OC Beach Tan

I have tried several tanning salons all over Orange County and this one not only had the best prices but the friendliest staff and clients. Every time I am in there the staff creates a warm and relaxed atmosphere. It is always clean and they offer groupings as well as in store discounted packages… yes, I have found a diamond in the rough! Thanks to Cherie!
You cannot beat the prices AND they even have RED Light Therapy (google it if you don’t know what it is) it is used by professional athletes. This salon goes above and beyond with their tanning options and I am proud to be a loyal patron to this truly noteworthy salon.

THERE ARE BETTER MORE COST EFFECTIVE PLACES TO GO THAN THIS PLACE. DON’T GO HERE!!! I didn’t know what I was missing until I went somewhere else. Now I admit that I am not a perfect person and at times am OCD but poor service like this I just couldn’t let my experience go unpublished. BE FOREWARNED I know there are patient/​client privacy issues they must adhere to on their end but no matter what excuse or response they give the events listed below are true and factual. I waited over one month to hear back from them and collect my thoughts and evidence to provide an honest and accurate review. Yes, I think all of the employees that work here are extremely nice, but the management/​ownership is the problem. I had been going to OC Tan for years and was a flexible and faithful client while they went through ownership changes, building changes, computer changes, times with no painting, no hangers, no timers or non-​working timers on beds (which I was advised to report as a health and safety issue), I even helped one of their staff unplug their toilet one time (which they nicely gave me a free session only to take it away) but from either different ownership or what looks like financially struggling business with months of unfinished projects, questionable accounting visits to generate new income I have experienced that being a faithful patient customer means nothing. Their computer system is a mess and has misplaced my visits more than once which resulted in having me keep track of my visits and bring in a visits sheet they gave me to have them sign off on every time. Really??? I showed up one night thinking I was going to be able to tan and was told by a friendly employee my visits had been removed by the manager without notice! NO WAY. Who or what company would ever do that without contacting the customer ahead of time. They have my phone number on file… they could have called me right? My wife is a CPA, her and my response was «show me an audit trail to justify your findings and conclusions». They never did… My visits sheet with all the signatures showing how many visits I had left they just erased over 10 visits. Why have a client keep track if you are going to just ignore the signatures of your employees after each visit?
My wife also has had visits «vanish» only to find there was someone else with the same name that was using hers! If you have a common name the visit accounting system can drive you nuts! In addition, without approval or consent on more than one occasion they «accidentally» used my paid visits for her visits! They apologize but why does this happen in the first place! Again, what type of company takes paid visits from one client and gives them to another?
My wife and I have since moved on to a local 5-​star HB location which is Orange County BBB approved. What a difference. The new place is client privacy and accounting organized (they ask you personal ID information prior to tanning to confirm the right person is being charged), cleaner, everything works safely has an honest and ethical business model.
Be aware that if OC Tan at some point feels you have the wrong number of visits they have a history of erasing paid visits and you have no recourse. I sent them a letter trying to work this out and letting them know of my disappointment in their behavior and a remedy to clear this up, but again they just don’t care and ignored the grievance and I have never heard back from them. Is this where you want to put your money… poor customer service. It is a kangaroo court where they are judge and jury (however since they ignored and did not reply to my letter they will get to explain this business practice model and explain this to a real judge this year)
All I can say is if you are a client there or are considering going there I know it is a hassle but you MUST keep track of your visits because this place is a nightmare to work with as the owners and management have shown they really just don’t care about you and your hard earned money. I have tried to get my money back but they have ignored my requests.

Last night I received a spray tan from the new custom air brush woman Sahyli! She was very professional and did an amazing job! The color this morning is beyond my expectations! I have received so many compliments this morning already just running errands! I’m going to Vegas for my birthday weekend and I couldn’t be happier! If you need a spray tan this is your gal! Thank you so much! I’ll be back soon!

Went to this tanning salon by my house to help ease some bad tan lines, I don’t ever go tanning but the mystic spray tan was exactly what I needed. They also had my favorite wet n’ dry hairbrushes for sale! Carrie was really sweet and cool, it was a good start to my day and I’m feeling good! Would recommend.

This tanning salon is perfect if you’re looking for a laid back professional atmosphere. The staff is always so friendly and knowledgeable about their products. I’ve always been a die-​hard tanning bed addict, but since becoming pregnant I’ve had to switch to spray tanning! Cherie’ was more than helpful on explaining to me the before and aftercare of Mystic Tanning, and what products I could use to extend the life of my tan. Now I’m hooked! I would definitely recommend this place.

Love this place! They are knowledgeable and have such great service. I came in for some weddings color and they were just the right pick. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone.

First thing’s first… I’m a lover of spray tans! However, I Needed a good base tan for the summer so I came here and bought a month unlimited package. The bed has always been clean and every person I’ve encountered has been friendly and professional. I LOVE the essential oil towels that they provide… makes it so relaxing!
I also really like the tanning booster option… it’s a neat idea that sets them apart.
I will definitely buy the Unilocal deal in a couple weeks!

Wow, I live near OC Beach Tan, in the past I never stopped in, but last week the new sign caught my eye. When I walked in, I was greeted by Carrie, what a delight to have her tour me through the Newly remodeled Salon. The place looks and feels very nice, the rooms were clean and comfortable and with the new Tanning lotions, I tanned so fast without Burning. I Look forward to using there Great New esthetician, I heard from on of the other clients that she is wonderful, the best keep secret in HB.
Give them a try, I think you will love the results.

As another review said, this place is under new management and it shows. So much is updated, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. The place is clean, and the prices are competitive. I normally use the beds, but had a spray before a trip recently and it looked great. Don’t hesitate to give this place a try!

I highly recommend this place! It’s the location of the old Tan Palace and X Marks the Spa. It’s been through some ownership/​management changes over the last several months but it has only gotten better — way better! The décor is nice and they offer a variety of services — way more than just tanning (red light therapy, energy boosting, fat burning to name a few). I do a bed/​spray tan combo and begin their red light therapy next week! I have to say their sprays are the best I’ve tried. Never before had I experienced a streak-​less spray and the tan smells a lot better than the machines I’ve used elsewhere. Their prices are very reasonable and they have a variety of packages. The staff is very nice and the manager, Carrie, has been so helpful! You should definitely try this place if you’re even thinking about any of the services they offer!

I’ve been to a lot of tanning places in HB and hands down I’ve had the best experience here. Not only is the staff super friendly, but the beds are amazing! I usually burn the first few times I try tanning beds — but not here! I’ve been 3 times in the last 3 days and I’m already tan and not burned at all.
They also have a really good selection of lotions at reasonable prices.
The place is always clean and well kept. The beds are great and clean.

Great place to tan… and I’ve been to quite a few! Clean, friendly girls behind the desk and I highly recommend the spray tan… perfect, even color! I’ll definitely keep using OC beach tan as my tanning spa.
