Jump Start Swimming

I have used Jump Start Swimming for three years in a row. My daughter had lessons at ages, 3, 4, and 5. I have been incredibly impressed by the level of professionalism and effectiveness of the company’s approach to teaching swimming. For the first two years, we had Miss Caitlyn as our instructor, and she was impeccable in her service. She was accommodating, on-​time, focused during the lesson time, and utilized appropriate skills to make certain my «spirited» daughter remained on-​task.
This past year we had Miss Marybeth as an instructor. She too was amazing. She was on-​top of communicating about appointment times, always punctual, extremely professional, and took my daughter to a level of swimming that just did not entail water safety, but actually helping her form.
Altogether, my husband and I have been extremely pleased with this school, and would never go anywhere else. Also, they recently updated their website and now you can pay for everything online! I love that this company effectively uses technology to manage their clientele; it truly makes for happy customers :)

Thank you Jump Start Swimming. Both my kids were taught by Elaine this summer and she was wonderful. They learned so much from here and are looking forward to seeing her next summer! Customer service is awesome also. Highly recommend this place!

Both myself and my 20 month old son enrolled for private swim lessons with Caitlyn. She is wonderful, patient, and knowledgeable. I’ve always been afraid of water psychologically… I learned how to swim (under water) by the first lesson. As for my son, after his first lesson, he was much more confident in the pool. Look forward to returning next year.

We’ve since had Miss Alex for 4 lessons. She was really great with our daughter. Made alot of progress in 4 lessons: monkey crawl, kicking, paddling, starfish float for an entire «twinkle twinkle song». Thank you! Always on time and my daughter changed from being hesitant to looking forward to her swim classes!

I can not say enough great things about Jump Start Swimming. My daughters age 3 and 4 were reluctant to swim at first and by the end of our 10 week session, both girls were swimming across the pool by themselves.
I am impressed with all of the instructors teaching styles, the owners were easy to communicate with, the website is easy to use to set up appointments and the facilities are clean.
As a mom, I am at now at ease that both my daughters have the confidence they have in the pool and around water. Jump start swimming does really save lives and we will for sure be returning next summer. Thank you, Jump Start Swimming!

I must say that we LOVE Jump Start Swimming. Sonia is so great! Our 2.5 year old daughter loved the water but couldn’t do much on her own and wasn’t too afraid of the water but after lessons with Sonia, that all changed. She now knows not to go near the water unless she’s with an adult and most importantly knows what to do if she is in the water. She immediately floats on her back aka starfish, then she floats or swims to the side to do her monkey crawl. My #1 priority was her safety. I wanted to make sure she knew exactly what to do if she fell in the water. We are 16 lessons in and I wish I could have Sonia come to my house twice a week year round. She has been awesome! Also, the fact they come to you is the best thing in the world! Definitely recommend Jump Start Swimming!

Our (almost) four year old has been taking lessons from Anna for the past few weeks and I’m amazed by what a difference it’s made! He’s able to swim across the pool by himself, float on his back, and use a kick board. Anna has been great. She’s always on time and has been flexible with us when we need to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Most importantly though, she is wonderful with our son! She makes sure that he has fun during the lessons, but she’s also firm enough with him to keep him on track and focused on what he’s learning. Overall a fantastic experience!

We just finished our 10 lesson package with Jump Start and I was so happy we did it. My daughter is 2.5 years old and I am very pleased with the progress she made in her swimming skills. My daughter absolutely loves the water. As in loves it so much, I was a little nervous about her being around water because there was no fear whatsoever. Because of this, I was motivated to get her some quality swim lessons on two counts, 1.) give her something to do that she likes to do and 2.) increase her skills when it comes to swimming and water safety. Jump Start not only met but exceeded the fulfillment of those two counts! Is she a perfect swimmer now? Of course not, she’s only two, but I have a lot more confidence in her being able to survive should there be an accidental fall in the water. Plus, she had a blast! It was so much fun to watch her skills progress each lesson as she learned to swim and «starfish».
We had most of our lessons with Caitlyn and a few with Elaine (who left to go to grad school). I was so pleased with how professional they both were in working with a toddler. They kept a great balance of fun, teaching, and structure to maximize the lesson time. I will definitely be raving about Jump Start to all my friends!

I saw Jump Start on Unilocal and read their reviews while looking into other swim lesson providers. After calling around I decided to go with the 10 lesson package.
My 3 year-​old had some swimming skills but definitely needed more help. He has had lessons with Alex, Caitlyn and Elaine. All are very patient with him and his very short attention span. They gently redirect him to the task at hand while keeping it fun. The lessons are for the full 30 minutes and always start/​stop on time.
Now he is on lesson 7 and can swim all the way across the long part of the pool by himself! Elaine has taught him how to float which is the most important thing for me. I will be bringing my younger son once he is ready.

