Peet’s Coffee & Tea

I’m a frequent Starbucks patron, however I’ve noticed after coming here that the Starbucks coffee usually tastes burnt. I love the flavor of the coffee here… rich and creamy. Today I ordered a coconut cream latte. Delish! This is my first choice of franchise coffee houses. Love love love!

Having lived in, around, & near the Bay Area most my life, & having worked in Berkeley (the birthplace of Peet’s) for over a decade & ½ now, it’s natural for me to say I love Peet’s coffee!
So much so, that I’ve visited & Unilocaled 17 Peet’s locations now (including this 1). That’s why, on a recent mad long weekend dash down to San Diego & back, the sight of this Peet’s in Huntington Beach was much welcomed.
Going back to the Bay from SD is a long drive. The plan was simple. Find some good, yummy, powerful caffeine near the freeway. At the time this plan was hatched, this Peet’s popped right up on a Unilocal search.
Finding Peet’s in SoCal was like finding an oasis. There was plenty of parking right in front. Service was fast & friendly. & the Havana Cappuccino I tried ($ 1 off with Unilocal check-​in) was positively delicious.
I was in, out, & back on my way up to the Bay quick, fast, & in a hurry. This Peet’s in Huntington Beach was everything I needed it to be right when I needed it. I love it when a plan comes together.

Awesome service and knowledge among every worker here. Always friendly and welcoming.

I’ve been their 4 times and they got my order wrong each time. It was one simple drink. The last time I was there I had to first for the cashier to finish talking to her friend then wait for the barista to finish talking to his friend before I got my drink.
I will never go back.

I’ll have to admit their tri berry scone was the
, but my almond milk chai latte left something to be desired. I love almond milk, but it took away from the chai tasting experience that I so crave… & there was some kind of odd grainy taste as I neared the bottom of my cup as well.
I received a gift card for this place so I’ll definitely return to try out something else on the menu (why waste free money, right??), but I’ll stick with my coconut milk chai at Starbucks from here on out.
3 stars for effort, the awesome scone, but a chai is what I consider my «coffee place experience» & they left something to be desired there.

If you like coffee, you’ll love Peet’s Coffee & Tea. I felt so awake after have their caramel macchiato.

I’m giving this place 3 stars because it’s basically your average coffee fancy brew café it was clean but I’m a Starbucks girl I don’t know what I was thinking walking into this place the drink I ordered was horrible I’ll stick to Starbucks thank you very much

I come here all the time and must say they are consistently great and consistently provide great customer service.
Since I first tried their espresso, I haven’t wanted Starbucks’ iced Americano since. I have had one, since it was close at the time and I really needed a cuppa’, but you can bet your bottom I did NOT like it! Crazy how much better Peet’s is. Doesn’t taste like Starbucks’ burnt shite.
And their syrups and sauces are delicious. I love the seasonal stuff. Maple is amazing. Iced white mochas are the bomb. Very sweet, I must warn you, so ask for half the sauce if you aren’t sugar-​crazy. Teas are all good, too. New Iced Tea Infusions, also refreshing and delicious. You should try the new teas! :)
Enjoy the coffee, teas, service, space, and music! Price runs the same as Starbucks.

great coffee and my favorite is the Iced White Chocolate Latte w/​Almond Milk! The staff is awesome and very friendly.

If you can find a place to park your guaranteed to find a place to sit here. A def 5 star except on weekends. My guess the regular more experienced staff is off on the weekends because you won’t find the same friendly, always willing to help attitude. Plus the store seems to be less kept up including the negligence of the restrooms with no paper.
During the week you will find friendly, ready to help staff with an inviting atmosphere fully equipped with wifi and plenty of seating. If you like it cold this also the place to go because they are not afraid to use the air.
The coffee is always fresh and if you don’t think so they are happy to brew new upon your request. The tea is amazing but don’t expect to get a warm snack as their snack options are not able to be heated.

