Lovely restaurant and service. Ordered their beef koobideh lunch special which comes with a side salad, but a smaller portion of saffron basmati rice. Shared a side order of a vegetable kabob since gone are the days when kabob meals would automatically come with a grilled tomato, white onion and green bell pepper. Lunch was good and filling. Only thing I’m not fond of was the unusual texture of the koobideh. Meat was a bit more elastic-like chew to it, which is prevalent with some Persian restaurants. Perhaps it’s from the way the meat is marinated or prepared before grilling?

Delicious. Had the koobideh combination plate(1 chicken and 1 beef). It was probably the best chicken koobideh I have ever had. The beef one was way above average too. Dolmeh was very good. The must o’kiyar and must o’moosier were outstanding. Hummus was top notch and the olive oil sauce for the bread was off the charts. Will definitely go here again.

I’ve been a regular at this restaurant for years and absolutely love the food, the great service and the wonderful owners. Great place for lunch or dinner and out of all the years of dining here, I have always been highly impressed with the great food and warm customer service. 5 Stars!

Ordered some food over the phone. Soheila was a sweet genuine and friendly person that took the order. She double checked the order and said the food will be ready in 30min or less. I arrived at the restaurant and she greeted us with a genuine smile and wanted to know how we found out about the restaurant. Our food was ready and packed for us to go. Let me tell you, in Southern California you will find more than a dozen Persian restaurants that claim to have the best food. Saffron in HB(not related to the ones in Irvine and Tustin) hands down is by far one of the best! We ordered their Beef Soltani, Beef Koobideh, Mast moosir(I think it’s home made) and their house salad. They were all soooooooo good. Soheila said she personally made the salad for us. Will be definitely going back to try their other dishes. Can’t wait !

The food here is great. Last couple times I went to eat at the restaurant, service is on the slow side. So if you’re on a schedule would definitely recommend to order for pick up. I’ve had the koobideh combination plate and boneless chicken plate. Make sure to ask for their homemade spicy sauce.

Phenomenal experience all-around, the location was easily-accessible, plentiful parking, the place is small but very clean and cozy. Service was phenomenal, absolutely fantastic. Ella waited on us, and we were taken care of like family. The food was scurmptious, and we will definitely be coming back. Dinner for 2 adults and 2 little ones(4 and 6) came out to $ 48, so while there are definitely cheaper places to eat, for this quality the price was very reasonable. We look forward to coming back and trying more things!

Been here numerous times and love it! Excellent service! Ela was our waitress and she was very attentive! Super friendly! Great foods! Love the bread and dressing! Love the lamb kabob as always. Lentil soup was good.

Horrible customer service, waitress was extremely rude and disrespectful. We ordered our drinks as soon as we came in and we never got them, but yet she kept checking on the other tables and never came back to check on us or bring us our drinks. We had to leave before getting our food or even our drinks. Then the waitress has the audacity to say shes gonna charge us for the food. This place used to be good but since the new owners took over and changed the name its gone down hill. I don’t recommend this place at all, if you want good quality arabic food then go to kabab grill in westminster.

Plenty parking. Located next to Vista Paint store. Décor and ambiance is nice. Servers were friendly. 1. Basket of pita bread before ordering was nice with a spicy olive oil. 2. Chicken Koobideh entrée– Large portion which can be shared. Good, but friend thought it was a little bland. The texture was soft with the ground up chicken and perhaps egg? Reminded me of a firm omelet. 3. Gyro Plate– meat was flavorful. I liked it with the cucumber yogurt sauce since the meat was a little salty, but good. Feta fries had a little spicy kick to them but very little feta. 4. Rose Ice cream with pistachio– Yummy. I usually have to go to LA or Cerritos for this type of ice cream.

We come here for lunch and dinner. The food is very fresh and tasty. Everything from salads, soup to combo plates. They always have specials posted on the wall. Great for families and date nights!

The food is super unique and good they do overuse this herb that i don’t like at all but for the most part i really liked it especially the yogurt sauce I’m obsessed with that. they remodeled and its pretty cute inside the server was also really nice the only real complaint is that they don’t serve alcohol but apparently its a zoning thing so its not their fault

Solid place for Mediterannean. I had the Beef Soltani, which was an amazing dish. It’s a pretty expensive place for lunch, but I would certainly go back!

I order the Family Meal that I got a coupon for in the mail. Feeling hungry, lazy and it’s on my way home. Phone service was prompt, friendly, clear. In person, Jamie served me at the counter. Very sweet and genuinely seemed interested in me and not just saying«How was your day» to be polite. He also offered to carry the food out to my car because it was a lot! The food was delicious! All of us thought so and there was definitely enough for 4 adults. There could have been more salad. To be honest, the amount was barely enough for two of us and we ate that in about 60 seconds flat. Maybe it would have been enough if it weren’t so damn good. What is in that salad dressing? It’s amazing! I’ll be eating the leftovers for lunch today and I am already looking forward to that and it’s only 10AM. Eat there. They’re nice people who serve delicious, healthy food that is not too expensive. I’ll be back.