I enrolled my daughter (3.5 yrs old) and my son (2 yrs old) almost three months ago with Ms. Caitlyn. My daughter had been taking lessons elsewhere (albeit on and off) but it got to the point where she needed the extra attention to further her swimming skills. I’m impressed with her progress for a short period of time. She is now water safe and knows to swim (freestyle starfish breathing) long lap independently. Caitlyn is currently teaching her to do backstroke, early steps to breaststroke, and how to dive. My son was a newbie when he started and doesn’t like to put his face under water. Caitlyn is very patient with him. He now knows how to kick in the water and put his face under water. Less crying each time, too!

What an awesome experience our little almost two year old has had! Caitlyn has been so patient and caring with our little bundle of energy. We highly recommend!

I started my daughter in a couple different swim schools since she was 22 months old. Unfortunately, she was so overwhelmed with the larger groups and seeing so many people in one place I guess so she never wanted to participate. I decided to look for swim instructors that can come to our pool since I felt she might be more comfortable in a familiar environment. I was so happy to find this swim school. My daughter has been with Coach Alex for a while now and she’s learned so much from her. She is water safe now and could actually swim across the pool at the age of 3. People are amazed at her technique and how comfortable she is in the water. I would definitely recommend Jump Start Swimming to anyone looking to learn and excel at swimming.

The swim school is great! I really wanted my kid to learn water safety. My kid was a bit hesitant being in the water but after 10 lessons, she’s learned so much! I could tell that she felt more comfortable in the water even after the first few lessons. The teacher is patient, nice but firm which helps kids overcome their fears. Overall, I highly recommend. Also, it was easy to sign up for classes, prices are reasonable, it’s easy to reschedule, and a reminder gets sent via email regarding an upcoming class, which helps a lot.

We started our now 23 month old son in swim lessons when he was 6 months old at another swim school that requires babies to do parent & me swim classes. He did great the first year, but after several instructor changes and some skills regression, we decided to find a new swim school. We live in FV and were so excited to see Jump Start was so close to home. He had a rough time the first couple of weeks, unwilling to do anything, and whining/​crying through most of the lessons. Caitlyn is so above and beyond patient. She held tight, and stayed calm, and after a couple of weeks, we saw his comfort in the water grow. Just a few months in, he gets so excited to go to swim lessons. He claps when I bring his swim diaper and trunks to his room to get changed. We are so glad we’ve found Jump Start. It’s a lovely pool, and nice waiting area. The water is always warm and clean. Caitlyn is patient, fun, engaging.

I am so impressed with the swim lessons! My son is 3 and warmed up to Caitlyn right away. She actually makes the lessons fun for him. She rewards him with playing with toys and trips to the waterfall when he listens well and follows her instructions. I can see the improvement after just a few lessons. We will defiantly be keeping our son in these lessons through the summer.

I cannot say enough good things about Caitlyn and Jump Start Swim school. I never get on Unilocal to write reviews but she is THAT GOOD! Pool is clean and warm for my 1.5 year old son who usually hates water (baths, ocean, pools, you name is…) Caitlyn is so patient, sweet and is a great instructor. The prices are very reasonable, too! Don’t waste your time at any of the larger swim facilities– go to Jump Start Swimming and you will be so glad you did!!!

Last summer (2014) we decided to try Jump Start swimming based on the excellent Unilocal reviews and we weren’t disappointed!
We had tried other private swim lesson options for our eldest son (who was 4 at the time), but no matter how patient the instructor was we couldn’t get him fully comfortable in water. That is until we tried Jump Start. Elaine was his instructor and she did an excellent job of putting him at ease while instructing him. He loved it by the end of the summer. In fact, he loved his lessons with Elaine so much when we asked him if he wanted to have lessons again this summer (2015) he said «Yes, but only if I get them with Miss Elaine»
Needless to say we will be getting lessons for him again this summer and also get his younger brother (who will be 2) to start his lessons with Elaine as well.

I signed up my 3 year old son for swim classes because we bought a house w/​a pool and I was VERY nervous about my kids safety! Even w/​the gate around the pool, I thought swim classes were a must! The first session was a nightmare! My son was screaming at Alex and crying for me. But Alex remained calm and was very kind to my bratty son. The 2^nd session started off the same way, I was ready to pull the plug. I just thought he wasn’t ready. I asked Alex what I should do, she said I could end the classes or I can throw him in the pool w/​her. So I took a deep breath, dragged my son to the pool and Alex took him in. Again, he kicked and screamed, but 2 minutes later, it was quiet. He was actually listening to her and doing what she asked him to do. It was a miracle!
I can’t thank Alex enough for her patience and kindness! Her skill to get the kids to trust her is amazing! And I thought it was so adorable when Ethan would ask me when he’s going to go swimming w/​Miss Alex again. The peace of mind I will have once Ethan can swim all by himself will be pricesless and I will forever be grateful!

Absolutely amazing experience. The coaches are great with kids. Our son is shy and does not like water but His coach is so patient with him. Our schedule is crazy but they are very flexible and always try to work with us.
Half way thru the lessons, our son fell and hurt his arm (no not at the pool, he was running up and down the stairs) and he had to wear a cast. Jump start was willing to work with us to use the remaining sessions with my older one who can swim but needs to improve on her stroking.
Overall we are happy with the service and will definitely come back when the boy is ready.