I ordered a javiva and it was meh. I’ve had javiva’s from other Peet’s Coffee’s before and they were really good. So, I’m not sure if it was just this place, or if I just got the wrong drink.
Aside from the odd-​tasting drink, service was 3 stars:
–The girl that placed my order looked incredibly disinterested in her job. She asked me what I wanted to get, then she started typing whatever onto the computer screen. This lead me to think that she was taking my order. But she was doing something else (logging in?). So, I had to repeat my order a 2^nd time.
–My boyfriend ordered a drink and a slice of lemon cake. She didn’t give him the lemon cake until he had to go up to her and ask for it.
I would probably not come here again, unless I am in the area AND there is some sort of deal going on.
The place is somewhat big and there’s ample of seating space. I’d say this would be a good place to go study since there’s free wifi.

Great place to study! Service is great, coffee is delicious and it doesn’t so loud and crowded. Also, Starbucks tends to attract creepers at times but I haven’t seen a creeper here yet (knock on mac keyboard)
My only complaints would be the tables are a bit small if i wanted to spread out my study material (except for the handicap table) and the wifi is a little slow.

Good, strong coffee can sometimes be a little difficult to find. Peet’s, even when I go as infrequently as once every few years, is definitely a go-​to when the hubby and I just need a small pickmeup.
Shared a soy cappuccino the other evening. Was really happy that this Peet’s was open so late (most stores were already closed by 9pm, but Peet’s was closing at 10pm on a Friday), so we popped in. Service was great. They were fairly busy, but we got our drink quickly.
But, yes, love the consistency. Once again, will probably be back if we’re in the area and need a little kick.

Service trumps almost everything. Here we have excellent service and a pretty good coffee to boot!
I came here with my lady and her sister. We were instantly greeted and promptly coached on the best way to get our beverages. Our three drinks were served quickly and they smelled great. They tasted nice too!
As we were sitting and chit chatting, our barista, Journie, came over to our table to talk to us. My lady’s sister is deaf so Journie was signing away and we were all having a good time. Wow. Hey, coffee shop manager, give her a raise please! That makes this coffee shop one of my favorites in the entire state of California now. Thanks!

Service was OK. I had a couple questions about their seasonal sea salt caramel mocha drink and the cashier’s answer was «I don’t know… I don’t know… I don’t know.» I asked if they had any calorie info on their drinks (yes I’m a health nut) and she just said nope. She didn’t ask any of her co-​workers, just kinda shrugged. When I asked what she would recommend that would be good with soy milk, she said she didn’t know because she drinks 2% milk. (Okay Napoleon dynamite.) I’m just disappointed that someone who works at a coffee shop had no real input or interest in coffee. The drink does taste good so that’s a plus. And not trying to make anything personal — I’m sure she’s a sweetheart, I just don’t think «barista» looks good on her.

Went here for the first time today and liked the atmosphere! I ordered a scone and a Matcha Freddo, which is their version of a Frappuccino (I’m not much of a coffee drinker). The workers were really friendly. The drink was light and tasted very well with whipped cream. The scone was lacking in flavor, but I didn’t mind it. Maybe next time I’ll try it heated up. It could have been where I was sitting (near the door), but the wifi was pretty slow too.

White chocolate frio ice blended. Does inhaling it within 10 minutes while browsing the stores tell you something? Haha, it was pretty delicious! It’s up there with my favorite ice blended drinks :) although, I think adding the white chocolate may have been kind of like a bacon topping on food. ;)
Definitely not used to their green tea frappé though, everywhere including Coffee Bean and other coffee and tea shops make it too creamy/​milky based. I guess Starbucks wins in that department for me!

A nice Peet’s location. Everyone I encountered was friendly and efficient. they greet you as soon as you come in, and are quick to jump on a register to get your order started. I went with my usual caramel latte, and it was up really fast. tasted perfect… exactly as ordered. *happy*
location: it’s in a shopping center with lots of places to wander and shop. parking seemed easy, though if the mall is busy, i could see it might be challenging.