I was really happy with this restaurant! Staff was really friendly and helpful. I ordered the falafel plate that came with a small salad, rice & stuffed grape leaves. We ordered pita and hummus and our waitress also brought out olive oil with shaved pieces of Parmesan cheese(it had some spice to it.) Really good! The Turkish iced tea was so good and the falafel was not dry or over cooked at all. It was perfect! Only bad points; they were out of garlic spread and baklava :(however I was so happy with everything else that I wasn’t too bummed on it. Can’t wait to go back!

It’s a small place with a big taste! If you have a bigger group, get the appetizer combination, try all their appetizers. It’s the freshest humus I found along with other ingredients. Always enjoyed their beef and chicken combo. Both are very soft and tender. Not dry at all! Love the precise amount of taste on the rice. Filet mignon and beef combo was a little disappointed. Filet mignon was on the chewy side. No flavor. So don’t get that. Must try their silky ice cream. It’s not the everyday taste you expect. Almost like a perfume and vanilla taste combined. I give the staff there A+++

I closely follow some of my favorite Unilocal friends for many reasons. Some are gorgeous, some are hilarious, some I know personally and some just share my passion for unique mom n pop restaurants. I rarely want to try some new place without checking the reviews first. If I know someone else that I follow has walked the path before me, it’s much better. When the menu is full of stuff that I have never heard of, can’t pronounce, or never tried before, I will use their review as an ordering guide. Chris D. checked out Saffron Grill and wrote a killer review so I have had it bookmarked for a while. My wife and son were traveling and my daughter was at a friend’s house so I was alone and looking for dinner options on the way home from work. I stopped in here at about 5:30 on a weeknight and the place was empty. That only bothers me if I’m unfamiliar with the place. With the great reviews, though, I strolled right in. The waitress was stunning and very sweet. She took great care of me and made me feel very welcome. I used Chris’s review and basically ordered what he ordered. A delicious eggplant and mint dip got me started. It was delicious. The complementary seasoned oil dip was equally good. I could have devoured two baskets of their pita bread. I also had a beef stew with kidney beans. Deep rich flavor and lean beef chunks. Hey, if you want to know what these dishes are called, I have no idea. I don’t read Farsi … so check out Chris’s review for much more details. He writes a helluva lot better and in more depth than I do. And don’t be fooled. Chris is gorgeous, too! If you just want a more familiar dish, the have kebabs, gyros, salads and more Greek type of food. For a glimpse into more specialized Persian food, this place is just awesome.

I had such an amazing experience at Saffron Grill. I met up with my two girlfriends to celebrate a toast to life. We were kindly greeted by the front desk. She provided a free plate of pita bread and spicy feta olive oil dip! It was delicious, and kept me calm while waiting for our meals. The meals took roughly 15 mins; there was only one cook. I got the boneless wrap and it was amazing!!! It was cheap too, only 8.99 dollars with a side order of one of the following garden salad, rice, or feta French-fries. It seemed very healthy with fresh pita bread and a lot of tomato, salad and onions! Parking is very easy and they have unique menu paper. How do they make it like that? If you know the answer please message me(:

The staff was very nice, very genuine. Attentive without bothersome. I avoid rice and bread and they were more then happy to cater to my crazy good requests. The gyro was delicious! I will be coming here often! Thank you!

Excellent Persian food. I was sad when I left Seattle and my Persian staples up there. Happy to say I may have found my go to outside of Tehrangeles. Top notch beef koobideh, and cheaper than what I’m used to as well. The lamb shank was excellent highly recommended. I tried the chicken koobideh, reminiscent of a meatball. I’d pass on that one. Service was very friendly and quick. Restaurant is definitely small and quant, but not too crowded on a Saturday night. I’ll be back!

A small Middle eastern café in Huntington Beach. Our party ordered quite a few things to try out. I’m a huge fan of middle eastern food. Appetizer Maust o Khlan — $ 5 — average 3⁄5 The Maust was decent. I wish they gave more cucubmers in it but otherwise it was OK. Take the maust and load it up on top of your rice. Tadig — $ 5(Plain) — average, 3⁄5 The tadig was OK. I’ve had better tadig. It was kind of lacking in flavor. Beef combination skewer plate — $ 19 — average 3⁄5 Comes w/a skewer of fillet mignon and ground beef. The fillet skewer was REALLY good. The ground beef tasted whatever. Chicken combination skewer plate — $ 18 — average 3⁄5 My fiancé ordered this. The ground chicken was decent. The other chicken breast skewer was really dry. I wouldn’t recommend this. Lamb skewer — $ 19 — average 3⁄5 My buddy ordered this and no one liked this. The lamb was really gamey and didn’t taste that great. It was also kind of fatty. TIPS: –I would avoid ordering the«ground beef» like skewers. Just order skewers which are fully-cut«meat» items, like the fillet steak. The ground beef felt like cheap quality meat. –A re-load of pita bread/sauce costs $ 2.

I went with my bf all the time but this time waited for my drink for a long time. So ate my hummus without.drink. Decided to leave and just pay for the hummus because the waitress kept on ignoring us and she still wanted us to pay for our rest of the food because it was cooking still but it’s not are fault that she was rude to whole time but we didn’t because we were done with there service! Never coming back again!
