late show to dance to the DJ, after the concert. The artist will stay after the show and sign CDs, say Hello, or snap a pic with you. We tried the dinner last time. It was a great experience. DJ Malski from KJLH works the room with great tunes through dinner. The food was fine, nothing fancy, for $ 15, it was worth it. They serve beer, wine, and soft drinks for an extra charge. The summer Festival is also phenomenal! Great artists in the park. You can buy lawn seats or reserved. We booked the reserved last year, and it was worth every penny for the air conditioned bathroom… lol. HB is so lucky to have bbjazz! Help support these great artists!

Came here to see Layla Hathaway about two months ago. Venue was small, but intimate. We had a great time! Be aware there was no alcohol served, just wine.

The BB Jazz Festival is one of my favorite events to look forward to! This is my 4th year in a row going & I absolutely love it. They always have a great selection of artists & Huntington Beach Central Park is an awesome venue for a summer festival. It’s just big enough without beinh ridiculously crowded, there’s tons of trees for shade & grass for lawn sitting. There’s a constant coastal breeze from the beach down the street(NOTE: it does get pretty chilly when the sun goes down, so bring a jacket or sweater). They let you load up your own food, drinks & chairs, but they also have several food vendors along with other vendors(clothing, art, etc). Overall, it’s consistently a really great event! Only 1 down side: when the adjacent lot is full(at the baseball side), their event parking lot is down the street & they run you back & forth with shuttles… fine, right? Well, that lot is $ 15! That’s pretty pricey. On top of that, it took 25 minutes just to get into the lot, then another 30 minutes to get onto the shuttle(15 passenger vans… they were running 11 of them this year)… for $ 15?! Hmmmm. If they had free parking, or even reasonable parking($ 5?) even with the long delay, I’d say they give a 5 star event!

I first heard of this summer jazz festival last year. Because I hadn’t heard that much hype, I let it slip past me. Attended this year, and very happy I did. Now it will be on the annual calendar. First of all, advertised as a «jazz fest,» this is an R&B festival. The venue is great. Good parking at reasonable prices, close to the entrance. The park is id-sized, just big enough for the crowd. It’s on a lovely shady incline, good for hot summer concert viewing. You can bring lawn chairs, beach umbrellas, and blankets. Be courteous enough not to bring the canopy. Small coolers are allowed, but there are good food vendors there as well. Speaking of vendors, you can buy some cute(overpriced) sundresses and sun hats there. Now, to the music. I love it when events are on time. At noon, the first artist was up and rocking. The flow was good all the way through. There were two stages, and we could get close enough to take pictures with the artists. They rocked the mike and we responded with line dances. Great crowd for the artists!

If you like jazz or what I perceive to be «real» music you have to check out BB Jazz in Huntington Beach. They have a great venue for jazz. The environment is nice, not so large that it loses the ambiance. Every seat in the place is good so you don’t have to pay to sit in the first five rows. The acoustics in this place are great. They are located just on the backside of the Westminster Mall actually. 7111 Talbert Ave., Huntington Beach, CA Plenty of Parking. Take a friend, they also offer dinner tickets the food is good but not great could take that or leave but not bad. Go for the music not for the food although its only 15 dollars more. Check out their listings to see who is performing you will not regret it…
