My husband and I went to have drinks and possibly dinner celebrating our 30th anniversary together. After we valet parked our car, we found out that this bar is closed until further notice.

The Red Chair Lounge is located inside the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Hotel. Stopped in one evening for a drink — I ordered a 16 year old Lagavulin single malt scotch… Beware: I should have asked how much they were going to charge me for this single malt. The most I’ve ever paid in other hotels bars is $ 18.00. They charged me $ 27.00 for the drink. Keep in mind a whole bottle of Lagavulin(back home from the Virginia ABC Store) is around $ 95.00. I understand that they have to make a profit — but the pricing here seems excessively steep. Other than that, the ambiance of the place is nice.

Awesome. Located within a lavishly expansive, newly renovated Hyatt hotel with another excellent indoor restaurant/bar right across the lobby(yes, you can bring your drinks with you anywhere on the property!). Loads of heated outdoor seating with views of vegas-style fountains, and an outdoor firepit with plenty of seating. Incredulously free 4-hr(validated) valet parking. Just awesome.

My dad came to visit me out in Orange County for a weekend and he chose to stay at the Hyatt. So when I met him out there, he wanted to have a couple of drinks and chill, and Red Chair Lounge provided the perfect spot. We chatted it up with the bartender, got some good drinks, and I happened upon a little game room FREE of charge! We played pool and shuffleboard while sipping on some good beverages. Not a bad place for a first date. It has class, good drinks, live music, and free games! **Pro Tips** Parking is validated for four hours(I believe) but if you’re going to drink then call a Lyft!

I would have gave this place 5 stars but some random gay guy went up to me and stared harassing me trying to force me to find his keys so I decided to leave. Besides that it’s a nice place to go to if you want to enjoy a nice friendly drink. Giving this place the benefit of the doubt trip.

Finally made it over as a group of 3 the other evening. To be truthful it is a hotel bar— it isn’t THAT special or OMGAMAZING, but it definitely has its perks that earn such good reviews here, and I think a lot of that is due to lack of options similar to its atmosphere in the area: 1. Atmosphere– despite being a hotel bar, I loved the atmosphere– intimate with a mix of tables and couches and a huge fireplace. It didn’t hurt that the holiday decorations were up, making it feel really cozy. Towards the end of our visit a pianist and singer started up and that would have been nice to stay for. 2. Decent specialty drink selection-We all ordered off their menu and were happy with our drinks– they were well made and strong(in a good way). Decent wine selection. The service was decent, and the food on the menu was good but limited– I wouldn’t come here starving or with the intention of getting a true full meal. I also wouldn’t come here if you are planning on living it up and getting a little wild. This is a classy place you would go to have a quiet drink and conversation with friends, or catch a cocktail with your date before heading to your restaurant of choice, etc. There really is a red chair ;)

Cool little bar inside the Hyatt Regency. Awesome drinks. Pimm’s Cup in a tin cup. Super tasty mojitos. Friendly and helpful bartenders. Cool music. The kind you want to shazam because it sounds so different and cool.

What a nice little lounge! Since this is a resort lounge and bar, I’m pretty sure that the drinks & food are expensive. I had many drinks here, but I paid for zero of them. :P The best part about this lounge has got to be the outdoor fire pit. Even though it was FREEZING out there(‘m from Chicago… when I say freezing, I mean freezing by my standards…) the fire pit made it a very pleasant evening outside. I have no idea why SO-CAL would be this cold, but that’s just the way it was. The burgers are huge! Be prepared to be wearing it when you eat it. It is stuffed with all sorts of fresh burger goodness. I probably should have just stuck with the hummus because that was plenty of food. The lounge on the inside is also very nice. Beautiful comfy chairs and a cozy chic ambiance. As far as the drinks go, they have pretty much everything. But you definitely feel like you should be drinking scotch or a martini in here.

A coveted 5-star review from L2?! AMAZING! I’m so pleased with the bartender here that she made the experience simply divine. My M.O.M.(man of the moment) and I sat at the bar and I sipped on champagne while he got way too spifflicated on a few glasses of Malbec. Really dude? On a first date?! Lightweight! But I digress… Although they have a restaurant next door, the bartender, Camille, was kind enough to allow us to order whatever we wanted from the menu at the Californian restaurant. So she would bring it over. While there was a miscommunication on the dish that we wanted(M.O.M. and I were going to split the shrimp and scallops pasta as our first course) the good news is that the Chimichurri shrimp she brought out instead were charbroiled to absolute perfection! Unfortunately, the scallops dish with the cold, sweet quinoa just left a cloying taste in my mouth that wasn’t all that pleasant. We moved on to the pappardelle pasta with pesto and delightfully tasty tomatoes. This was a vegetarian dish that left me quite satisfied . The ambiance here is cozy and sexy. The service(arguably the most important part of all) was impeccable. I look forward to coming back again with my next date(whoever that may be), and I’ll probably sit at the bar again just to ensure I get the same stellar, attentive service.

