This firm helped us with hardscaping(removal of concrete/installation of bricks) in our front yard. The masonry subcontractors were true craftsmen and quick workers. The owner of the firm gave us a price that was okay and then of course we ran into unanticipated issues. My beef is that while we discussed most of the upcharges/add ons, there was one we didn’t and didn’t seem like a fair value, but just got presented as an invoice. If I worked with them again, I would insist on more clarity about what is included in the scope of each invoice and ask that any additional charges be discussed in advance(always a good practice, but if you start there, you feel like you are are assuming someone is out to cheat you). The owner had some good suggestions on plants for the yard(which I followed and have worked out well), but there was also some fairly persistent salesmanship to expand the scope of the job(the kind of salesmanship that implies that your place looks like a dump, which admittedly could be a fair observation, but is not necessarily the message you want to hear). By the end of the job, I just didn’t want any more back and forth and paid all the invoices.
