I have been a customer of Otten and Vallot for over 10 years now. I have been very happy with them and will not hesitate to come back as well as recommend them. Both Randy and Lotar are super knowledgeable and helpful.

Randy and Lothar are impeccable jewelers. I was impressed from the minute I walked in. They both took the time to explain the process, and how to identify what it was I was buying. I can’t stress enough how important it is to know what it is that you are purchasing. They will take the time to show you and make you feel comfortable with what you are purchasing. I really felt that they were looking out for me and would recommend them to anyone going forward.

I love going to see Lothar. He is so knowledgeable, patient and helpful. I appreciate the beautiful diamonds and jewelry at a reasonable price. If you like fancy showrooms with high overhead this is not your place. If you prefer 2 owners that care about having life long customers this is definitely the place for you! If the most famous jewelry company in the U.S. trust them with their customers and jewelry you can too! Looking forward to many more visits.

When my husband proposed, he did not have a ring with him… he explained he wanted me to pick out whatever I wanted. I was thrilled! I knew exactly what I wanted, an emerald cut ring and Tiffany’s had the exact ring. My husband knew Lotar and brought me into his shop with my Tiffany ring picture in hand. Lotar said he could make the custom ring no problem… and could do it for way less than Tiffanys. He did a phenomenal job on my engagement and wedding band. I couldn’t be happier with the way it came out. I get compliments all the time on my beautiful ring. He also made my husband’s band and he loves it. Lotar is awesome, he’s friendly, personable, and an true artist at his craft.

Lothar and Randy were our third visit on a state wide quest to find «the ring». We knew we wanted to source a stone first then pick or design a setting that complimented the stone. We also had pretty exacting criteria. All our stops were low overhead, nontraditional jewelers who would source diamonds. After two disappointing visits to 2 other jewelers we came up to HB on a recommendation of a friend. Referrals are the best! Lothar nailed it on the first try, he brought out 4 stones and a ring with a stone that met our criteria. Any of the 5 would have been perfect but the preset ring was what I didn’t even know I was dreaming.
They have been there forever and won’t try and upsell you. They also buy gold at a very competitive rate. Had we wanted custom work I know they would have knocked it out of the park.
I also appreciated how much time they spent with us, we looked at each diamond with a variety of equipment and were confident with what we were buying.
And Lothar teaches gemology and lapidary at local community colleges so his patience is infinite. He wants you to know not just buy.

I was in need of a ring resizing and quickly turned to Unilocal to see where I could find a good jeweler who was also not too expensive. I also did not want to leave my ring at any jeweler for a few days as I was still very much attached to it! But I had to wear the ring on my middle finger instead of the ring finger because it was so big! (Was size 7, I’m a size 4!) I didn’t want to keep wearing my engagement ring on the wrong finger so that’s how I ended up in Lothar’s shop.
As soon as I walked in he greeted me with a friendly smile and was very welcoming. He instantly said he knew he’d never seen me in his shop before and I let him know he was correct. I mentioned I was referred to his office by Unilocal and he said he was very happy to hear that since he didn’t get many customers from Unilocal.He even gave me a nice discount!
As I mentioned before my ring had to be resized from a size seven to a size four. But I walked in thinking I was a size five since other rings I’ve owned have all been size five. I’m glad that Lothar still checked my size at that time and let me know that size five was too loose. I was shocked to see I could squeeze in a size four! But he assured me it should be even tighter. I was not very comfortable with it being so tight so I asked him if we could leave it at four and he said that whatever I was comfortable with was what he will do. That made me feel a lot better.
I also had some questions about my ring and he took his time to answer them and also show me my gem under a microscope and some of his own gems for comparison. That was very nice of him, since he did not have to do that at all.
He was very detailed in his explanations, had a great price for me, showed great customer service skills and did a wonderful job with my resizing. He had my ring ready by the next day –clean, sparkling and fitting great. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Randy & Lothar have been our family jewelers since before I was born. They are wonderful, for several reasons — the first being that they are honest guys, and won’t try to trick you into extra work or anything like that. They charge very fair, reasonable prices, and they’re able to do that because they have low overhead. They don’t spend thousands on marble floors and pillars like a lot of upscale jewelers do.
The second reason they’re wonderful, is that they do great, quality work. They sized our rings for us (see the photo I attached) and even though both rings have very intricate bands with designs going all the way around, they did a great job. You can’t see where they made the cut!
It’s a very small shop with two large cases and 2 smaller cases of pretty jewelry for sale. Lots of gorgeous women’s jewelry. Don’t expect Tiffany’s– like I said, it’s low overhead, but the quality of their jewelry and handiwork is top notch. We went in this summer so my husband could get a custom wedding band made, but he ended up LOVING a band they already had in their case! We were shocked that he found one, but he totally loves it!
They know us by name when we come in and will stop to chat with us for a long time, every time, about whatever questions we may have. I’ve asked him to look at stones and jewelry and tell me if they’re real, good quality, etc., and they give us a lot of consultation just because they’re nice guys and because they enjoy gemology! He even let us see the flaws in our stones under his microscope. Very detailed guys. I highly recommend them.