A must if you love happy hour! The happy hour is 5−7pm Sunday through Friday and includes half-off bottles of champagne with tons of options and a range of prices, depending on your mood. There is a pretty good selection of food at all times, but they include most of their best items on the happy hour menu, too. The chimichurri shrimp are delicious and come with 8 pieces. The sliders are also good and come with fries, as is the cheese plate. They change their menu from time to time but if they have truffle fries on there, get them! There also used to be crab cakes and they were amazing – little to no filler, just crab, and cooked on a griddle. Maybe they’ll bring them back! If you get the chance, sit at the bar and get to know Camille. She’s a great bartender and an absolute sweetheart. Last but not least, it’s free valet if you get your ticket validated! Do yourself a favor and check out the Red Chair Lounge.

HAPPYHOUR!!! Discounted food and drinks, great view of the ocean, gorgeous wait staff, validated parking. The red chairs are very cool and comfortable to sit in. Chef uses exotic, high quality ingredients in the dishes, so expect to be impressed. Highly recommend for a romantic date, especially if your date is a hot model like mine.

I usually dislike giving a place an additional star just because of the ambiance and décor but Red Chair Lounge deserves it. Ordinarily, I would probably give a place like this a maximum of 2 stars and here is why. The food wasn’t at all good. It’s the type of uninspired and badly executed food you typically find in a hotel restaurant. Sliders — Really dry and lacked flavor. Did this come out of a microwave? Pan Seared Scallops served atop a quinoa, pineapple, jicama, & cucumber salad — Was over the top fragrant. It might have been the absinthe gastrique they incorporate into it but my friend Erica L. quite accurately described it. «Tastes like Bath and Bodyworks cucumber body lotion.» While that is one of my favorite scents on a woman, it’s definitely not something that I want to eat, or is it? Now I’m all confused. Anyway, couple the badly executed food with the typical price mark ups at hotel lounges and you’ve got yourself 2 stars. However, I have to give the extra star for the free shuffleboard and pool, décor, and a wonderful outdoor patio with fire pit where you can sit and take in the sunset and the Huntington Beach coast. It’s hard to complain when you get to take in a beautiful sunset while sipping on a cocktail.

This place has classy furniture and decorations that make it seem upscale, so I felt really out of place in my oversized tank and sandals. However, the staff didn’t seem to mind, and their friendliness made me feel right at home :) I ordered a champagne(the waitress also brought out a complimentary tray of assorted salty snacks, yum!) and sat outside in the comfy chair next to the fire. It was so relaxing! The sun was out, a light breeze was going, and the beautiful water fountain nearby was running, making a soothing background noise. Because the Hyatt is away from Main St, and its patrons are more mature, this lounge is a nice, quiet get-away from everything. Though this isn’t my usual scene, I enjoyed myself and would come back again the next time I need to decompress and go on a mini stay-cation.

In love. Seriously in love. What a great place and I hate that it took me so long to get there. I love the atmosphere, the service, the couches, the food, the games, the TV’s and the fact that it is pretty relaxed and quiet. Their house cabernet is nice and very inexpensive for happy hour. All night HH on Thursday – SCORE. Valet is validated up to 3 hours in the bar – score again. The cheese plate was yummy and beautifully presented and who doesn’t just love a – cheese score! We also had the garlic fries and shrimp and both were nice… I think they served us a trough o’ fries. But besides all of the things to cram in your mouth and pour down your gullet(I mean sip fancily – pinkie out please – and snack on prettily) it is just the classy atmosphere of the place that is relaxing and inviting! The gentleman bartender was so friendly and attentive and this is just what service in a place like this should be. The service is so spot-on that I believe that the manager bussed our table a couple of times! Red Chair – you guys are on it. I will be back and often. I have been looking for a place that I can relax in(on a sofa in front of a soft TV) that feels like home – except people bring me things I want as I sit there. I really need to train my dog better or something. Nah, I’ll just come here instead… it’s much easier. It is perfect for a date that you actually want to talk to or for a group where you need some catching up. If you want hyper, Main Street is just around the corner, if you want style then come here!

Very cool lounge located inside of the Hyatt HB. Red walls, comfy couches, a fire place and fantastic bartenders to keep you from becoming dehydrated. I came here last night for the OC Weekly Kids Konnected event and while I intended to mingle and network, I ended up holding my position at the bar and people watching while sipping my black cherry martini($ 12) I also sampled the Kobe Beef sliders($ 5 for HH) and the hummus platter($ 9) None of the food was exciting for the price, it was actually quite bland, but the drinks were fantastic. I loved the atmosphere and the very few people I did end up talking to were very nice. When you valet, make sure you get your ticket validated for 3 hours otherwise you pay $ 15.

How stoked was I to find this bar in our hotel? That was rhetorical, if you must have an answer it would be «very stoked». Perfect little lounge, remarkable place to kick back for a cocktail or ten. Full bar, chill vibe, and my favorite part, drum roll please… FREEPOOLTABLE. I was relaxing at the bar with a gin and tonic when a gentleman approached and asked the bartender«Can I have the balls?» My mind frequents the gutter so the thoughts are immediately trying to figure out why a guy is asking the 20 something female bartender for balls. She didn’t look like a tranny but you never know. In 30 seconds when she returned with a full set of billiard balls I figured it out, makes a lot more sense. «How much is the pool table?» I asked, assuming there was an hourly rate. «Free, if it’s open just ask me for the balls.» Haha, asking her for balls… sorry. *clears throat awkwardly* I love shooting pool, and the fact that I’ve paid $ 1/game to play on the most god awful tables you can imagine makes me so freaking happy to see a place like this offer up a quality table for free. Toss that in with a mellow atmosphere, couches, comfy chairs, a fireplace and attentive bartenders and you could find me here for days. What more do you need? Oh, a snack would be nice, lucky for me the bartender asked«Would you like some nuts?» Hahahhhahaha, oh man, asking if I wanted ‘nuts’… god I’m immature sometimes.

Nice little fancy lounge. That pretty much sums it up! The Red Chair has a truly charming feel. The warm décor and mellow ambiance radiates a mature & relaxing aura that enables any patron to really unwind while sipping on their alcoholic beverage of choice(though it screams grab a merlot & cigar). The bartenders are very professional and kind. We were offered a menu in case we’d like to order a bite in addition to our libations. The service was fast, courteous & attentive. The place was empty during the time we went(Tuesday @ 6pm), so that may have contributed to the enhanced experience. As far as the layout– there are a few options as to where you can plant yourselves: near the entrance, behind the bar next to the billiard table, or out in the patio next to the fire pit. We decided to grab the shuffle board pieces and make our way to the front. The great thing about this place is that you can always grab the complimentary chess, shuffle board, or pool gear for a little friendly game with your company. Great ice breakers for any first or awkward dates. The bar menu is a smaller version of the full menu that can be found in the restaurant across the way called The Californian. The sliders & cheese plate we ordered was to our liking & thoroughly enjoyed the taste. We will definitely go back to try other savory options available for their bar guests. Highlights & Low-lights: *Valet parking only(But I suppose you can walk in from the beach) *Dark & eclectic *Professional & friendly staff *Pricing is a tad more then your average bar but your paying for the quality of service & atmosphere *Does not get very crowded *Cigar’s available for purchase *Complimentary chess, shuffleboard, & billiards with your ID on hold *Beautiful outdoor patio area with fire pit *Bar food menu is tastey We absolutely loved our time here at the Red Chair. It’s a lovely place to enjoy your company & be able to chat over a cocktail session. We did spend more money then we would at the Olive Garden for a dinner for two plus drinks, but it was still so nice & would do it again for the atmosphere. 5 stars!

Great ambiance for an evening drink or late night snack. The red chair looks and feels super cool and the area by the fire place is an awesome setting for good conversation and just lounging by the bar. The back area has billiards and some shuffleboard near the TV. I believe Friday and Saturday nights have live entertainment. There was a guy on piano singing and taking requests. He was pretty funny and the drunk group near us kept requesting some journey — good times. I might be biased because during our wedding, our photographer took my wife and I here to take pictures(in the morning) — they turned out to be our favorite. But still… it’s very inviting and a place for good memories.
